Services to remember his life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange with the Rev. Gary Wheeler, officiating.
Interment will follow services in the King Cemetery in Hartburg.
Stephen E. Pomeroy, Jr.
Stephen E. Pomeroy, Jr., 57 of New Orleans, passed away in Orange on Thursday, Dec. 22, after a lengthy battle with a strong attitude and vigorous fight with cancer.
He was born in Galveston, and raised in Orange, graduating from Stark High School in 1972.

Vinton, La. - Evelyn Barker Roberts, 87, of Vinton, La. passed away on Monday, Dec. 19, at The Meadows Nursing Home in Orange.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Dorman Funeral Home.
A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, Dec. 22, at 3 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

The Celebration of Life for Mrs. Minnie Jenkins, 88, of Orange, will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the El Bethel Baptist Church.
The Rev. Ricky Guillory is the pastor. The Rev. Anthony Reed, pastor of Phillip’s Temple C.M.E. Church of Houston, will deliver the Celebration Message.

Orange - Regan Blake Smitherman, 51, of Orange passed away on Sunday, Dec. 18.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, from 2 to 7 p.m. at Dorman Funeral Home; with Memorial Service held a 6 p.m.
Cremation will follow the services.
Betty Kathryn “Kitty” Bickham
Betty Kathryn “Kitty” Bickham, 73, of Deweyville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, at her home following an illness.
Services to honor her life will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the First Baptist Church in Deweyville with the Rev. Damon Bickham, officiating and the Rev. Brad Bickham handling the music.

Willie Inez Wilson, 86, of Lafayette, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 20, at her residence.
Funeral services to remember her life will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, Dec. 23, at the Friendship Church in Roganville.
Interment will follow services in the Friendship Cemetery next to the church.
Betty Jean Trantham
Betty Jean Trantham, 77, of West Orange passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at The Meadows Nursing Home.
She was a native of Bald Knob, Arkansas; born on Oct. 27, 1934 to the late Leona (Norris) and Albert Davis.
Madgie DeLoach
Madgie DeLoach, was the fifth child born to the late Sam and Essielean Turner Hobdy.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Union Hill Baptist Church, in Calvin, LA. Sis. DeLoach graduated from Pinecrest High School in Winnfield, LA.
She attended Vocation School and received a certificate as a Cosmetologist while living in Louisiana.
On Nov. 1, 1958, she was united in marriage to James Berry DeLoach.
To this union three children were born. Jacqueline Rachal (Joey), James Berry DeLoach, Jr. (Linda) and Veronica Una DeLoach (deceased).
In 1966, the family moved from Winnfield to Orange.
She attended Lamar University and received certification as a Medication Aide.
Madgie was employed at Jones Nursing Home for over 35 years.
After moving to Orange she and her family joined New Starlight Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member.
Later she moved her membership to Rising Star Baptist Church where she remained until her death.
She has worked in her church, serving as an usher, deaconess, pastor’s aide, and many other positions throughout her life.
Loving memories will be cherished by her family and friends. Husband, James DeLoach, Sr., Three Children: James DeLoach, Jr. (Linda), Kenosha, Wisconsin, Jacqueline Rachal (Joey), of Orange.
She was preceded in death by Brothers: Lutcher Ray Hobdy, Sam Hobdy, Jr. and Floyd Lee Hobdy and one sister Myrtle Ruth Turner.
She has one sister, Margaret Ann Hollingsworth (Perry), Winnfield, LA.
She has three grandchildren that were the joy of her life: Victoria Evon Rachal, Orange, James Berry DeLoach, III and Robert DeLoach of Kenosha, Wisconsin.
She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at Salem United Methodist Church from 4:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22.
Funeral services will begin at 6:00 p.m. after the visitation.

He was born to Kenneth Folk and Lana Langford in Childress, TX. on Oct. 21, 1985.

Pastor Leo Anderson, Sr., 71, of Orange, passed away Sunday, Dec. 18, at the Southeast Texas Medical Center in Port Arthur.
Born in Orange, on July 29, 1940, Rev. Leo Anderson was the son of Rev. Ira Daniel Anderson and Marie (Smith) Anderson.

He was born on June 9, 1938 in Nederland, to the late Thomas A. and Lillie Coates Spurlock.

Faye Doris Brackens 68 died Jan. 18, at Baptist Beaumont Hospital in Beaumont, after a short illness.
Mrs. Brackens was a native of Hemphill, and resided in Orange, for many years.
