Taylor
Madeline Oliver Taylor, 84, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004. She was born May 27, 1919, to Robert and Anne (Seger) Oliver on the Oliver home place at Nursery. She was the third of eight children.
Mrs. Taylor graduated from Nazareth Academy. She continued her education at Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio and graduated as a registered nurse. Her nursing career spanned 45 years. For many of these, she worked as office nurse for her cousin, Forrest Seger MD and then for Gulf Bend Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center.
Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; a sister, Roberta Aman; a brother, James; and her parents.
Survivors include five daughters, Sandra (Joe) Sullivan of Houston, Kathy (Bill) Bena of Victoria, Nancy (Scotty) Bledsoe of Oakville and Beth (Robert) McArthur and Mary (Drew) Scherz, all of Austin; a son, Steven (Carol) Taylor of Victoria; six sisters, JoAnn Morton, Lucille Lamb and Mickey Oliver, all of Victoria, Gladys Cook of Las Vegas, Nev., Mary Elizabeth McNeil and Grace (David) Sullivan, all of Beeville;15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Friday at the Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Gabriel Bentil officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery.

Royer
Francis W. Royer, 65, of George West, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at Live Oak Nursing Center. He was born in Rock Falls, Ill., on Jan. 29, 1939, to John and Alice (Jensen) Royer.
Mr. Royer married Elena Ybañez in George West in 1983. He was a construction worker.
Survivors include his wife, Elena M. Royer of George West; a son, Petey Royer of Illinois; two daughters, Diana Clapper of Rockfalls, Ill., and Francis M. Royer of George West; three sisters, Phyllis Bayston and Dawn and Ann Royer, all of Illinois; a brother, Lyle Royer of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the George West Cemetery with Father Joseph Olikkara officiating. Burial followed in the George West Cemetery.

Wilburn
Dueward Virgil Wilburn, 72, of Live Oak County, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004. He was born Nov. 12, 1931 in Mont Belvieu to Jessie Luther and Clara (Fraser) Wilburn. He married Beverly Jean Range in Live Oak County on Dec. 26, 1951.
Mr. Wilburn served as a sergeant in the Air Force Strategic Air in Korea. He was a retired rancher and retired owner and operator of Purity Feed & Seed Company in Beeville. He was a reserve deputy for Live Oak County and member of the Swinney Switch Fire Department. Mr. Wilburn was a member of the Church of Christ and 4-H and Bee County Horse Shows.
Mr. Wilburn was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Jean Wilburn of Live Oak County (Swinney Switch); a daughter, Laurie Leeton of Live Oak County; a son, Walter Wilburn of Live Oak County; three grandsons, Alex Wilburn of George West, T.J. Wilburn of Beeville and Trey Leeton of Live Oak County; a granddaughter, Leslie Leeton of Odem; his mother, Clara Mulfair of Baytown; a brother, Jess Wilburn of Baytown; and two sisters, Wanda Hawthorne of Cleveland and Beverly Kaack of Baytown.
The funeral was held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Galloway & Sons Chapel in Beeville with the Rev. Bill Stockton officiating. Organist and singer was Doug Burton. Burial followed at the Wilburn Ranch Cemetery in Live Oak County.
Pallbearers were Alex Wilburn, Trey Leeton, T.J. Wilburn, Jess Hawthorne, David Winsauer and Glenn Myers.

Anderson
Pauline Anderson, 85, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, following a long illness. She was born Feb. 16, 1918, in Fort Worth. She lived in Three Rivers for 17 years.
Survivors include a son, Charles (Barbara) Roberson of Alice; a daughter, Betty (Ronald) Mankel of Hurst; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held at noon on Monday, Nov. 24, at the Bluebonnet Hill Cemetery in Colleyville.
Arrangements were under the direction of Forrest Ridge Funeral Home, Hurst.
Ginn
Murel Cook Ginn, 93, of George West died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003. She was born Dec. 9, 1909, in Abilene to Jesse and Mable (Walling) Cook.
Mrs. Ginn married Ray Ginn in Plano on June 30, 1924. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church, George West.
Mrs. Ginn was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Ginn; her parents; and a son, John Ginn.
Survivors include two daughters, Margie Kendall and Mildred James, both of George West; a son, Ray Ginn Jr. of Beeville; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Friday at the Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West.
The funeral was held Friday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in George West with the Rev. Bruce Irving officiating. Burial followed in the George West Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ellis Nubbin Ginn, Rodney Ginn, Billy Burris, Mark Ginn, John Ginn Jr. and Will Kendall.

Landis
Robert Daniel Landis, 83, died Monday, Nov. 24. He was born May 5, 1920 in Arnold, Pa., to Emma Frances and Daniel Rufus Landis.
He graduated from Arnold High School and retired as store manager for Wilson Supply in Alice.
Mr. Landis was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy E. Landis, and his parents.
Survivors include Sheila K. and John Ayers of Howe, Kathy Lunaas and husband of Corpus Christi, Carol and Rusty Merritt of Palestine, Susie and Ernie Whitson of Three Rivers and Mike and Rusty Burchett of El Campo; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Lynn Koessler of Oakmont, Pa.; a brother, Jack (Nita) Landis of Lower Burrell, Pa.; and one niece and two nephews.
The funeral was held Friday at the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at the Alice Cemetery.

Summerville
Schelly Wayne Summerville, 53, of Joshua, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at a Granbury hospital. He was born Feb. 7, 1950, in Lampasas to R.D. and R.V. (Hodge) Hester. Mr. Summerville was a heavy equipment operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Danny Summerville; and a daughter, Gloria Hoiyt.
Survivors include his wife, Debora Summerville of Joshua; two sons, Nathan Summerville of Orlando, Fla., and Ryan Summerville of Joshua; a daughter, Elizabeth Summerville of Austin; a brother, Bobby Summerville (Alice Jackson) of Valley View; and three sisters, JoAnn (Jack) Davidson of Lampasas, Loretta Jean (Ruben) Crawford of Palestine and Nicky (Dan) Wilkinson of Denton.
A memorial service was held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Lampasas Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Mountain Valley Funeral Home, Burleson.
White
D.J. “Cuz” White, 66, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at his residence in the Simmons community.
He was born Aug. 14, 1937, in Three Rivers to Floyd and Monnie (Wood) White. He was an oilfield worker.
Mr. White was preceded in death by a brother, Charles White.
Survivors include two sons, Danny L. White of Seattle, Wash. and Jason White of Simmons; two daughters, Debbie Flournoy of Georgia and Barbara Ganter of Simmons; a brother, Paul White of Simmons; two sisters, Dorothy Fischer of St. David, Ariz., and Winnie Gorden of West Columbia; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Friday at the Galloway & Sons Chapel in Three Rivers.
The funeral was Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Simmons Community Church with the Rev. Ed Gentry officiating.
Burial followed in the Simmons Cemetery.
