Funeral services for Zane Prather, 72, of Hawkins were held October 23 at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory with Bro. Perry Crisp and Bettie Jane Varnon Garrett officiating.
Interment followed at Clifton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve Howeth, Bill Pearce, Phil Young, W.R. Powers, Joe Wallace, and Dale Sumrow.
Mr. Prather died October 20, 2009, at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. He was born October 5, 1937, in Point to Clifton and Oma Conrad Prather. He married Jo Ann Medders in Durant, Oklahoma, on December 21, 1957.
Prior to retirement, he was a test engineer for E-Systems and Raytheon in Greenville. He was a member of Park Street Baptist Church in Greenville and belonged to the Masonic Lodge #307 in Lone Oak.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann of Hawkins; daughters, Angela Sue Sumrow of Greenville, Tammie Ann Pearce and husband Bill of Navarre, Florida, Patty Zane Howeth and husband Steve of Cameron; sister, Sue Prather of Dallas; grandchildren, Brandi Allen, Shelby Pearce, David Pearce, Chris Pearce, Jessie Howeth, Nikkie Walthall, Kacey Howeth; great-grandchildren, Sydney and Dade Allen; and numerous other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Kate Louderman

Services for Kate Suzanne Louderman, 19 days, Alba, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at Sand Springs Baptist Church, Mineola, with Bro. Jim Parker officiating.
Burial will be in Pilgrim Rest No. 2 Cemetery, Golden, under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Baby Kate passed away Sunday, November 22, 2009, in a Longview hospital.
She was born November 3, 2009, in Longview, to Marc and Jennifer Jones Louderman.
Survivors include parents, Marc and Jennifer Louderman of Alba; brothers, Samuel Louderman and Will Louderman of Alba; grandparents, Phil and Sue Jones of Alba, Charles and Nadra Louderman of Mineola; great-grandparents, Virgil and Fay Roach of Alba, Phyllis Lappe of Grand Saline, and Nannie Erwin of Mineola; and numerous other relatives.
Ernest H. Taylor
1927 - 2009
Funeral services for Ernest H. Taylor, 81, of Mabank were held Monday, November 23, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel in Mabank with Rev. Danny Dennie officiating.
Burial followed at the Colony Cemetery in Alba.
Mr. Taylor died November 19, 2009, in Malakoff. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a deacon at Payne Springs Baptist Church, which he loved.
Suvivors include his wife, Margie Taylor of Mabank; sons, Jim Taylor and wife Lisa of Phoenix, Arizona, Mack Taylor and wife Connie of Payne Springs; daughters, Dianne Bertling and husband Richard of Phoenix, Arizona, Debi Harlow and husband Ed of Edgewood; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other family members; and many friends.
Arrangements were under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
LM "Bunker" Braziel
1934 - 2009
Funeral services for LM “Bunker” Braziel, 75, were held Thursday, December 17, at Emory Baptist Church. Rev. Billy Smith, Bro. David Baker, Rev. Kelly Krone and John Robert Braziel officiated.
Burial followed at Emory City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl Good, Bill Faughtenberry, Jason Rabe, Robert Pearson Braziel, Daniel Mark Richardson, and Landon Lee Williams.
Honorary pallbearers were Bob Sisk, Earl Clyde Hill, Phillip Haupt, James Hogue, Dan Richardson, Bill Garrett, Roy Stephens, Eddy Rabe, and other close friends.
Mr. Braziel died in the early hours of Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler. He was born in Greenville on August 23, 1934, to Leo M. and Frances Rachel Pearson Braziel. He was a member of Emory Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher for many years.
“Bunker,” as he was known, finished high school in Emory in 1951 as valedictorian of his class. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1955 and served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force.
He received a law degree from the School of Law at the University of Texas in 1965.
Mr. Braziel married Scherry Perkins in Wolfe City on June 3, 1970. He was elected Rains County Attorney in 1970 and served in that office for more than 25 years. In addition to serving as President of the Emory Lions Club, he was President of the Rains County Fair Association, was the Charter Master of the Mars Hill Masonic Lodge in Emory, was a member of the Yantis Lodge and was named a Distinguished Alumni of Rains High School in 2005.
Survivors include his wife Scherry Braziel of Emory; daughter Kristi Ann Williams and son-in-law Landon of Emory; brother John Robert Braziel and wife Kay of Austin; and grandchildren MacGregor London Lee Williams and Landon McCallon Kolt Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Vesuvius Lee Williams in 2008.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mars Hill Masonic Lodge.

Rayford Ray Briggs
1937 - 2009
Funeral services for Rayford Ray Briggs will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, at the First Baptist Church of Point with Rev. Jay Sikes and Rev. Jim Boyte officiating.
Burial will follow in Hooker Cemetery.
Mr. Briggs died Friday, December 18, at the VA Hospital in Dallas. He was born September 6, 1937, in Point to Thurman Jerome and Leona Pearl Spencer Briggs.
He married Margaret Elaine Jacks in Durant, Oklahoma. They would have celebrated 48 years of marriage in January.
He served in the U. S. Army during the early 1960s. He owned and operated an automobile repair shop for many years.
Mr. Briggs served as Rains County Commissioner for Precinct 4 for approximately 16 years. He was a Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Point for approximately 30 years and was also a volunteer fireman for the Point Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Briggs of Point; daughter, Susan Roberts and husband Drew of Point; son, Johnny Briggs and wife Delinda of Emory; brothers, Orville Briggs and wife Clodell, Willie Joe “Buddy” Briggs and wife Clarene, and Robert Earl Briggs and wife Patricia; sisters, Maxine Sherwood, Margie Shinpaugh and husband Ray, Peggy Clem and husband Tommy; grandchildred, Elaine Louise Briggs, Lisa Katherine Briggs, Jordan Lanae Briggs, Charles Galloway Barrow III, Franchesca Elaine Barrow, Tiffani Michelle Roberts, Andrew Dale Roberts; and great-grandchildren, Trinity Barrow, Jayden Barrow, Kyler Knight, Allei Davis, and Teagan Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and one sister.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Point.

Bobby Clifton
1940 - 2009
Graveside services for Bobby Clifton, 69, of Emory were held December 20 in Clifton Cemetery with Rev. Billy Smith officiating.
Mr. Clifton died Friday, December 18, 2009, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler. He was born in Emory on September 18, 1940, to John Robert and Zella Ratliff Clifton.
He served in the U.S. Army following graduation from high school. During his working profession, he was a machinist in a battery manufacturing company.
Survivors include sons, Robert Barry Clifton of Sulphur Springs, Michael David Clifton of Point, and Cody Clifton of Emory; daughters, Mary Catherine Clifton of Grand Saline, Elizabeth Ann Palin of East Tawakoni; sister, Odessa Turner of Emory; brothers, Fred Clifton of Emory, Wayne Clifton of Emory, Raymond Clifton of Point, and Buford Wayne “Boots” Clifton of Dallas; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers.
Anthony Doyal Henson

Services for Anthony Doyal “Tony” Henson, 64, of Mesquite, formerly of Alba, were held Thursday, December 17, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home Chapel, Alba, with Pastor Sylvestor Matthews officiating.
Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba. Pallbearers were Charles Smith, Larry Williams, Phillip Ramsey, Alex Vasquez, Joe Sporel, Arthur Garcia, Fidel Guerra, Jody Hudson, and Eddie Green.
Mr. Henson passed away Monday, December 14, 2009, in a Mesquite hospital.
He was born October 25, 1945, in Levelland to the late Doyal and Velma Gray Henson. He grew up in Alba and lived his adult life in Mesquite. He served in the U.S. Marines, was a supervisor at a frozen food warehouse, and a member of Open Door Baptist Church, Mesquite.
Survivors include Linda Williams of Terrell; stepson, Larry Williams of Terrell; grandchildren, Jana Williams and Sophia Williams both of Terrell; nieces, Teresa Morales of Dallas and Lynn Holder of Mesquite; aunt, Vonnie Eads of Tyler; and great- nieces and nephew, Danielle, Michael, Amee, Amanda, and Alicia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Walter Reeves; sister, Rita Mills; and aunt, Vada Caldwell.
J.B. Northcutt
1931 - 2009
Funeral services for J.B. Northcutt, 78, of Point will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 24, at the First Baptist Church in Point with Bro. Jay Sikes officiating.
Mr. Northcutt died at Green Acres Nursing Home in Emory. He was called home to be with his Lord on Monday morning, December 21, 2009. He was born in Point on July 23, 1931, the son of Davis Edgar and Eva Lee Bullard Northcutt.
He married Cora Coleen Wallace on May 30, 1949, in Greenville. They shared 61 years of marriage. J.B. was owner and operator of his own house-moving and house-building business. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Point.
Survivors include his wife, Coleen of Point; daughters, Sandra Suites and husband Pete, and Janet Holder and husband Richard, all of Point; sons, David Northcutt and wife Sondra of Wolfe City, Michael Northcutt and wife Jodie, and Johnny Northcutt and wife Lori, all of Point; sisters, Nancy White and husband James, and Francis Merchant, all of Point; brothers, James Northcutt of Point, and Jody Northcutt of Campbell; 14 grandchildren; 16 and one on-the-way great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, at the Point Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Nadine Barrett, in 2009, and one granddaughter, Traci Suites, in 2009.

Onelia Faye Taylor
1943 - 2009
Onelia Faye Taylor passed away Saturday, December 19, 2009, at her residence in Emory.
She was born August 26, 1943, in Coleman to Edgar O. and Ola Faye Conway Lowe. She married Jack L. Taylor on May 25, 1962, in McKinney.
Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker.
Suvivors include her husband, Jack L. Taylor of Emory; son, Michael L. Taylor of Princeton, daughters, Deborah Lynn Gatten of Little Elm and Jodie Faye Calbert of McKinney; grandchildren, Kelsea Lee Calbert, Tyler Joseph Gatten, Hayden Taylor, and Lane Taylor; three sisters; one brother; and numerous other family, friends and her “Bingo Buddies.”
She was preceded in death by her parents.
