Mrs. Henry
Florence Irene “Flossie” Henry, age 80, of Beeville died on Wednesday, June 20, 2007. She was a former Secretary/Principal of Pettus High School.
She was born to Clifford and Ethel (Hawkes) Gardner in Caesar on November 7, 1926.
She was preceded in death by her son, Leland Rex Henry, Jr.
Survivors include her former husband Rex Henry of Tuleta; a daughter, Connie Henry of Beeville; two grandsons and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 23 at 10 a.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel of Beeville. Burial was held at Glenwood Cemetery with Reverand Claude Jacks officiating.
Pallbearers were Greg Williams, Gerald Norris, Trey Henry, Steve Linam, Jeff Henry, Bernard Henry and Ben Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Patrick, Michael and Christa Henry.

Mr. Metting
Ellioutt Louis “Botz” Metting, age 84, died Saturday, June 16, 2007. He served in the USMC and received a Purple Heart during W.W.II.
He was born to Louis and Augusta Metting in Goliad on January 13, 1923.
He is survived by a sister, Betty Jacob of Goliad and a brother, Norman Metting of Goliad.
A memorial service will be held in July in San Antonio.

Mrs. Miller
Elsie Klepac Miller, age 72, died on June 19, 2007 at Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi.
She was born to Anton and Marcella (Sternadel) Klepac on March 3, 1935 in Mathis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter Stacey Neuman.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Miller of Calliham; two daughters, Phyllis (Jimmy) Cockrell of Baytown and Karen (Allen) Moffett of Leakey; and a brother, Leonard Klepac of Sinton; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and six nephews.
Memorial service was held on Friday, June 22 at 2 p.m. at the Calliham Community Center.

Mrs. Dowd
Francis Ann Dowd, 62, of Woodsboro died on Thursday, June 28, 2007.
She was born to E.F and Lila Pattillo on November 8, 1944.
She was preceded in death by her father, E. F. Pattillo.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Willard Dowd, Jr. of Woodsboro; her mother, Lila Pattillo of Three Rivers; two sons, Robert Willard Dowd III of Woodsboro and Reagan Wade Dowd of Houston; a brother, Frank Pattillo of Three Rivers; a sister, Elaine Morman of Skidmore; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday, July 2 at Oakwood Cemetery at 2 p.m. in Refugio.

Mr. Hales
James “Jimmy” Hales, 80, of Three Rivers died on Thursday, June 21, 2007. He was self-employed, auto body repair.
He was born to Dealy and Hattie (Mulkey) Hales in Mission on August 2, 1926. He married Virginia Helm in Hondo on October 13, 1962.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Lawrence Hales, Chester Hales and Gwenith (G.W.) Hales and his mother-in-law and father-on-law.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Helm Hales of Three Rivers; two sons, Kelly (Sarah) Hales of Ray Point, James Richard Hales of San Angelo; a daughter, Brenda Leigh Garcia of Three Rivers; three grandsons, three granddaughters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 24 from 5 p.m till 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral service was Monday, June 25 at 2 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church of Three Rivers, organist was Stephanie Harris, singer was Laura Sulaica who sang “How Great Thou Art”. Burial was at Ray Point Cemetery, in Ray Point Community with Pastor Norm Sulaica, Jr. officiating.
Pallbearers were Julius Helm, Robert Helm, Karen Rogers, Curtis Hicks, Homer Smith, Rodney Harris. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Joseph Larakers, Bobby Geffert, Tommy House, Bobby Williford, Lawerance Zamzow.

Mr. Chapa
Erasmo S. “Charlie” Chapa, 89 of Beeville died on June 11, 2007. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and had retired from Christus Spohn Beeville.
He was born to Bernal and Dora (Saenz) Chapa on April 26, 1925 in Realitos. He married Julia Balerio on June 25, 1950 in Beeville.
He was preceded in dead by his son, Erasmo B. Chapa, Jr.
His survivors include his wife Julia Chapa of Beeville; a daughter, Dora Chapa of Beeville; two sons, John (Nora) Chapa of George West, Joe (Mary) Chapa of Houston; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 12 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville. Rosary was cited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Funeral mass was held on Wednesday, June 13 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery with Fr. Lukose Thirunelliparambil officiating. Pallbearers were Billie Chapa, Joe Chapa, Feliciano Cavazos and Rudy Galvan.

Mr. Guerra
Alfredo P. Guerra, 72, of Three Rivers, died at a local hospital on Wednesday, June 13, 2007.
He was born to Alejandro and Maria Pompa Guerra on Feb. 14, 1935, in Goliad. He married Emelia Reyna on July 22, 1953. They own and operate Sunrise-Sunset Cafe in Three Rivers.
Mr. Guerra was preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro Guerra Sr. and Maria Guerra; a sister, Maria Garza; and a grandson, Scotty Licona.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Emelia Guerra of Three Rivers; a son, George (Tina) Guerra of Three Rivers; four daughters, Gloria (David) Licona of San Angelo, Gilda (Albert) Ruiz of Three Rivers, Gena Guerra of George West and Geneva (Candelario) Garcia of Three Rivers; one brother, Alejandro Guerra Jr. of Three Rivers; one sister, Eva Cortinas of Beeville; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Thursday, at 1 p.m. at the Three Rivers High School Auditorium followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers, with Father Piotr Gajda officiating. Burial followed in the Three Rivers Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Three Rivers.
Mr. Kaatz
Leroy Otto Kaatz, 79, of Three Rivers died on June 16, 2007. He was a member of Church of Christ and a retired mechanic.
He was born on March 3, 1928 in Thorndale to Otto and Johanna (Denkler) Kaatz. He married Pearl McNeill on November 1, 1949 in Three Rivers.
He was preceded in death by both parents. His survivors include his wife, Pearl Kaatz of Three Rivers; a son, Leroy David Kaatz of Three Rivers; two daughters, Susan Graves and Melissa Goebel both of Three Rivers; a brother, O.T. Kaatz of Three Rivers; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Monday, June 18 between noon and 7 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 19 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Christ of Three Rivers. Burial was held at Three Rivers Cemetery with Minister Don Jones officiating.
Pallbearers were Keith Stapleton, Rodney Gisler, Gary Tindol, Jeffery Goebel, David Kaatz, Quinton Graves. Honory pallbearers were Manuel Brister, Horace Davis, Calvin Taylor and Albert Braune.
