Funeral services for Sandra Lorene Tadlock Wood, 46, of Point will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Wolfe officiating.
Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery. Pallbearers are Johnny Wood, Daniel Taylor, Junior Bullard, Ronnie Burns, Eddie Burns and Richard Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Odie Wayne Taylor and Joe Ben Combs.
Mrs. Wood died at 1:55 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.
She was born Dec. 31, 1957, in Grand Saline to Al and Dorothy Stewart Tadlock. She married Welcom Wood in Oklahoma on March 26, 1976. Mrs. Wood was employed by Brookshire’s as a meat wrapper for 11 years. She was a member of Emory Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of Point; two sons and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Wendy Kirkpatrick and Johnny Wood, all of Emory; daughter-and son-in-law, Amie and Chris Adams of Emory; mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Odie Wayne Taylor of Emory; three brothers, Al Tadlock of Winnsboro, Leslie Taylor of Alba and Richard Taylor of Henderson; sisters, Brenda Fugitt of Sumner, Paula Pundsack of Granite Shoals and Joy Higgins of Alabama; grandchildren, Chris, Chasity, Molly, Kelton and another one due in September.
She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents, Ben and Myrtle Tadlock and Ed and Molly Stewart; one niece, Misty Dawn Humphrey; and one great-niece.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00.
Vernon L. Burns
1937 - 2004
Funeral services for Vernon L. Burns, 67, of Lone Oak were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 20, at Point Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jay Sikes officiating.
Burial followed in Hooker Cemetery with Joe Moss serving as a pallbearer.
Mr. Burns died at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville on Thursday, December 16.
He was born in Hunt County on November 21, 1937, to Joe Sier Burns and Zella Irene Burns. He was a farmer and a Baptist.
Survivors include brothers, J.D. Burns and wife Lorine, Billy Burns and wife Rosa; sisters, Mary Jo Darden and husband Paul; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Burns was preceded in death by his parents.

Chester Thomas Frost
1930-2004
Graveside services for Chester Thomas Frost, 74, of Point will be at Lynch Cemetery Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Billy Hickman officiating.
Mr. Frost died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.
He was born in Damascus, Ark. on April 28, 1930, to William and Lora Evelyn Lewis Frost.
He married Lydia Mae Pruitt Sept. 3, 1949, in Danville, Ark.
He worked as a farm hand.
He is survived by his wife Lydia of Point; sons, Dennis and wife Sharon Frost of Avenue, Md.; David and wife Joann Frost of Emory; and Russell and wife Donna Frost of Point; sister, Irene Broadstock of Ft. Smith, Ark.; brothers, Perry Frost of Arkansas; and Lee Roy Frost of Mena, Ark.; grandchildren, Christopher Frost, Russell Frost Jr., Laura Smith, Deanna Byrd, David Thomas Frost, Daniel Frost, Katrina Frost, Jennifer Sullivan, and Dewayne Sullivan; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.

Thomas Elvis Hamm

Funeral services for Thomas Elvis Hamm, age 102 of Sulphur Springs were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 17, at West Oaks Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.
Burial followed at Enon Cemetery in Alba. Pallbearers were Edward Bayse, Vernon Davis, William McDowell, Gordon Ford, John Sharber, and Charlie Charles. Honorary pallbearers were the Radio Bible Class of First Baptist Church.
Mr. Hamm died Tuesday, December 14, at 10:45 a.m. at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Hamm was born in Alba on November 16, 1902, the son of James and Dillie Cain Thomas. He married Jimmie Leach in Alba.
He was a member of the singing group, 4H Quartet, and was a member of the Radio Bible Class of First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Truby Rice of Sulphur Springs; one sister, Lila Pope of Alba; five granddaughters, Teresa Sims of Metairie, La., Donna Harbor of Garland, Cynthia Sandavol of Sulphur Springs, Marjorie Gilbreth of Clyde, and Linda Brockman of Abilene; four grandsons, Thomas Hamm of Wylie, Billy Hamm of Conway, Jimmy and James Hamm of Abilene; eight great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, Jimmie Leach Hamm and Belvagene Dixon Hamm, one brother, four sisters, and two sons.
Memorials may be made to The Radio Bible Class at First Baptist Church.

Elsie Moore

Services for Elsie Elizabeth Moore, 68, of Grapeland were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at Grace Bible Church, Grapeland, under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Grapeland.
Pallbearers were Chris Watson, Sammy Catoe, Randy Duhon, James Clark, Kurt Caveness and Jerry Bud Rhone. Honorary pallbearers were James Watson, Carl Moore Jr., Josh Ellis, Curtis Lewis Jr., Greg Whitt, Jason Whitt and Jason Hallmark.
Mrs. Moore died December 14 at her residence.
She was born Sept. 14, 1936, in Dallas to the late Theo and Judith Darr Lemons. She was a homemaker and member of Grace Bible Church.
Survivors include daughters, Elizabeth Ellis of Rockwall, Amanda Bailey of Grapeland, Tammy Moore of Mason City, Iowa, Sharon Horrocks of Emory, and Kim Catoe of Crockett; sons, James Watson, Carl Moore Jr. and Chris Watson, all of Grapeland, and Keith Moore of Emory; sister, Sue Lemons of Caddo Mills; brothers, Walter Lemons of Quinlan, and Kenneth Lemons of Palestine; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Moore; son, William Carl Moore; sister, Ruth Wilson; and brothers, Bill Lemons and Clifford Darr.
Seth Thomas

Funeral services for Seth Zachary Thomas, 20, of Caddo Mills were held Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 2:00 p.m., at Faith Bible Church in Caddo Mills with Rev. Randall Bost officiating.
Burial was at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Caddo Mills.
Mr. Thomas died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, in Dallas from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
He was born Aug. 26, 1984, in Plano to Zack and Jean Carpenter Thomas. He was a student.
He is survived by his parents of Caddo Mills; a brother, Sean Thomas of Caddo Mills; grandparents Jack Thomas of Las Vegas, Nev., Barbara Calohan of Kansas City, Kan., Chuck Carpenter of Point, and Sue Hill of Dansville, N.Y.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Winnie Winn

Services for Winnie Lee Winn, 86, Mineola, were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Northside Baptist Church in Mineola with Brothers James Wheat and Ellis Powell officiating.
Burial was in Concord Cemetery under the direction of Beaty Funeral Home, Mineola. Pallbearers were Mark Koonce, Richard Koonce, Jim Turner, Adam Koonce, Dale Farmer and Dennis Russell.
Mrs. Winn died December 14 in Tyler.
She was born September 9, 1918, in Wood County to the late William Riley and Beatrice Saxon Farmer and lived in Mineola most of her life. She was a pharmacy sales clerk, and member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Sylvia Sims, Emory, and Linda Davis, Mineola; sister, Minnie Russell, Palestine; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Leon Winn; brothers, O.J. Farmer, Coleman Farmer, Dewey Farmer, and Burley Farmer; and sister, Faye Powell.
Bill Brock

Funeral services for Billy Ray Brock, 79, of Lone Oak, were held Monday, Nov. 12, at Lone Oak Community Church. Pastor Eugene Green officiated.
Burial was at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Caddo Mills.
Mr. Brock died Friday, November 9, 2007, at Presby-terian Hospital in Dallas.
He was born September 17, 1928, in McKinney to William L. and Pearl Commins Brock.
He married Frances Oretha Rogers in Wills Point on July 2, 1971.
Mr. Brock was independently employed as owner/operator of a long-haul trucking business.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Brock of Lone Oak; children, Marsha Rountree of Austin, Tracy Brock of Lone Oak, Dorothy Searcy of Quinlan, Kenneth Brock of Chicago, Ill., and Mark Alexander of Living-ston, La.; brother, Kenneth Wayne Brock of Dallas; sisters, Doris Simpson of McKinney and Sharon Warren of Plano; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one granddaughter, Brynn Goldberg, in 1986.

Jerry Dean Dykes

A memorial gathering for Jerry Dean Dykes, age 65, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 12:00 noon, Sunday, November 18, at 3359 South Highway 19.
Jerry Dean Dykes passed away Thursday morning, No-vember 8, 2007, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. He was born in Durant, Oklahoma, on May 19, 1942, the son of Joe Dykes, Sr. and Margie Faye Clover Dykes. He married Cindy Casey in Durant, Oklahoma, on February 14, 1978; she survives. Mr. Dykes was a welder. He was of the Mormon faith. He served in the United States Navy.
Other survivors include three sons, Jeremy Dean Dykes of Greenville, Jody Ray Dykes and Joe Dan Dykes, both of Sulphur Springs; sister, Lisa Clinton of Cleara, Oklahoma, and three grandchildren, Nathaniel Jacob Dykes, Daylynn Kay Dykes and Janeigh Dawn Dykes.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Daniel Lee Emig

Funeral services for Daniel Lee Emig, 54, formerly of Emory, were held Satur-day, November 10, at Belvue Baptist Church in Hobbs, New Mexico, with the Rev. Benny Greenlee officiating. Burial followed at Prairie Haven Memorial Park also in Hobbs, N.M.
Mr. Emig died November 5, 2007, in Hobbs as the result of a motorcycle accident.
He was born on June 2, 1953 in Dover, Penn. to Howard and Phyllis Emig. He married Misty Dawn Mitchell on June 7, 1997, in Christoval.
Daniel, known affectionally to family and friends as Bug Eyes, was a Christian and loved his wife, children and family. He enjoyed helping others, building furniture and motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife Misty Dawn, El Paso; children Will Emig, Hobbs, N.M., Dylan Davenport and Rainie Skye Emig, both of El Paso; mother Phyllis Emig of Emory; brothers Ed Emig and wife Carolyn of Emory, Tom Emig and wife Kim and Don Emig and wife Cathy, all of Garland; father- and mother-in-law Max and Dee Gilmore of Hobbs, N.M.; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Howard and brothers David and Bud.
