Mrs. Sciba
Mrs. Mabel Lucille Sciba, 89, of Beeville, died on Friday, April 25, 2008.
She was born in Sherman on April 20, 1919, to Oda M. Wesson and Willie Eugene Freasier. She married Welby Joe Sciba in Swinney Switch on Sept. 1, 1937. She worked for Bonhams for five years and then for Zimmer Floral for 12 years as a designer. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Jan. 16, 1988, and two brothers, Russell Boyd Johnson and Billy Paul Freasier.
Survivors include one daughter, Juanita Rathke of Goliad, two sons, Joe Eugene (Jeanette) Sciba of Florida and Kenneth (Nancy) Sciba of Beeville; one brother, Kenneth Freasier of George West; one sister, Lena Mae Haney of Cadiz; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Galloway & Sons chapel. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Cadiz Baptist Church in the Cadiz community with Rev. R.C. Jeanes officiating. Interment followed at Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Reagan Tindol, Charles Ford, Larry Lee, Scott Stevens, Dennis Stephenson and Johnny Bass. Honorary pallbearer was Leon Svetlik.

Mrs. Burger
Georgia Williams Custer Burger, age 88, of George West died on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 in a local nursing home following an extended illness.
She was born to George and Gertrude Armstrong Williams in Alice on August 5. 1919. Her father passed away one day before she was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Gertrude Maguglin, two husbands, David W. Custer and Harry Burger, Jr.
Her survivors include her children, Larry Custer of Three Rivers, David (Rose Marie) Custer of Corpus Christi, and Janice (Sonny) Johnson of Three Rivers; brother, Verlon (Esteline) Maguglin of Live Oak County and a sister, Lahla DuBose of Live Oak County; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 18 at 4 p.m. at the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in George West with Rev. Larry Cash officiating. Graveside funeral services were held on Saturday, April 19 at noon at the Miller Creek Cemetery in Johnson City with Rev. Larry Cash officiating.

Gilbert Heritage Garcia, 70, of Three Rivers died on Tuesday, April 15, 2008. He was a pipefitter and member of First Assembly of God Church.
He was born to Elidio and Carolina (Heritage) Garcia on August 22, 1937 in Tilden. He married Martha Lopez Garcia in Three Rivers on June 7, 1987.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elidio and Carolina Garcia; three brothers, Jose H. Garcia, Alejandro Garcia and Antonio Garcia; two sisters, Elida Gutierrez and Frances Guajardo.
His survivors include his wife, Martha Lopez Garcia of Three Rivers; three sons, Thomas (Michelle) Garcia of Corpus Christi, Carlos Garcia of Three Rivers, Gilbert A. Garcia of Three Rivers; two daughters, Carolina (Hakan) Palabiyik of Houston, Gilda (Daniel) Ramirez of Three Rivers; one brother, Elidio H. (Dolores) Garcia of Three Rivers; two sisters, Ofelia Diaz of Three Rivers, Paula Espinoza of San Antonio and seven grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17 from 11 a.m to 9 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Chapel in Three Rivers. Prayer service was held Thursday, April 17 at 7 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel. Funeral service was held Friday, April 18 at 2 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel with Pastor Kenny Shelton officiating. Interment followed at Three Rivers Cemetery.

Mrs. Mardock
Frances Louise Mardock, age 58, died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at her residence in Corpus Christi following a sudden illness. She was a bookkeeper for Business Product Supply in Corpus Christi.
She was born to Elde and Helen (Gazaway) Buetow on September 16, 1949 in Three Rivers. She married Richard Mardock on July 21, 1968 and they made their home in Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elde Buetow.
Her survivors include her husband, Richard Mardock of Corpus Christi; two sons, Geoffrey (Christine) Mardock of Marengo, Illinois, Jason Mardock of Corpus Christi; one daughter, Julie Nicole (Daniel) Rapp of Corpus Christi; mother, Helen Buetow of Three Rivers; sister, Darene (Tracy) Chowns of Three Rivers; four grandchildren, Brenden Kemper Rapp, Madalyn Emilia Mardock, Ally Keagan Rapp and Daschle Troy Mardock.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 18 from 6-9 p.m. at Roberson Funeral Home in Three Rivers. Graveside service was held Saturday, April 19 at 2 p.m. at the Calliham Cemetery in Calliham.

Mr. Thomson
Richard James “Jim” Thomson, age 77, of George West died on Friday, April 18. 2008. He was a retired teacher from GWISD and an ordained minister. He was a member of First Baptist Church of George West and served as a hospital corpsman in the US Navy.
He was born to Richard and Nancy Birdie Sweeten Thomson in Phoenix, Arizona on December 20, 1930. He married Wilda Mary Phifer in Houston on June 14, 1963.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilda Thomson.
His survivors include his daughters, Nancy (Scott) Thomson Esparza of Corpus Christi, Mary (David) Thomson Allen of Leakey; four grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth Esparza, Abigail Anee Esparza, Kayla Marie Allen, Kristopher David Allen; a brother, Paul Thomson of Phoenix, AZ; three sisters, Martha Jenkins of Phoenix, Arizona, Althea Harrison of Oklahoma, Rhea Janice Thomson of San Diego, California.
Visitation was held Sunday, April 20 from 1-2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in George West. Funeral service was held Sunday, April 20 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Irving officiating. Interment followed at George West Cemetery.

Mr. Campbell
Bradley Wayne Campbell, 56, of Three Rivers died on Friday, April 11, 2008. He was a land and construction surveyor and member of the Methodist Church.
He was born to Lewis and Mary (Ingram) Campbell in Connelsville, Pennsylvania on January 13, 1952. He married Dolores Trevino in Live Oak County on August 10, 1984.
His survivors include his wife, Dolores Campbell of Three Rivers; step-son, Joe (Michell) White of San Diego, CA; a brother, Johnny (Barbie) Campbell of San Antonio; two sisters, Kathy (Wesley) Graves of Austin, Susan (Danny) Ross of Three Rivers; step-grandson, Joseph Richard White.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel in Three Rivers. Prayer service was held on Sunday, April 13 at 7 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel in Three Rivers with Rev. Mary Rodriguez officiating. Halia Pepper Willa Cummins Dabbs, infant, of Mathis, died on Thursday, April 10, 2008.
Survivors include her parents, Matthew Dabbs and Tisha Cummins of Mathis; two sisters, Annie Beliz and Abrm Layn Cummins Dabbs; maternal grandparents, Richard and Bobbie Cummins of Bloomington and Marty (Lynn) Chester of Mathis; paternal great-grandparents, Andrew (Joyce) Dabbs of Lyons and Barbara (Calvin) Bunton of Las Cruces, N.M.; maternal great-grandmother, Sybil Beck of Bloomington; and paternal great-grandmother, Marion Upton of Mathis.
A private memorial service will be held.

Mr. Haag
Herman William Haag, age 93, of Three Rivers died on Saturday, April 12, 2008 in a local nursing home following an extended illness. He was a veteran of World War II in the U. S. Army.
Mr. Haag was born to Ed and Clara Haag on November 13, 1914 in Taylor. He was married to Marie Emma (Roeske) Haag on September 23, 1942.
His survivors include his wife, Marie Haag of Three Rivers; two sons, Herbert (Margaret) Haag of Sinton, Edward (Lynett) Haag of Three Rivers; three grandchildren, William (Marisa) Haag of Three Rivers, Steven Haag of Sinton, Elizabeth Marie Haag of Austin; two great grandchildren, Magen Haag and Hunter Haag; two sister-in-laws, Louise Raymond of Three Rivers and Annie Haag of George West.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 14 beginning at noon in the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 15 at 10 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Three Rivers. Interment followed at Three Rivers Cemetery.
