JANICE LYNN (CLEMENT) TAYLOR
Janice Lynn (Clement) Taylor, 62, passed away, Thursday, July 17, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Janice was born August 14, 1940 in Goose Creek, Texas, graduated from Robert E. Lee, Baytown and lived in the Houston area most of her life.
Preceded in death by her parents Vernon D. Clement and Bernice South, her stepmother, Hazel Clement and her twin sister, Judy Gurnack.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Norman L. Taylor, son, Tommy Humphreys of Tyler; daughters, Pamela Carone and husband Michael of Bari, Italy; Kenda Stanley of Houston; grandchildren, Shanna and Clint Humphreys, Michael and Brian Carone, Kala Fredericksen, brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Niwassa Clement and family of Baytown; aunts, Royette Ferney of Baytown; Dolores MacBean of Carmichael, Calif.; nephew, Mark Morgan and family, brother-in-law, Stanley Gurnack of The Woodlands; and sister-in-law, Avril Read and husband Ashley.
Janice willed her body to Baylor College of Medicine, Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
CHERRIE JACKSON
Cherrie Jackson, 87, passed away, July 20, 2003 at a local nursing home.
Her dream has finally become a reality. She has been reunited with the love of her life, her son, “Joe Tex” who died on August 12, 1982.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Richardson, father, Andrew Warren, brother, Wymon, sister, Georgia and her son “Joe Tex.”
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sue and J.C. Singleton, sister, Bennie McGinty, daughters-in-law, Johnnie Mae Arrington, Balaiah Hazziez, eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandsons, a very special friend, Willie M. Phillips, two loving and caring ladies, Eva Fontenot and Catherine Singleton and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, July 25, 2003 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Washington Chapel Baptist Church in McNair. The funeral will follow immediately afterwards with the Rev. Earl Alexander officiating.
Burial will be at Dennis Bryant Cemetery in Navasota, Texas on Saturday, July 26, 2003 at 11 a.m.
WAYNE B. "BUTCH" BEAN, JR.
Today we are saying farewell to a truly unique man, Wayne B. “Butch” Bean, Jr. Although his time on earth was far too short, he lived his life to the fullest, as a devoted husband, father, son and brother. Butch was an avid hunter and fisherman, who delighted in sharing these passions with his wife and daughters. He was never without an adventure or a tall tale to share. Butch was a partner of Bean Construction Co. and attended Metropolitan Baptist Church. He grew up in Baytown, Texas where he was an outstanding football and baseball player. Butch graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Business Degree.
He is survived by his wife Brenda K., daughters Lauren Renee’ and Kara Nicole; parents Wayne “Buddy” Bean, Sr. and Rita Bean; sister and brother-in-law Beth and Parker Rush; brother and sister-in-law Bryan and Lisa Bean; mother-in-law and father-in-law Walter and Mary Slavens and by numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 6-9 PM Thursday at the Klein Funeral Home-Champion Forest.
Funeral Services to be held 10 AM Friday, July 25, 2003 at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 13000 Jones Rd., Houston, TX 77070, with Rev. Don Lee officiating.

WINNIE MAE ARCENEAUX BARNABA
Winnie Mae Arceneaux Barnaba, 78, of Barrett Station passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at a local hospital. Winnie was born on September 29, 1924 in Leonville, La. She was a homemaker and member of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Barrett Station, where she was a member of the Altar Society and the Legion of Mary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Numa Eugene Barnaba; parents Alcid and Mercedes Arceneaux; sisters Belle Taylor, Marie Fuselier and Olivia Fuselier; and brothers Jacque Arceneaux, Russell Arceneaux and Ashton Arceneaux.
She is survived by: four sons, James Barnaba (and wife Nelda), Earl Barnaba, John Barnaba (Pam), Peter Barnaba, Sr. (Deborah); and two daughters, Marie Nichols and Monica Gorell (husband Patrick), all of Barrett Station. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Eric, Henry, Michelle, Danielle, Jean-Pierre, Shameka, Peter, Jr., Tykisha, Tameka and Jamal; two step-grandchildren, Shannan and Allen; and three great-grandchildren, Dylan Mi-Unique and Trinity; as well as three sister in laws, Essie Barnaba of Louisiana, Marie Barnaba of Oklahoma, and Helen Barnaba of Houston; one brother-in-law, Felix Barnaba of Houston, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be today, July 22. Viewing will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Rosary will be from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Mass Services will be at 8 p.m., at St. Martine De Porres Catholic Church, Crosby, with Rev. A. Ekanem, Rev. H. Duffy and Rev. R. Coates officiating. Burial will be Wednesday, July 23 at 10 a.m. at Whites Chapel Cemetery in Highlands.

ETHEL McMAHAN
Ethel McMahon, 84, departed this life, July 20, 2003.
She was born December 21, 1918 in New Braunfels. She was a resident of Houston for most of her adult life, and spent the last several years in Baytown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Russell McMahon and her daughter, Betty Lou Barfield.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Sid Barfield, granddaughters, Connie Lynn Lard and Barbara Ann Smith, great-granddaughters, Catherine Elizabeth Lard and Jenna Lynn Lard of Baytown; great-grandson, Taylor Wayne Smith of Jacksonville, Florida; great-granddaughters, Kristen Nichole Smith and Kelly Elizabeth Palmer; great-great-granddaughter, Chandler Elizabeth Palmer of Jacksonville, Florida.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, July 22, 2003 at Earthman Funeral Home Chapel in Baytown.
Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2003 at Earthman Chapel, Baytown with Rev. Roy Cloudt presiding.
Interment will be a private family service.

DONALD ALVIN ROBINSON
Donald Alvin Robinson, 94, of Baytown, passed away, Sunday, July 20, 2003 at his home.
Donald was born July 5, 1909 in Sulpher Springs, Tx. He retired as a clerk for the Harris County Justice of the Peace Office and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a member of the Baytown Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary E. (Maizie) Robinson; daughters and son-in-law, Donna Heinsohn, Ronda McLane and husband Steve, grandchildren, Sandra and Stan Ites, Kimberly Heinsohn, Stefani McLane, Steve and Tony McLane. Great-grandchildren, Tyler Ites and Kaylee Ites, two sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today, July 22, 2003 at San Jacinto Cemetery at I-10 and Beltway 8.

CLARA RICHMOND
Clara Richmond, 84, of Baytown, passed away, July 19, 2003.
Clara moved to Baytown from Plantersville, Texas at an early age. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband L.M. (Morris) Richmond, sisters, Eleanor Fuchs, Lucille Phillips, Delores Williamson and brother E.J. (Dutch) Plocheck.
Survivors are sisters, Genevieve Klapesky of Anderson, Tx.; Lena Zawacki of Houston; brothers, Manual Plocheck of Van, Tx.; Willie Plocheck of Crosby. Also, her beloved caretaker, Kathy Martin, neighbors Erma and Woody Woods and friend, Generia Jacobs and many nieces and nephews.
Clara loved to bake, cook, crochet, and knit various items. She enjoyed very much giving those items to her friends, relatives and to church functions.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today, July 22, 2003 at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook, Baytown. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2003 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1907 Carolina, Baytown.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Williamson, Philip Plocheck, Douglas Phillips, Bobby Plocheck, Eddie Zawacki and Larry Klapesky.
