Bellows
Glenn Calvin Bellows, 41, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, in Richmond, Va.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Savior Lutheran Church with the Rev. Craig Sturm officiating. Burial will follow in Three Rivers Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Forehand, David Murphy, Chris Davis, Calvin Blaschke, Steve Bellows and Lanse Brown. Kyle Williams will serve as an honorary pall bearer.
Mr. Bellows was born Nov. 5, 1957, in Corpus Christi to Dudley and Mildred (Blaschke) Bellows of Three Rivers. He was baptised on Dec. 1, 1957, at St. Michael Lutheran Church in Ray Point. Mr. Bellows was confirmed on April 15, 1973, at Our Savior Lutheran Church. He married Ruth Williams on Aug. 17, 1985, also at Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Mr. Bellows graduated from Three Rivers High School and The University of Texas. He was employed by the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington D.C and worked as a contracting officer for the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Linda Blaschke and Richard and Alice Bellows.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Williams Bellows of Stafford City, Va.; his parents, Dudley and Mildred Bellows of Three Rivers; two sisters and their husbands, Linda and Randal Moody of Spring and Linette and Timothy Malloy of Carrollton; a brother and his wife, Steve and Tricia Bellows of Three Rivers; five nephews, Wesley and Todd Moody, Bradley Bellows, Trevor Malloy and Derek Hess; and three nieces, Caroline Bellows, Sarah Kirkland and Stephanie Adamson.

Kotara
Mabel Heinen Kotara, 60, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, in a San Antonio hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Seguin on Sept. 28.
She was born May 4, 1939, in Live Oak County to Gerhard F. and Irma Anna (Braune) Heinen. She was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and volunteered with station KLRN with funding efforts. She was employed at Motorola for 24 years.
She was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Michael Kotara; a brother, Johnnie Heinen; and her father, Gerhard F. Heinen.
Survivors include a daughter, Rose Mashl and husband Michael of New Braunfels; a son, Jeffrey Kotara and wife Kimberly of New Braunfels; her mother, Irma Heinen of Karnes City; six sisters, Irma Jean Buehring and Joyce Liska and husband Vincent of Karnes City, Dora White and husband Bill of New Braunfels, Ruby Pugh and husband Jim of George West and Mary Jane Heines and Helen Coleman of New Braunfels; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be recited at 7 o’clock tonight (Wednesday) at the Zoeller Funeral Home chapel in New Braunfels. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church there, with Monsignor Eugene O’Callaghan officiating.
Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in the Ray Point Cemetery.
Blaylock
Louise Blaylock, 74, of George West died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in Bandera.
The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Monday at Beeville Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tim Stowe officiating.
Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Howard, Jimmy, Ronnie, Eddie, Billy and Bobby Blaylock.
Mrs. Blaylock was born Feb. 9, 1926, in Cleveland, Miss., to Ethel (Posey) and John Frazier. She married James Howard Blaylock there on Feb. 11, 1946. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Blaylock was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Britt of Corpus Christi and Marie Ellis of Kerrville; six sons, Howard Blaylock of George West, Jimmy Blaylock of North Carolina, Ronnie Blaylock of Corpus Christi, Eddie Blaylock of Minnesota, Billy Blaylock of California and Bobby Blaylock of Pennsylvania; a brother, John Frazier of Mississippi; four sisters, Ann, Ruby, Betty and Frances; 35 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Gutierrez
Maria Luisa Gutierrez, 67, died at 8:01 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at her home in George West.
Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. George Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. George, with Monsignor John Killeen officiating.
Burial followed in the George West Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gabriel Jr., Gilbert and Rick Zuniga, Alex and Conrado Rodriguez and Richard Cantu Jr.
Mrs. Gutierrez was born Oct. 17, 1932, in Mercedes to Maria (Molina) and Anselmo Rodriguez. She married Bernadino Gutierrez Sr. there on Dec. 5, 1948. She was a homemaker and a member of St. George Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bernadino “Nino” Gutierrez of George West; six daughters, Lupita (Albert) DelosSantos of Orange Grove, Olga (Richard) Cantu and Maria (Joe) Zapata, both of George West, Dora (Gilbert Silva) Leal of Beeville, Gloria Gutierrez of California and Tina (George Guerra) Gutierrez of Three Rivers; five sons, Rudy Gutierrez, Arturo (Marta) Gutierrez, Anselmo (Diana) Gutierrez, Bernadino “Dino” Gutierrez Jr., all of George West, and Noe (Ann Marie) Gutierrez of Three Rivers; two brothers, Antonio Rodriguez of Venezuela and Anselmo Rodriguez of San Perlita; a sister, Ernestina Rodriguez Ancisco of California; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Rios
Priscilla A. Rios, 34, died at her home in Beeville on Friday, Aug. 11, 2000.
A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Angelus Funeral Home chapel. The funeral was conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Angelus chapel, with Eliazar Guerrero officiating.
Burial followed in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2. Pallbearers were Jimmy, David and Candelario Rios, Sabino Cruz Jr., Luis Hernandez Jr. and Arturo Gonzales.
Miss Rios was born here on March 3, 1966, to Manuela (Aguilar) and Santiago Rios Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include her father, Santiago Rios Sr. of Beeville; three sisters, Susie R. Cruz and husband Sabino and Dolores R. Gonzales and husband Ignacio, all of Beeville, and Candelaria R. Rodriguez and husband Antonio of Dallas; two brothers, Santiago “Jimmy” Rios Jr. and wife Virginia of Beeville and Joe Ernest Rios and wife Ester of George West; a cousin, Annette Ramirez of New Mexico; an aunt, Adela A. Gonzales of Pearsall; and several nieces and nephews.

Shaw
Zorah Rebecca Hunter Shaw, 104, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in the Live Oak Nursing Center in George West.
Memorial services are pending at Galloway & Sons Funeral Directors in Beeville.
Mrs. Shaw was born on July 13, 1896, in Holdenville, Okla., (which was then Indian Territory) to Mickey (Dunn) and Horace Wilderson Hunter. She married John Martin, and widowed at a young age, she moved to Texas with her three daughters in 1919, to be nearer her family. She was remarried to T.E. Counts and they moved to Breckenridge. Following his death, she married Asa Shaw and moved to Buchanan Lake. She was widowed again at the age of 83. After his death, she lived for several years in Phoenix, Ariz., to be near her daughter, Terri Vaughn. Later, she moved back to Midland to be near another daughter, Viola Bevers.
In 1993, Mrs. Shaw moved to Hillside Lodge in Beeville to be near her daughter, Ella, and son-in-law, Lowell Seals, and her grandson, Jack Seals.
Survivors include daughters, Terri Vaughn of Beeville and Ella Seals of George West; three grandsons, Jack Seals of Beeville, David Seals of Brownwood and Richard Seals of Cleburne; 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husbands, John Martin; T.E. Counts and Asa Shaw; a daughter, Viola Bevers; and a grandson, Gene Partee.
Umphres
Charles “Chilly” Umphres, 83, of Tuleta died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in Beeville.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Galloway & Sons chapel, with the Rev. Mac Robinson officiating.
Burial followed in the Three Rivers Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gene DeLong, N.S. McNeill. L.M. Perkins, Marshall Stautzenberger, Jim Hiler and Carroll Blaschke. Honorary pallbearers were Neil and Clay Blaschke.
Mr. Umphres was born May 29, 1917, in Oakville to Laura (Edwards) and Jesse LeRoy Umphres. He married Jack Dortch on Feb. 11, 1942, in San Antonio. He was retired from the Corpus Christi Army Depot and was a member of First Baptist Church in Beeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Dewey Umphres; and four sisters, Maude Harris, Lucy Speer, Ada Shelton and Jimmy Tyre.
Survivors include his wife, Jack D. Umphres of Tuleta; several nieces and nephews, including Vicki Blaschke of Austin and De Ann DeLong of George West.
Memorial donations may be made to the South Texas Children’s Home, the Pettus-Tuleta Volunteer Fire Department and First Baptist Church organizations.

Guerrero
Valentin G. Guerrero, 85, of Jourdanton died Monday morning, Oct. 23, 2000, in Floresville.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Galloway & Sons chapel in George West. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 o’clock this morning (Wednesday) at St. George Catholic Church, with Monsignor John Killeen officiating. Pallbearers were Danny Guerrero, Stephen Guerrero, Ray Munoz, Ismael Guerrero, Meguel Valentin Martinez and Cornelio Munoz. Honorary pallbearers were Carolina Gonzales and Janie Nieto.
Burial followed in the George West Cemetery.
Mr. Guerrero was born July 21, 1915, in the La Para community to Angelita (Guzman) and Gonzalo V. Guerrero. He married Guadalupe Hinojosa in 1946 in George West. He had resided in Campbellton before moving to Jourdanton. He was retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad and was a member of the Catholic church.
Survivors include his wife, Guadalupe H. Guerrero of Jourdanton; three sons, David Guerrero of Pleasanton, Daniel Guerrero of San Antonio and Delfino Guerrero of Lubbock; three daughters, Dominga Cantu of California, Dolores Martinez of Galveston and Senaida Muñoz of Floresville; two sisters, Belen Vela of Houston and Maria Vasquez of Brownsville; 25 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
