Funeral services were Saturday, May 6, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg with Pastor Casey Zesch officiating.
Burial followed at the Friedrich family cemetery near Fredericksburg under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Lois Gazzola, 93, of Jacksboro died Sunday, April 29, 2006, in Graham.
A memorial service was held Wednesday May 3, at Memorial Christian Church with Pastor Tom Neal officiating.
Private graveside service followed under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.

Mildred (Hall) Powers, 85, of Jacksboro died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, in Fort Worth.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 5, at First United Methodist Church with Pastor David Weber officiating.
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.

Clifford Howard Burks
Former Jacksboro resident Clifford Howard Burks, 82, died Monday, May 1, in Wichita Falls.
Funeral services were Thursday, May 4, at Faith Baptist Church, Wichita Falls, with the Rev. Richard Rust and Dr. Scott Willingham officiating.

Walter Joe Pitts
Former Jacksboro resident Walter Joe Pitts, 80, of Whiteville, N.C., died Tuesday, Aug. 15.
Graveside services with Masonic rites will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Fentress (Texas) Community Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of O’Bannon Funeral Home in Luling and Peacock Funeral Home in Whiteville.

Charles Scott Moody
Charles Scott Moody, 72, of Wizard Wells died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, in Jacksboro.
Graveside services were Sunday, Aug. 6, at Jim Ned Cemetery in Runaway Bay with the Rev. Melvin Clay officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home of Bridgeport.

Melton Wayne Barnett
Melton Wayne Barnett, 71, of Bryson died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, in Wichita Falls.
Family and friends gathered Sunday, Aug. 6, at the Vashti Community Center to remember his life.
Arrangements were under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home in Graham.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 5, at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with the Rev. Bryan Johnson officiating.
Burial followed at Andrews North Cemetery.

James “Henry” Walton, 88, of Garden City, Kan., died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at Stanton County (Kan.) Long-term Care Facility.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 5, at First United Methodist Church in Garden City with the Rev. Brenda Fluellen officiating.
Burial followed at Valley View Cemetery with Garden City Area Veterans Honor Guard officiating.

Brian Floyd Jr.
Brian Floyd Jr., the infant son of Christy Bailey and Brian Floyd, was born and died on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2006, in Graham.
Graveside services were Friday, Sept. 1, at Oakwood Cemetery with Bro. B.J. Nunley officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.

Junior Lewis 'Tiger' Lyon
Junior Lewis “Tiger” Lyon, 72, of Jacksboro died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, in Jacksboro.
Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 4, at Bible Baptist Church with Bro. B.J. Nunley officiating.
Burial followed at Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.

Jimmy J. 'Pop' Stephens
Jimmy J. “Pop” Stephens, 72, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, at his home in Jermyn.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Jermyn Baptist Church with Bro. Brad Thompson officiating.
Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.

Joan Agnes Smith
Joan Agnes Smith, 76, of Jacksboro died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, in Jacksboro. A memorial service was held Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Coker Funeral Home Chapel with Eugene Weldon officiating.
Mrs. Smith was born Aug. 31, 1930, in the Bronx, N.Y., to the late Thomas W. and Loretta (Lane) O’Neill. She married Dan Roy Smith Dec. 26, 1951, in in Tijuana, Mexico. She was a retired nurse and a member of Christian Missions Church. She erved in the U.S. Marine Corps.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.
Survivors include her husband, Dan Roy Smith of Jacksboro; three daughters, Barbara Fields and husband Jack of Kerrville, Linda Watson and husband Morris Jr. of Jacksboro and Vickie Wise and husband David of Bowie; a brother-in-law, James Smith and wife Linda of Jacksboro; nine grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Christians Missions Church Building Fund.

Clarence A. Conner
Clarence A. Conner, 93, of Jacksboro died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, in Wichita Falls. Graveside services were Monday, Jan. 8, at Antelope Cemetery with Bro. Will Aston officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.
Mr. Conner was born Oct. 20, 1913, Ryan, Okla., to the late Arthur and Gracie (West) Conner. He married Margaret Christian Feb. 16, 1935, in Ryan. He was a retired electrician with a 60-year membership to the IBEW Local Union 681 in Wichita Falls and a member of Antelope Baptist Church. He played baseball in the West Texas – New Mexico League
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Conner of Jacksboro; a daughter, Mary Lane Watson and husband Weldon of Antelope; a son, David Christian Conner and wife Carolyn of Dallas; a brother, Dick Conner and wife Una of Jacksboro; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

George Wesley Fry III
Former Jacksboro resident George Wesley Fry III, 21, of Bridgeport died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006. Funeral services were Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at Joplin Baptist Church with Dr. Loury Nero officiating. Burial followed at Bullard Cemetery in Reno under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.
Mr. Fry was born May 7, 1985, to George Wesley and Alicia (Sanchez) Fry Jr. He was a construction worker and a member of Joplin Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Lee Ross; and his grandparents, L.R. and Iris Belle Sanchez and Jack and Cathrine Fry.
Survivors include his parents, George Wesley and Alicia (Sanchez) Fry Jr. of Bridgeport; two sisters, Amie Marie Williams and husband Ronald of Fort Worth and Ginger Naron and husband Robert of Azle; and a brother, Cody Fry of Brownwood.

Louise Clifton
Louise Clifton, 60, of Chico, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, in Decatur. A memorial service was held Wednesday, Jan, 3, 2007, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Cates officiating. Burial followed at Chico Cemetery.
Mrs. Clifton was born Feb. 23, 1946, in Ryan, Okla., to the late George T. and Della (Phillips) Riddle. She married John R. “Catfish John” Clifton June 5, 1977, in Graham. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Nov. 15, 2006.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet Gregg of Fort Worth; a son, Donald Clifton and wife Barbara of Chico; three brothers, Troy Riddle and wife Brenda of Breckenridge, and Jerry Riddle and Carl Riddle and wife Sherry, all of Jacksboro; a sister, Gladys Lowther and husband Russell of Jacksboro; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

William L. 'Bill' Kinder
William L. “Bill” Kinder, 73, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, in Parsons, Kan.
Services were Thursday, Feb. 15, at Memorial Christian Church in Jacksboro with Galen Clark officiating.
Burial followed at Cottonwood Cemetery in Jack County under the direction of Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home.

Mary Irene (Thomas) Evans
Mary Irene (Thomas) Evans, 95, of Springfield, Mo., died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells.
Burial will follow at Woodland Park Cemetery in Mineral Wells.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday Feb. 18.

Foncine (Spangler) Rodgers
Former Jacksboro resident Foncine (Spangler) Rodgers, 80 of Weatherford died Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, in Weatherford.
Services were Sunday Feb. 11, at Coker Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Holland officiating.
Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery.

Lawrence David Jamison
Lawrence David Jamison, 85, of Abilene died Friday Feb. 2, 2007.
A private service was held Sunday, Feb. 4, at the Hicks Cemetery in Jack Couonty under the direction of North’s Funeral Home of Abilene.

Joseph Franklin Clay
Joseph Franklin Clay, 87, of Jacksboro, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2006, in Fort Worth.
Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 9, at Coker Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Loury Nero officiating.
Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery.

Thelma Arena Plaster
Thelma Arena Plaster, 86, died Monday, April 30, 2007, in Jacksboro.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 2, at Coker Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery.

Edward Loran Miller
The Rev. Edward Loran Miller, 79, of Jacksboro died Monday, April 30, 2007, in Gibtown. Funeral services were Thursday, May 3, at First United Methodist Church in Jacksboro with Pastor David Weber officiating. Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.
The Rev. Miller was born Feb. 18, 1928, in Farmers Branch to the late Willie Dee and Emmer Mae (Fleming) Miller. He married Mary Ben’dette Edwards July 3, 1946, in Pleasant Mound. He was minister at Jacksboro First United Methodist Church and a member of Fort Richardson Masonic Lodge and Jacksboro Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by a daughter; Patricia Beaver; two sisters Viola Robinson and Laura Henry; and two brothers, Roy Billy Miller and Robert Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ben’dette (Edwards) Miller of Jacksboro; two daughters, Edith Miller of Jacksboro and Juanita White and husband Dennis of Lake Kickapoo; two sons, David Miller of Fort Myers, Fla., and Timothy Miller and wife Sue Ann of Jacksboro; a sister, Ruth Edwards of Dallas; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jacksboro First United Methodist Church or the Faith Community Hospital Building Fund.

Kelvin Hughes Armstrong
Kelvin Hughes Armstrong, 43, died Monday, April 23, 2007, in a Fort Worth hospital.
Funeral services were Thursday, April 26, at First Baptist Church in Graham.
Burial followed at Winn Hill Cemetery in Jack County under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
