Billie June (Martin) Dirks of George West, 70, died Saturday, April 19, 2003.
She was born in George West on Oct. 26, 1932, to June T. and Luciel (Blackmon) Martin.
She married Robert L. Dirks in Fort Smith, Ark., on Oct. 11, 1952.
Mrs. Dirks was a homemaker and a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Dirks of George West; a daughter, Marcia Dirks of Wimberley; a son, Paul Martin (Kathryn) Dirks of Corpus Christi; four grandchildren, Kristin Marie Acock, Lynlie Marie Wallace, Abigail Wallace and Jack Carpenter Wallace III; a sister, Marjorie Altenhoff of New Braunfels; a brother, Travis Martin of George West; and aunts, Bula Barry and Ann Fair, both of George West.
Visitation was held Monday at the Galloway & Sons Chapel in Beeville.
The funeral was held at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Adrian Amaya officiating.
Burial followed at the Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville.
Pallbearers were Bobby Jacob, Donnie Watkins, Dick McGee, Jack Carpenter Wallace III, J.W. Turner and David Altenhoff.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Hardwick, Darwin Altenhoff, Richard Dirks, Lee Dirks and Wayne Dirks.

Dupont
Leland Dupont, 77, died Monday, April 21, 2003.
He was born Jan. 4, 1926, in Port Arthur.
Mr. Dupont retired as a colonel in the United States Army Reserves (Civil Affairs).
He was a scheduler for Public Works at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi.
He was a life member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and a board member for 10 years.
He was also a life member of ROA, the VFW Post 8920 in Orange Grove and a faithful servant of Faith Church United Church of Christ in Orange Grove.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Dupont; two sons, Leland L. (Mary) Dupont II of Muldoon and Chris A. (Cindy) Dupont of Baltimore, Md.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Dupont of Corpus Christi and Charles Dupont of Nocona; and two sisters, Peggy Wilbur of Baton Rouge, La., and Sue Dupont of Corpus Christi.
Visitation will be held at Seaside Funeral Home in Corpus Christi today (Wednesday) from 1 to 9 p.m.
The funeral will be held at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Wade Fuhrken officiating.
Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Hugh Vickers, Ruben Salinas, Manuel Garcia, Felix Pospech, Allen Marciniak and Joe Veit.

Forehand
Dora Forehand died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at her residence in Victoria, following a long illness.
Mrs. Forehand retired from the Alice Independent School District where she was employed for 25 years.
Survivors include her husband, Orem Forehand of Victoria; three sons, Chuck Forehand of Victoria, James Forehand of Corpus Christi and Paul Forehand of Tomball; two daughters, Sue Bryant of Liberty Hill and Diane Fauth of Victoria; one brother, Nick Mutz of Poth; one sister, Mary Gembler of San Antonio; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Wednesday, April 16, at the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in Alice.
The funeral was held Thursday, April 17, at 2 p.m. at the West Main Baptist Church in Alice with the Rev. David Parks officiating.
Burial followed in the Three Rivers Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jim Forehand, Kyle Forehand, T.J. Forehand, Alan Bryant, Tim Forehand, Keith Forehand and Josh Fauth.

Roberta S. House, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, in a Victoria hospital following a short illness.
She had been residing in Cuero since 1994 with her daughter and son-in-law.
Mrs. House was born Aug. 26, 1918, to the late John Hugh and Alice (Quinn) Scott in Travis.
She married Taze T. House of Three Rivers in April 1939.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Three Rivers and was the former owner of House Hardware.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Survivors include a son, Bobby (Pat) House of Three Rivers; a daughter, Kathy (Henry) Luddeke of Cuero; three grandsons, Robert Todd House of Burleson and Dustin and Rowdy House, both of San Marcos; two granddaughters, Lacey Luddeke and Lindsay Luddeke of The Woodlands; one great-grandson; three great-granddaughters; one sister, Mildred Brawn of Baytown; and one brother, Jake Scott of Brownwood.
Visitation was held Friday at the Roberson Funeral Home.
A graveside service was held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Three Rivers Cemetery.

Valdez
Santiago Valdez Sr., 54, of Anchorage, Alaska, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002.
Mr. Valdez was born Oct. 26, 1948, in George West to Alicia Ybañez and Ismael Valdez.
He married Celia Garcia on June 5, 1971, in Kingsville.
He was a member of the Baptist church and was a utility power lineman.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Celia Valdez of Anchorage, Alaska; two sons, Santiago (Christy) Valdez Jr. of Seattle, Wash., and Luiz (Susie) Valdez of San Antonio; a sister, Genoveva Valdez of Mt. Vernon, Wash.; his mother, Alicia Ybañez Valdez of Kenedy; and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation and a prayer service were held Friday at the Galloway & Sons chapel in Beeville.
The funeral was held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Central Baptist Church in Kingsville, with the Rev. Servando Torres and Pastor Bob Hobbins officiating.
Burial was at the George West Cemetery at 2 p.m.

Mr. Hadamek
Dave H. Hadamek, 79, of George West died on June 6, 2007.
He was a retired ranch foreman.
He was born to Henry and Mary (Pawlik) Hadamek on December 29, 1927.
He was a member of St. George Catholic Church.
He is survived by two brothers; John (Sylvia) Hadamek of Ruidoso, New Mexico; Daniel (Geri) Hadamek of Beeville; one sister, Cecilia Steffens of Buhl, Idaho; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 8 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West.
Rosary was held Friday evening at 7 p.m at Galloway & Sons Chapel.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 9 at St. George Catholic Church.
Burial was at St. George Cemetery with Fr. Joseph Olikkara officiating.
