Mr. Scott
Billy Roy Scott, Sr. , 72, of George West died on Monday, Jan. 14, 2008. He was a retired custodian supervisor for Elgin ISD.
He was born to George and Sally Ruth (Fraiser) Scott Sr. on Jan. 22, 1935 in Manor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Kevin Scott and one sister, Belle Terashita.
He is survived by a son, Billy Scott of Austin; two daughters, Sharon Scott and Karen Scott; four brothers, George Scott, Jr. of Elgin, Fred Scott of Manor, Dennis Scott of Manor, Walter Scott of Shiner; four sisters, Dee Gattis of McDay, Betty Lou Walker of Granfield, OK, Sue Atkins of Elgin, Sammy Barksdale of Bastrop; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Graveside memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. at Lockwood Cemetery in Manor.

Mrs. Sikes
Norma D. Sikes, 71, died on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, after an extended illness at a local nursing home. She worked as a bookkeeper.
She was born to Ira Otto and Claudia (Ward) Butler on April 17, 1936 in Meadow.
She was preceded in death by her husband Terry Sikes and a son, Jay Mark Sikes.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Clark of Alpine and Lydia Tate of Odessa; two step-daughters, Pam Mathis of Ben Bolt and Pennie Parker of Swinney Switch; a step-son, Gary Sikes of Orange Grove; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial funeral service was held Friday, Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in George West.

Mrs. Tate
Helen Frances Tate, 86, of Beeville, died on Monday, Jan. 21, 2008.
She was born in Sibley, Iowa, on April 25, 1921, to Mayne and Dr. Frank Winkler. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Beeville and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Severa.
Survivors include one daughter, Jean (William) Mitchell of Beeville; one son, Ronnie (Florence) Tate of Kingsville ; one sister, Florence Bailey of Bartlesville, OK; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Galloway & Sons Chapel in Beeville with Pastor Don Taylor officiating.

Mrs. Davis
Mrs. Martha Davis, 57, of Baytown, died on April 7, 2008 at her residence, after a long struggle with heart disease.
She was born to Jessy Franklin Gray, Jr. and the former Margery Eleanor Walker on April 25, 1950 in Three Rivers. She was a 1969 graduate of Three Rivers High School. Once settled in Baytown, she received her Associate’s degree in accounting from Lee College.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lillian Pauline and Elaine Frances Gray; grandparents, Clarence E. “Whitey” and Martha Goe Walker; and the former Texas State Representative from Live Oak County, Jessy F. Gray, Sr. and Pauline Campbell Gray.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. Edgar (Eddie) Franklin Davis and John Davis; aunts and uncles, Margaret Campbell, Marion Walker, Mary Burnett, Marshal Walker, a host of cousins and a large extended family.
Honorary pallbearers were Kathy Anderson, Jeanie Herrington, Cindy Heselmeyer, Margaret Cottrill, Katy O’Neal, Donna Mills, Jim Herrington, Lee Heselmeyer, Robb Collette, Charles Anderson and Cody Herrington.
Funeral services was held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 11 at San Jacinto Memorial Funeral Home in Houston with the Reverend Raymond Van Buskirk officiating the service.

Mr. Harrison
Mr. Charles Alton Harrison, Jr., of Greenbrier, Arkansas, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in Mississippi at the age of 41. Alton was born November 22, 1966 in Casa Grande, Arizona to Charles and Carolyn (Vaughn) Harrison. He attended George West High School and graduated in 1987. Alton joined the Army after graduation.
Survivors include his mother Carolyn of Blanco, OK., two brothers Carl (Sandra) Harrison and Bradley A. Harrison, two nieces Megan and Morgan Shurtz and one nephew Devin Harrison, and numerous other family and friends.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 29, at 2 p.m. at Blanco Cemetery, Blanco, OK. Military honors was provided by the American Legion Harrison Powers Post #79.

Mr. McCumber
Mr. Rocky McCumber, 43, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, following a sudden illness.
He was born to John T. and Ann (Work) McCumber on Sept. 19, 1964, in Beeville. He was a tool pusher in the oilfield industry for Pioneer Drilling.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann McCumber; and his daughter, Jesseka McCumber.
Survivors residing in George West include, one daughter, Mallerie McCumber; his father, John T. McCumber; one brother, John T. (Shellie) McCumber Jr.; his fiancée, Chance Byars; one step-daughter, Blake Byars; nieces and nephews, Jake, Taylor and Joseph McCumber; and many cousins and friends.
Visitation was to be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in George West. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. tonight at St. George Catholic Church of George West. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 10 a.m. Thursday followed by interment in the Gussettville Cemetery in Gussettville.
Pallbearers will be Beau Hardcastle, Randy Williams, Scotty Gaspar, Earl Fisher, Bubba Catchings, James Estes, Paul Phillips and Rodney Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Jake McCumber, Joseph McCumber, Tyler McCumber, Douglas Taylor, Ben Henicke, Emitt Henicke, J.D. Lewis, Ross Gilliam, Austin Gilliam, Zack Johnson, John Martinez, Ronnie Mayfield, Lloyd Wientjes, Greg Teal, Rosendo Perez, Leon Work, Joel Martinonie, Al Lee Taylor and Tanner McCumber.
In lieu of floral remembrances, donations may be made to the South Texas Children’s Home in Mineral or to the American Heart Association.

Mr. Reagan
Mr. Adam ‘Pete’ Reagan Jr., 87, died Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Christus Spohn Beeville following an extended illness. He was a Veteran of World War II serving his country in the US Army.
He was born to Adam and Stella (Rutherford) Reagan Sr. on Feb. 27, 1921 in Kennedy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his children: Jackie Faye Sullivan, also his wives: Ethel Murray Reagan and Doris Moehrig Reagan; son, Jack “Cowboy” Reagan; brothers, Bill Reagan and Leon Reagan; sisters, Ruth Vosberg and Francine Hadley.
He is survived by a daughter, Debbie Thompson of Corpus Christi, and a daughter-in-law, Verna Reagan of Corpus Christi; six grandchildren, Sharra (Bruce) Wofford, D’Ann Moore, Danny (JJ) Thompson, Kaiona (Gabe) Villegas and Jackie (Brad) Hill and Truman Reagan; a sister, Donna Faye Baxter of San Antonio; nine great-grandchildren and several step-children and step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 27, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Three Rivers. Burial followed in the Three Rivers Cemetery in Three Rivers.

Mrs. Sanchez
Mrs. Rafaela Sanchez, 80, of George West died in a Corpus Christi hospital following a sudden illness.
She was born to Jose and Jacava Longoria on Oct. 24, 1927 in Zapata.
Her survivors include her husband, Porfirio Sanchez of George West; six sons, Mike (Maria) Longoria of Seagreaves, Jose (Dora) Longoria of Bloomington, Porfirio (Linda) Sanchez of George West, Jose (Joyce) Sanchez of George West, Freddie Longoria of Seagraves, Martin (Rose) Sanchez; a daughter, Catalina (Joe) Zuniga of George West; four brothers, Alejos Longoria of Seagraves, Tony Longoria of Plainview, Delfino Longoria, of Zapata and Roel Longoria of Seagraves; four sisters, Elma Vargas of Seagraves, Jovita Longoria of Wichita Falls, Cecilia DeLeon of Wichita Falls and Maria Longoria of Zapata; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 2, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. in the Roberson Funeral Home chapel in George West, with a rosary recited that evening at 7 p.m. Mass was held on Saturday, May 3, at 1:30 p.m. at St. George Catholic Church in George West. Burial followed in the George West Cemetery.
