Harris
Thelma Alice Ross Harris, 79, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at her home near George West in Live Oak County. She was born Nov. 28, 1921, in Buford to George A. and Hattie (Powell) Harris. She married Emmet Stroman Harris on March 25, 1944, in South Bend, Ind.
She was engaged in the family ranching interests and was a member of First United Methodist Church in George West for almost 50 years. She also was a volunteer at the Grace Armantrout Museum, Chamber of Commerce and Live Oak County Library.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Elliff and husband Gerry of Corpus Christi; a son, Ross Harris and wife Novia of George West; two grandchildren, Walter Alexander “Alex” Wilburn of San Marcos and Farrell Harris Saunders and husband Stuart of Houston; a sister, Mary Yvonne Ross of George West; a brother, Leroy Ross and wife Ellawese of Shreveport, La.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stroman; her parents; a brother, Jack Ross; a sister, Ella Ross Poer; and a grandson, Justin Wesley Elliff.
The funeral was held at 2 o’clock this afternoon (Wednesday) at the First United Methodist Church in George West. Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville. Pallbearers were Jim Harris, Little Joe Bartlett, Jim Elliff, Mike Elliff, Allan Krietsch and Richard Harris.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in George West.

Havelka
Jerry E. Havelka, 76, of San Marcos died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, in Austin.
A rosary was scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Galloway & Sons chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Peter Gajda officiating.
Burial followed in the Three Rivers Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ty Havelka, James and Jordan Liska, Chip Martin, Chuck Boester and Dennis Strmiska.
Mr. Havelka was born Oct. 8, 1924, in Jarrell to Matilda (Kobza) and George E. Havelka. He married Alice Liska on Jan. 10, 1949, in Three Rivers. He had been employed as a meters superintendent with Central Power & Light Co.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Havelka of San Marcos; four children, Thomas Havelka of McAllen, Mary Martin of St. Louis, Mo., Carol Havelka of San Marcos and Sharon Boester of Kenedy; five grandchildren, Ty Havelka of Aransas Pass, Renee and De Ann Whitson of St. Louis, Mo., Roxanne Havelka of San Marcos and Marie Havelka of McAllen; three sisters, Henrietta Sibley of Harlingen, Georgia Strmiska of Kenedy and Sylvia Bluhm of Victoria; and one brother, Daniel E. Havelka of Granbury.

Latham
Floyd Carl Latham Jr., 33, of McMullen County died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, in Live Oak County.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Galloway & Sons chapel in George West, with the Rev. Steven Briggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Latham Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin Latham, Gordon LaRue, Dustin Burr, Bill Ham, Michael Escalante, Bob Tremaine, Guy Stone and Alton Crosson.
Mr. Latham was born June 5, 1967, in Falfurrias to Mildred Ann (Hunt) and Floyd Carl Latham Sr. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include a daughter, Samantha Jo Latham of Premont; his parents, Mildred Ann and Floyd Carl Latham Sr. of McMullen County; a sister, Darla Lopez of Spring; two brothers, David Carl Latham of George West and Ronald Lee Latham of Sinton; and a friend, Sharon Yarbrough of Alice.

Connelly
Shreve Lewis Connelly, 61, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, in Corpus Christi.
He was born Jan. 6, 1940, to Carmen Ercel (Shults) and Shreve B. Connelly.
Survivors include a sister, Anita Lucindy Connelly Nicholson of George West and a brother, Benjamin Shreve Connelly of Washington.
A graveside service and burial were held at 10 a.m. Monday in the George West Cemetery.

Lamprecht
Mildred Rose Teague Lamprecht, 50, of Jourdanton died Jan. 23, 2001, in San Antonio at Southwest Methodist Hospital. She was born June 16, 1950 in Alice.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Roy Teague.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Lamprecht, children Sheila Meyer and husband David, Carrie and David Huschke and Donna Teague of Jourdanton and Robert Dale Lamprecht of Arkansas. She is also survived by her mother, Patsy Mach of Eden, and sisters Patsy Teague of Three Rivers, Shirley Escamilla and Kathy Mach, both of Eden, two grandchildren, Brooklynne Meyer and D.J. Huschke and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday). Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25, at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton. Burial will be at the Jourdanton City Cemetery.
Lee
Ray A. Lee, 85, of Three Rivers died at 12:40 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2001, in a Corpus Christi hospital.
The funeral was held at 2 o’clock this afternoon (Wednesday) at the First United Methodist Church in Three Rivers, with the Rev. John Alsbrooks officiating. Visitation was held Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m.
Burial will follow in the Three Rivers Cemetery.
Mr. Lee was born Aug. 4, 1915 to Claude Franklin Lee and Uzetta Mae (Johnson) Lee in Gonzales County. He married Francis Tyree on Feb. 16, 1947, in Three Rivers. He had been employed as a contract mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a United States Army World War II veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Sept. 7, 1999.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Lee of George West and David Wall of San Antonio; a daughter, Nancy McKinney of George West; one brother, Marlin Lee of Three Rivers; one sister, Evelyn Gill of Albuquerque, N.M.; six grandchildren, Lonnie Wayne and JoAnna Wall, Joe Willie Lee, Stewart Lee, Melaine Martin and Tyree Lee; and four great-grandchildren, Alex, Damon and Chelsea Wall and Champ Hudson Lee.
Pallbearers are Ken Clark, George DuBose, Carey Tullis, Terry Stewart, Thomas Forehand and Cole McClendon.

Rios
Hova Rios, 81, died at 6:52 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2001, in Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
Rosary was recited at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Galloway & Sons chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Tilden, with Monsignor John Killeen officiating.
Burial followed in Tilden’s Hilltop Cemetery.
Mrs. Rios was born Dec. 11, 1919, in Campbellton to Ricarda (Gutierrez) and Isidro Hernandez. She married Juan Rios in November 1946 in Tilden. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic church.
Survivors include her husband, Juan Rios of Tilden; three sons, Olivero Hasette and Ramiro Rios, both of Tilden, and Ray Rios of San Antonio; five daughters, Margarita Guerrero of Waller, Soveida and Dora Guerrero, both of George West, Maria Elena Peña of San Antonio and Anita Romero of Palestine; 28 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Abel Rios, in 1998.

Tanguma
Petra Tanguma, 99, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, in Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville, following a short illness. She was born Feb. 23, 1902, in Tilden to Mr. and Mrs. Abelino Gutierrez and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Nasario Tanguma and wife Julia of Three Rivers; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Roberson’s Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 o’clock this morning (Wednesday) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Burial followed in the Three Rivers Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandson Gilbert G. Tanguma Jr. and great-grandsons Christopher T. Ruiz, Rosendo Berlanga, Robert J. Treviño Jr., Michael A. Green and Joseph DeAses.
