WINNIE MAE ARCENEAUX BARNABA
Winnie Mae Arceneaux Barnaba, 78, of Barrett Station passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at a local hospital. Winnie was born on September 29, 1924 in Leonville, Louisiana. She was a homemaker and member of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Barrett Station, where she was a member of the Altar Society and the Legion of Mary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Numa Eugene Barnaba; parents Alcid and Mercedes Arceneaux; sisters Belle Taylor, Marie Fuselier and Olivia Fuselier; and brothers Jacque Arceneaux, Russell Arceneaux and Ashton Arceneaux.
She is survived by four sons, James Barnaba (and wife Nelda), John Barnaba (and wife Pam), Peter Barnaba, Sr. (and wife Deborah); and two daughters, Marie Nichols and Monica Gorell (and husband Patrick), all of Barrett Station. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Eric, Henry, Michelle, Danielle, Jean-Pierre, Shameka, Peter, Jr., Tykisha, Tameka and Jamal; two step-grandchildren, Shannan and Allen; and three great-grandchildren, Dylan Mi’Unique and Trinity; as well as three sisters in law, Essie Barnaba of Louisiana, Marie Barnaba of Oklahoma, and Helen Barnaba of Houston; one brother-in-law, Felix Barnaba of Houston, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 22, 2003. Viewing will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Rosary will be from 7:30 to 8 p.m., and Mass Services will be at 8 p.m. with Rev. A. Ekanem, Rev. H. Duffy and Rev. R. Coates officiating. Burial will be Wednesday, July 23, 2003 at 10 a.m. at Whites Chapel Cemetery in Highlands.

GRACE ODOM ENDERLI
Grace Odom Enderli, 89, of Baytown, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2003. Born March 9, 1914 in Mason, Texas to Pat and Bessie Bryant. She married S.R. “Red” Odom in 1931, and three children were born of that union.
After Red’s death, Gracie, as she was known to all her many friends, married J.T. Enderli of Cedar Bayou, who predeceased her after 38 very happy years of marriage.
She was known for many years in the 1940s and 1950s in Baytown for her unfailing good taste in helping her clients choose clothing at Max Altmans and Later Steinbergs Womens Clothing. She was a longtime member, as was husband J.T., of Cedar Bayou Methodist Church.
Gracie is survived by her daughter, Bett Harrison of Houston; son Johnny Odom and wife Carolyn of Houston and son Daniel Odom and wife Cindi of the Woodlands; grandchildren, Grace and Jonathan Odom, Alan Odom, Danielle Odom, Jerilyn Calvert and husband Craig, and Jay Paul Jones; great-grandchildren, Geoffrey and Jacob Calvert and great-great-grandchildren, Nicole Pate and Austin Thomas Odom; other loving relatives and friends survived her and greatly mourn her passing.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday July 22, 2003, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. at Earthman Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cedar Bayou Methodist Church graveyard.
In Grace Odom Enderli, God will receive back the sweetest and gentlest woman he ever loaned to this earth. May she receive the final rest she so richly deserves.

BILLY JACK CRAIG, SR.
Billy Jack Craig, Sr., was born on January 8, 1920 in Galveston, and passed away at his home in Austin, on Monday, July 7, 2003. He was 83 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Ruth Haude Craig. He graduated from Lee High School in 1938, attended Lee College, served in the Navy in WWII, worked for Humble Oil for 26 years, and retired from Kmart in 1985. He is survived by his sister, Frances Pryor, of Baytown, sons, Billy Jack Craig, Jr, of Fallon, Nevada and Michael Wayne Craig, of Baytown, grandchildren, Collette Occhionero, Eric Craig, Adam Seth Craig, Annie Laura Craig, Lacy Craig, and Lisa Michelle Priest, great-grandchildren, Rachel, Michael, Andrew Occhionero, and Amanda Priest.
He was the most ornery, hard-headed Craig around and the best father, grandfather and great-grandfather anyone could ask for. He will be greatly missed by his family.

GERALDINE PEACOCK MORTON
Geraldine Peacock Morton, 64, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, July 17, 2003 after a brief battle with cancer.
She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1956. She was a member of T.O.P.S. #594. She worked for Bud’s Barbecue for 25 years and will be missed by her co-workers.
Geraldine went to join her father, Leon Peacock, and brother, Sammy C. Peacock in Heaven, but left to miss her are: her mother, Opal Peacock; daughters Donnis Lightbody, Laura Morton and Paige Morton; grandchildren James Lightbody and Kristin Lightbody; brothers Billy Peacock and Robert Peacock; nephew Edgar Peacock and his wife Teresa; great-nephews Samuel and Adam Peacock; great-niece Allie Peacock; plus all of her cousins and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 20 at Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 21 at Earthman Funeral Home, with Pastor D. L. Harvey officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery in Baytown.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Lightbody, Samuel Peacock, Adam Peacock and Randy Lyons.
Pallbearers will be Clint White, Chad Davis, Richard Kimball, Eddie Gesford, Rex Petty and Edgar Peacock.

HARRY BOSWELL
Harry Boswell, 86, of Baytown, died Friday, July 18, 2003 at a local hospital. Services are pending at Navarre Funeral Home, 281-422-8111.
SETH ALLEN CRAIG
Seth Allen Craig was born in August 21, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He passed away at his home in Austin, on Monday, July 14, 2003. He was 57 years old. He is survived by his two brothers, Billy Jack Craig, Jr., of Fallon, Nevada and Michael Wayne Craig, of Baytown.
Seth spent many years living in the Austin area, but his heart was always in Lynchburg, Texas, where as a boy, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and racing around Burnet Bay in his speedboat. He loved working on cars with his dad, which led to a career in auto mechanics. He also enjoyed family gatherings on the bay.
He will be missed by his brothers, nieces, and nephews and all of his childhood friends from Lynchburg who were looking forward to seeing him at the Lynchburg reunion for the class of 1960-1965.

OLGA MARIE BARROW
Olga Marie “Susie” Barrow, 85, of Beach City, was born September 23, 1917 in Cody, Texas and passed away Friday, July 18, 2003 in a local healthcare center. She was a retired fourth grade teacher at Stephen F. Austin Elementary School and a member of Grace United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
Olga was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Forrest Barrow, Sr., and sister Frances Legler Olds. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Perry Jr. and Donna Barrow of Austin and Robert and Judy Barrow of Beach City; sister, Martha Legler Royall of Beaumont; brother, Leon Legler of Baytown; and grandchildren, Brandi Barrow of Baytown, Dr. Barbi and Kevin Wells of San Antonio, Robbie Lynn Barrow of Houston, and Kelley Forrest Barrow of Beach City.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home today from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, July 21 at 10 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, with Rev. Thomas Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Bayou Masonic Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gene Paul McBroom, Richard Alexander, David Smith, Paul Royall, Mike Bolton, and Richard Harbers.
Services are under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home.
WILLIAM ALTON 'BILL' SUMMERS
William Alton “Bill” Summers, 66, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 18, 2003, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He was born January 24, 1937, in Nixon, Texas to William Alton and Bessie Summers, who preceded him in death. He grew up in Baytown, Texas where he graduated from high school in 1955. He then attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a B.S. in petroleum engineering. He pursued his career for the next 43 years at Texaco, Kilroy, and his own company, Summers Oil and Gas.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years Patsy Kay Taylor Summers; his daughter and son-in-law Arlene and Chris Meyer and their children, Lauren, Andrew and Scott of College Station; his daughter and son-in-law Valerie and Kerry Taylor and their children Brian and Sean of Austin; and his son and daughter-in-law Kelly and Melanie Summers and their children Travis and Erika of Weimer; and his sister Jackie Patrick of Lake Hills, Texas.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 20 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Settegast-Kopf Co. at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway (at the Williams Trace exit) in Houston. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at The Settegast-Kopf Co., with interment to follow at 3 p.m. in Gonzales, Texas. WHALEN D. GREEN
Whalen D. Green, lifelong resident of Old River-Winfree, Texas, departed this earth at the age of 83 on July 16, 2003 in Baytown, Texas. Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents Wordy M. and Ava Green, his wife, Joyce, all of Old River-Winfree and brother, Doyle of Alvin, Texas. Whalen was employed by Tenneco Oil Company for twenty-nine years, the last five years as Supervisor at the Mont Belvieu Terminal, retiring in 1985. A long time supporter of the Barbers Hill I.S.D., he served on its school board for 12 years. He was a WWII veteran of the Army Air Force having served in North Africa and Italy. He enjoyed sports, watching the Dow Jones, visiting with friends and family, the outdoors, especially deer hunting and feeding “his” crows.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and Bubba Gregory of Mont Belvieu, son and daughter-in-law, Rev. David N. and Anita Green of Bridge City, grandson, Paul Gregory, of Baytown, granddaughter, Alyce and husband Jeremy Jones, and great-grandson, Peyton Jones of Mont Belvieu. He also loved his granddogs, Macy and Hunter. The family would like to express their love and appreciation to Dr. Kimberlie Gonzalez and the nursing staff of Surgical South 2, San Jacinto Methodist Hospital, for their excellent and compassionate care.
Visitation was July 18, 2003 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Funeral service will be today, July 19, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. David N. Green officiating. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Willard Earl Steadman, Joel Wade Steadman, Brownie Wasson, Randy Williams, Charlie Burgess and Alex Scott.

LAURA S. OWEN
Mrs. Laura S. Owen, age 86, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2003, in San Augustine, Texas. She was born on December 13, 1916, in Tensman, Arkansas, to James Ralph and Bedia Hutchinson Speakman. For 36 years she lived in Baytown, Texas. There she worked as a dietician in the Goose Creek Independent School District.
She belonged to the Court Club of Nacogdoches, being in the Senior “Polar Bear” Swim Group. One of her last ministries was to be a Life Gift Donor.
She was a member of the Methodist faith.
Mrs. Owen is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, David & Chris Owen of Houston, Texas; daughter & son-in-law, Charissa & Michael Owen of San Augustine, Texas; grandchildren, Teddie Owen, Kenny Owen, Michael Owen, Tara Owen, Chanel Caldwell & C’aaron Caldwell; great-grandchild, Brennan Grace Owen.
Memorial services were held for Mrs. Owen on Thursday, July 17, 2003, 11 a.m. at the Short Methodist Church in Shelby County, Texas, with burial of the cremains at the Short Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, San Augustine, Texas.
