Robert B. Chesley, 68, of Point Blank, TX. passed away August 26, 2012 surrounded by his family. Mr. Chesley was born January 10, 1944 in Miami, Arizona to Delmond H. and Dovie Pearl Chesley, who have both preceded him in death. He served in the US Navy and was a Barber by trade. He is survived by his 3 daughters; Joanna Ettenger and her husband Steve of Arizona and Lisa Chesley of Arizona and Patricia Freeman and her husband Arec of Oregon. Step-father Harold Watts of Point Blank, TX. His sister; Sherry Jones and her husband Thomas of Point Blank, TX. 2 brothers Gary Watts of New Mexico and Bill Watts of Houston, TX. 7 grandchildren; Nicholas, Dillon, Jared, Gabriella, Cole, Cade and Paige. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated at Brooke Crematory in Huntsville. TX. His ashes are to be interred at the Center Hill Cemetery in Oakhurst, TX. with the family holding private services at a later date.
Sonya Lynn Heron

Sonya Lynn Heron, 37, of Huntsville, TX. passed away August 29, 2012 at her residence in Huntsville, TX. surrounded by her family. She was born November 29, 1974 in Fort Rucker, Alabama. She is survived by her husband Patrick O'Conor of Huntsville, TX. 2 Daughters; Katlyn Apel and Gabby Heron both of Huntsville, TX. 1 son; Treston Heron-Stehling of Houston, TX. Her mom Bobbie Williams of Huntsville, TX. and her Daddy; J.D. Williams of Houston, TX. 3 Sisters; Shannon Heron of Livingston, TX. Destiney Olds and her husband Roy of Lindale, TX. and Casey Wilson and her husband Aaron of Wallis, TX. Her brother Shawn Williams and his wife Mary Ellen of Houston, TX. She is preceded in death by her father; Billy Heron, paternal grandparents; Ray and Mildred Heron, Maternal grandparents Bobbie and Grady Sellers and Maternal grandfather; Charles Kindred and her aunt Rana Sue Sellers. Visitation will be held Friday night August 31, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Brooke Funeral Home with Funeral services to be held 2:00 pm Saturday September 1, 2012 at the Brooke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Heron officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Point Blank, TX. Sonya was all about family and she loved her children dearly. She will be loved and missed by many.
Sammy "Sam" Walker

Sammy M. Walker was born on February 2, 1940 in Delwin, TX. He departed this life on August 31, 2012. Sam lived a very full life. After serving our country in the US Navy he went to work for John Hopkins University in the Applied Physics lab for the Space Development Research Department. It is here where he helped to launch the first satellite into space. Sam worked for Siemens Medical Systems for 25 years before retiring in 1998. Sam loved to travel and was truly at home on the open water. He spent the next eight years living abroad and sailing in the Caribbean Sea with his wife before settling in Huntsville, TX. Sam is survived by his wife, Mickie Walker, of 19 years; sister, Linnie Holt, and husband, Oscar, of Amarillo, TX; children Chester Walker and wife, Karen of Lubbock, TX, Jeanine Martin and husband, Warren, of Flower Mound, TX, Micheline Ochoa and husband, Jeff, of New Braunfels, TX, Eddy Roy Walker of Lubbock, TX, and Deana Jaramillo and husband, Michael, of Sterling, TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Crystal Lucero, Derek and Justin Ochoa, Melany Conner, Nicole Walker, Aarin, Bryan, Carl and Dani Martin; grandbabies, Haylee and Paylin Jaramillo, and five precious great grandchildren. He also leaves behind various family members and friends. Sam is preceded in death by his parents, Madia and Eddy Walker; and son, William Johnson. His family would like to thank his friends at Lakeside Village and Heart to Heart Hospice for their devoted friendships and care of the last couple of months. Sam asked his friends and family to celebrate his life in a manner that was befitting to them for he did not want a funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriner s Children’s Hospital, Heart to Heart Hospice of Huntsville, TX, or to a charity of your choice. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated at Brooke Crematory. Private services will be held by the family at a later date.
Margaret Lucille Rawley

Margaret Lucille Rawley, 92, of Huntsville, Texas passed away August 31, 2012 in Huntsville, Texas. Mrs. Rawley was born December 2, 1919 in Houston, Texas to Frank and Ada Beadle. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated at Brooke Crematory. the family will hold private services at a later date.
Ruth Marie Chappell

RUTH M. (REAVES) CHAPPELL Ruth Marie Chappell 82 of Killeen, passed away Sunday, September 02, 2012 at Park Place Manor Nursing Home in Belton surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, September 6th at LifeWayFellowship with the Rev. Jimmy Towers officiating, Burial will follow at Killeen City Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. Ruth was born and raised in Bell County where she has lived her entire life. She was the daughter of Leonard and Callie (Parker) Reaves. She graduated from Killeen High School and attended Temple Jr. College where she received her LVN license. She worked as an LVN for Darnell Army Hospital and Scott and White Memorial Hospital. She was a long time member of Killeen 1st Baptist Church and later moved her membership to LifeWayFellowship in Killeen. She was preceded in death by husband, Lee Roy Chappell in 1973; parents, Leonard and Callie Reaves; brother, Weldon Scott Reaves She is survived by a daughter, Linda Chappell Dixon and husband Wes of Huntsville, Tex; son, Ronnie Chappell and wife Glenda of Belton; sister, Joyce Williams and husband Dave of Killeen; 3 grandsons, Charlie Chappell and wife Jody, Tim Dixon and wife Karen, Brad Dixon and wife Shelly; sister-in-law, Frances Reaves of Elgin. Also survived by 5 great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Park Place Manor staff and Odyssey Hospice for their loving care and concern for our wonderful mother. Randy Alan White

Randall Alan White lost his battle with an aggressive and rare form of dementia on September 5, 2012, at the age of 56 years. Randy, who was a graduate of the University of Texas, was a successful CPA with offices in Huntsville, Madisonville and Bryan-College Station. Randy went above and beyond to serve his clients. A man of integrity and honor, Randy abhorred injustice of any kind. He was a devoted husband and loving father, uncle and brother. Randy’s passion was backpacking. He and his wife, Leanne, adventure-backpacked and hiked several of the most spectacular national parks in the U.S. and Canada annually with family and friends. Dependable to the end, there was no better father, brother or friend a person could wish to have. Randy was gifted with a beautiful singing voice. His happiest singing moment was singing the Lord’s Prayer at his daughter Lauren’s wedding. He enjoyed spending long hours reading science fiction novels and laughing with his family and friends. Randy will be deeply missed by everyone. Randy is survived by his devoted wife of thirty-one years, Leanne Wakefield of Huntsville, Texas, his daughter Lauren White Motloch, and her husband Logan Motloch of Austin, Texas, and his daughter, Elissa White of Huntsville, Texas. He is also survived by his three brothers Larry, Roger, and Ronald. Memorial services will be held 2:00pm, Sunday, September 9, at the Sam Houston Memorial Museum, Katy & E. Don Walker, Sr. Education Center, 1400 19th Street, Huntsville, Texas 77340. Dr. Charles G. Nichols

Dr. Charles G. Nichols, a Psychologist, passed away September 8, 2012 in an Elkhart nursing home. Dr. Nichols was born August 20, 1933 in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was a previous resident of Huntsville, TX. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated at Brooke Crematory.
George D. Miles, Sr.

George Delphia Miles, Sr. departed this earth for his eternal home in Heaven on Monday, November 19, 2012. Mr. Miles was born in Cherokee County, Texas June 14, 1918 to Sam Houston Miles and wife Ida Charolette George. Mr. Miles was raised in Cherokee and Anderson Counties and had lived in Huntsville for the past 15 years. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Mildred Maltby Miles, on January 12, 2003.
Mr. Miles, a veteran who served his country during World War II, was honorably discharged at Fort George G. Meade in Maryland on June 27, 1946. He spent 35 years of his working life with Exxon Corporation in Baytown, Texas where he and Mildred raised their children and were members of the Baptist faith. Upon his retirement from Exxon, Mr. and Mrs. Miles enjoyed a number of years living on the banks of Lake Livingston, then at Pierce’s Chapel in Cherokee County, finally moving to Huntsville to be near their children and grandchildren.
Left to treasure his memory are son George D. Miles, Jr. and daughter Lou Ann Miles, daughter-in-law Beth Miles, grandson Joel Scott Miles and wife Sheri, granddaughter Jordan O’Hara Smith of Chicago, great-granddaughter Kathryn Michelle Miles, plus Mr. Miles’ sister Edna May Broughton and husband Ted of Deer Park and numerous nieces, nephews, etc.
Arrangements are being handled by Brooke Funeral Home & Cemetery. A private Family gathering for a graveside service, conducted by Father Jim Morgan, Rector of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, will take place 11:00 AM Monday November 26, 2012 at Brooke Cemetery - Huntsville, TX. The family of Mr. Miles would like to thank all of you for your kind expressions of sympathy. The phone calls, flowers, and food has help us tremendously during this time of loss. We have chosen to keep this service time private for family, so as to keep this more about our dad.
Family members wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Towncreek Retirement Facility for their loving attention to Mr. Miles’ needs over the past year and especially to The Odyssey House Hospice in Conroe for their love and care during the last few days of his life. Charles Clay Easterwood

Charles Clay Easterwood died at the age of ninety on November 19, 2012 in Huntsville, TX. Charles was born in 1922 in Blossom, TX. to Claude Easterwood and Elgie Davis. He married Hazel Baird in 1954, who preceded him in death. To this union was born three children, Rebecca, Laura, and Wayne. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and son Wayne. In 2000, he married Nell Paul and moved to Elkins Lake, where he became an avid golfer and bridge player. Charles is survived by his wife Nell, two daughters, a brother, one step daughter, two step sons, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held Friday, November 30, at the Brooke Funeral Home, from 6pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church - Huntsville, Texas or the Spring Hill Cemetery Association at 9398 FM 195 Paris, Texas 75462.
