Leighton F. Cannon
Leighton F. Cannon, 77, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, in a local hospital. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Waco Memorial Park, with Rev. Jack Myers officiating. A memorial service will follow at Lakewood Christian Church at 1 p.m. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.
Mr. Cannon was born Feb. 12, 1924, in Hill County. He attended Hillsboro High School and Hillsboro Junior College. During World War II he served in the Army Air Corp. He married Patti A. Marshall on Aug. 8, 1944, at Central Christian Church in Hillsboro. After the war he started to work for the then Texas Highway Department, where he started at the bottom and worked his way up. He retired in 1984, after serving 38 years. He served as resident engineer in McLennan, Bosque and Hamilton counties and retired from Coryell County. He was a board member of the Department of Transportation District No.9 Credit Union for a number of years. Mr. Cannon participated in the 7290 Traffic Net Amateur Radio Group. An active member of Lakewood Christian Church, he had been an elder and was also supervisor of the construction of the new sanctuary.
Sammy Pat Lee
Funeral services for Sammy Pat Lee, 63, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Pace-Stancil Chapel Coldspring under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, with Don Shannon officiating. Interment was at Street Cemetery in Coldspring.
Mr. Lee was born Jan. 25, 1939, and passed away Jan. 30, 2002.
Mrs. Emmie Manuel
A memorial service for Mrs. Emmie Manuel, 88, is set for 2:30 p.m. today, at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Garrison officiating. The service is under the direction of Huntsville Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Huntsville Funeral Home.

John Walter Munselle Jr.
Services for John Walter Munselle Jr., 56, of Amarillo, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Jeff Collins, Bishop, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors.
Mr. Munselle was born Jan. 5, 1946 in Waco and died Friday, Oct. 4, 2002. He married Marianne Bowthorpe on June 22, 1973 in Houston. A resident of Huntsville for many years before moving to Amarillo, he worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 20 years, retiring as an assistant warden in March 2001. He leaves behind family and friends that loved him dearly.
Beverly Elizabeth Hoot Hood
