Rosaline Merriwether Ramsey
Rosaline Merriwether Ramsey was born to James C. and Georgia Brown Merriwether on June 1, 1918, in Kennard, Texas. She passed away on April 17, 2006, in Conroe, Texas. She was 87 years old.
Rosaline was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Texas, as well as a lifetime member of the Huntsville Chapter #240 Order of the Eastern Star. Serving her community in many ways, Rosaline volunteered with the Huntsville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and worked in management of the local Sherwin-Williams store for over 25 years.
Rosaline was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Edward Sidney “Sid” Ramsey as well as her parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by her loving family which includes her son, Richard L. Ramsey and wife Joan of Tomball, Texas; 2 daughters Ann Connell and husband Joe of Huntsville, Texas and Jan Osborn and husband Roger of Conroe, Texas.
Also survived by grandchildren Kelly (Ramsey) Gowan and husband Roger of Frisco, Texas; Susan (Ramsey) Baggerman and husband Clint of League City, Texas; Benn Marshall of Plano, Texas; Andy Marshall of Los Angeles, Calif.; Angie (Osborn) Pyle and husband Josh of Kingwood, Texas. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Sydney Gowan, Natalie Gowan and Anna Baggerman. Also, she is survived by one sister, Marjorie Womack of Groveton, Texas, and sisters-in-law Faye Merriwether of Crockett, Texas, and Doris Ruth Ramsey, of Stonewall, La., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Inez Bode Scogin Brothers
After a long and courageous battle with lung disease, Inez Brothers departed this life early Friday morning, May 5, 2006, Richardson, Texas at the age of 86. She was born on Nov. 10, 1920 in Nordheim, Texas to Charley and Emma Bode. She was preceded in death by two husbands, John Melton Scogin and George Brothers. Inez was the owner of two Beauty Salons for 13 years while residing in Bryan, Texas and 23 years as a federal employee of the US Treasury Department in Dallas. She attended Eastland and Richardson Jr. College.
Inez is survived by her two children, son, John Michael Scogin and wife Vera from Huntsville; and daughter, Doris Diane Scogin Garner and husband Homer Glen Garner of Greenville, Texas; two step-sons, George Brothers of Florida and Norman Brothers of Virgina; five grandchildren, Matt and Lori Scogin, Chad and Amy Garner and Ginger Brothers; three great-grandchildren, Chance and Pacen Scogin and Mikel Garner.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at the El Dorado Retirement Center, 714 West Arapaho, Richardson, Texas. Pastor Catherine Vincent, of St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church, will officiate the memorial services. James Albert Clark
Funeral services for Mr. James Albert Clark, age 87 years old, will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Donnie Tubbs, Sr., will officiate.
Burial will immediately follow in the Old Colony Cemetery. Public viewing will begin on Friday, June 1, 2007, at 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Clark is survived by his devoted wife, Novella Clark of Huntsville; one step-daughter, Margaret N. Gambrell (Thomas, Jr.) of Grand Prairie; one stepson, Sammie Cooper (Ethel) of Houston; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; special nephew, Joe Wheeler, of San Marcos; one brother, Walter Durham of Galveston; the Hardy family and a host of relatives and friends.
Rebecca Nicole Whitehead
Rebecca Nicole Whitehead, born March 3, 1992, in Tulsa, Okla., went dancing into Heaven on May 29, 2007. A beautiful young lady who lived life with compassion and enthusiasm. Someone who loved her Lord with all her heart, loved her family and all her wonderful friends, yet looked forward to the day she would meet her Savior and be with him forever.
She is survived by parents, Ronald and Jeanne Whitehead; brothers, Steven Whitehead and wife Brittany, and Brian Whitehead, all from Huntsville; grandparents, Joyce Leteff of Denham Springs, La., Valerie Denning of Huntsville, Doyle and Barbara Whitehead of Gloster, Miss., Richard and Lila Denning of San Jose, Calif.; half brother, Jason Whitehead; nephew, Dustin Whitehead; aunts and uncles Karen and Robert Messer of Kingston, Okla., Mike and Marlene Whitehead of Gonzales, La., Denise and Tony Liotta of Gonzales, La., Celeste and Lance Letchworth of Hendersonville, N.C., uncle, Mike Lo of Houston and aunt, Kelly Lo of San Jose, Calif., numerous cousins, great aunts and uncles and a wonderful host of friends.
Rebecca’s favorite Bible verse: Acts 20:24 “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, If only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me-the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.”
We as family would like everyone to come join the celebration of Rebecca’s life. Visitation will be held on Friday June 1, 2007, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Universidy Heights Baptist Church. The service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, June 2, 2007, at 10 a.m. be held at University Heights Baptist Church, 2400 Sycamore, Huntsville, under the direction of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Brooke Cemetery.

John Allen Johnson
John Allen Johnson, 42, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2007 in Houston, Texas, after a 10-month battle with severe Traumatic Brain Injury resulting from a motorcycle accident. He was born on March 30, 1965, in Houston, Texas. John is survived by his wife Hope Robinson Johnson, mother and stepfather Carol and Billy Parish, father and stepmother Charles and Barbara Johnson, sister and brother-in-law Marci and John Surrey, sister Gina Parish, brothers Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parish, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be on Monday, June 4, 2007, from 6 until 8 PM at Kingwood Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at ten olclock in the morning, Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Kingwood Funeral Home, with Rev. Joe Fort, Jr. officiating. Louis Lawrence Krystyniak
Louis Lawrence Krystyniak, Jr. went home to be with our Father on the morning of June 3, 2007. Louis is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Mary Wright Krystyniak, his son, John Louis, Johnls wife, Lorinda, and their daughter, Madison all of Austin, Texas. Louis was born in Beaumont, Texas, on September 26, 1930. He was the only child of Louis Krystyniak, Sr. and Effie Capps Krystyniak. He graduated from Beaumont High School in 1949 and then attended Lamar University playing on the golf team. Louis served in the U.S. Army as a radio operator during the Korean War. After the Korean War, Louis worked with his father in their family-owned electric motor sales/repair business for forty-eight years, retiring in 2000. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Tolerance Lodge # 1165.
Louis and Mary married in August of 1957 in Beaumont, Texas, and would have celebrated their fiftieth anniversary this summer. Having lived many happy years in Beaumont, Louis and Mary moved to Huntsville in 2005 where Louis was a regular at the Elkinls Lake Golf Club. Louis was an active member of the Elkinls Lake Baptist Church. Louis was always ready with a handshake and a smile and was loved by all who knew him. He was a loving husband and father and doting grandfather. He will truly be missed.
The family will receive visitors at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, June 4th from 5-7 pm. A service celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, June 5th at 10:00 am at Elkinls Lake Baptist Church in Huntsville. The church service will be followed by a graveside service at 3:30 pm at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas, where he will be laid to rest beside his mother and father.
Andrew Daniel Miller
Andrew Daniel Miller of Trinity, Texas passed away June 3, 2007, in Crockett, Texas. He was 86 years old.
Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Marjorie F, Miller of Trinity; son, Wayne Miller of Benicia, Calif.; 2 daughters, Rita Schneider of Brenham and Rochelle Miller of Houston; 1 grandson, Brandon and his wife Susan.
Mr. Miller served in the US Navy. He married Marjorie Martin in 1943 in Houston, Texas. He worked for Westinghouse Electric for over 30 years, retiring in 1986 and moving to Trinity, Texas at that time.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2007, 11 a.m. at 1st Presbyterian Church in Trinity, Texas with private interment to be held at Brookside Cemetery in Houston, Texas
Services and arrangements will be held under the direction of Brooke Funeral Home ñ Huntsville, Texas.
Vaudine Bartee
Vaudine Bartee, of Huntsville, Texas passed Saturday June 2, 2007, in a local hospital. She was 79 years old.
Mrs. Bartee was born May 1, 1928, to Silas and Pearl Harding in West Sandy, Texas.
Her parents preceded her death. She was a Baptist and was a devoted wife to her husband Wilburn Bartee. Her and Mr. Bartee married Dec. 12, 1945, and in the early years of there marriage they loved to dance. Mr. Bartee preceded her in death August of 2000. Mrs. Bartee loved to work in the garden growing lots of different types of flowers. Cooked late into the night for the next day and was an avid hunter. She loved to talk and sit in her yard on hot summer days and drink her sweet tea.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth and wife, Gina Bartee of Huntsville, Texas; 2 granddaughters De'Amdra Bartee of Riverside, Texas and Cassandra Bartee of Spring, Texas; 3 great-grandchildren, Rebecca Chambers, Gracie Bartee Thompson and Kennlei Bartee.
She was preceded in death her husband, parents and a brother Quincy Edward Harding.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. June 11, 2007, at the Brooke Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Black Jack Cemetery. Visitation Thursday night from 6-8 pm at Brooke Funeral Home Chapel 672 FM 980 (936) 295-4330
