Earnest Chumley
Services for Earnest Lozell Chumley were held Oct. 31, 2006, at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel under the direction of Laurel Land Funeral Home in Dallas.
Chumley was born July 8, 1930, and died Oct. 28, 2006.
He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his son James Chumley; daughter Deborah Ann; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters Geraldine Williams, Dallas and Kathryn Holland, Mesquite.

Ruth Henson
Ruth K. Henson, 84, Kemp, died Oct. 27, 2006 in Cedar Hill.
Born Ruth Kathleen LaBreck Feb. 13, 1922, in Black River, New York, she was the second of five children born to Nelson and Anna LaBreck.
She was a graduate of Watertown Senior High School of Watertown, New York in 1940.
She was married to James E. “Jim” Henson of Kaufman in 1942 and there began a union that would last fifty-seven wonderful years.
Henson is preceded in death by her husband Jim, youngest son David Allan Henson, brothers Ross, Donald and Nelson LaBreck.
Survivors include her son James Kent Henson, Cedar Hill: grandsons Todd A. Henson and his wife Lynette, Wills Point; grandson Aaron S. Henson and his wife Alisha, Forney; great-grandchildren Clayton, Gracie, Aaron, and J.J.; sister Dora Vine, Watertown, N.Y.; sisters-in-law Edith Cernock of Emory; and Dorothy Lewis. Dallas; Barbara Shinkle, Forney; and Jane Henson, Dallas and numerous nieces and nephews.
Having spent many years, along with her husband, Jim, traveling the Bluegrass Music circuit, Ruth leaves behind a multitude of friends from Texas to Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and all across the southern U.S.
She was a faithful member of Tolosa Baptist Church of Kemp. Her family wishes to express deep gratitude for all the cards, visits, and prayers that have been offered in her honor.
Services for Ruth K. Henson were held Oct. 30, 2006, in the Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel in Kemp. Officiating was the Rev. Jay Bowen of Tolosa Baptist Church and Brother James Hughes of Brownsboro. Interment was in Kemp Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandsons Todd and Aaron Henson, Ronnie Anderson, Billy Cozart, Bill Fuller and Harvey Gene Plant.
Special thanks are extended to the second floor staff at Walnut Place in Dallas, to her nurses and aides at Crestview Court in Cedar Hill and to the members of Lions Hospice, whose love for and dedication to her care will forever be remembered.

Judy Overall
Memorial services for Judy LeFlore Overall were held Oct. 27, 2006, in the Anderson Clayton Bros. Chapel in Kemp.
Overall was born Dec. 31, 1955, in Dallas to the late Robert and Syble Marie (Burrows) LeFlore and died Oct. 22, 2006, in Gun Barrel City.
She was a graduate of the PCT “Patient Care Technician” Program at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens. She attended the Christian Life Center in Gun Barrel City.
Survivors include her sons Donnie Overall and wife Betty, Mabank; and Jason Overall, Gun Barrel City; daughter Amy White and her husband Eric, Trinidad; grandchildren Jeremy, Tate, Blake, Ericka, Kilby, Britney, Donnie Ray, Kirstin, Xavier and Kennedy; brother Rick LeFlore, Wills Point; sisters Diane Smith, Bullard; and Reba Anderson, Willis; numerous other relatives and friends.

Shirley Groves
Services for Shirley Jean Groves, 66, Mabank, were held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, in the Anderson Clayton Bros. Chapel in Kemp with the Rev. Dub Henry officiating.
Interment was in the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. of Kemp.
Groves was born Jan. 29, 1940, in Dallas, to the late Emanuel and Reba (Jenkins) McFarlin and died Oct. 27, 2006, in Mabank.
She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers in Gun Barrel and the Literary Club, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary No. 8785 in Mesquite.
She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone. Her son, Russell DesJardins, and her brother, Frank McFarlin, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband John D. Groves of Mabank; children, Pricilla Boecker and her husband Bill of Fort Worth, Makayla Porter and her husband of Mesquite, Beverly Sue Tiller and her husband Charles of Mesquite, Cynthia Ann Gerard and her husband Gene of Dallas, Timothy Douglas Groves and his wife Sharon of Mesquite, Tammy Marie Templeton and her husband Jim of Mesquite, Natalie Jean Munson of Mesquite, John D. Johnson and his wife Tammy of Birmington, Washington, and Jacqueline Diane Sena of Brimington, Washington; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard McFarlin of Seven Points, and Wendell McFarlin of Whitehouse; sister, Joy Montgomery of Mesquite, and numerous nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Joe Weaver, David Lewis, Troy Graham, Severo Valdez, John Smith and David Crystal.
Honorary pallbearers were Manuel Salinas, Tommy Mann, Melvin Cox, Terry Thomas, and Bill Capps.

Lemeul McNew
Services for Lemeul Boyce McNew, 74, Eustace, were held Oct. 28, 2006, at the First Baptist Church of Eustace with the Rev. Paul McKinney officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery in Athens under the direction of Gordon-Foster-Brown Funeral Home.
McNew was born March 10, 1932, in Knott and died Oct. 26, 2006, in ETMC in Athens. He was preceded in death by his father John McNew, mother Minnie McNew and granddaughter DeAnn Washington.
Lemeul and Dorothy McNew were married Feb. 3, 1982, in Norman, Okla. He was a loving husband, father and most of all Pappy. A friend to all he met.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy, Eustace; sons Darrell and wife Jane, Athens; and David Sanford and wife Pam, Oakridge, Tenn.; daughters Candy and husband Paul Henderson, Crandall; Julie McNew, Athens; Linda and husband Norman Reeves, Eustace; and Robin Phillips, Dallas; sister Lanita Whitley, Big Lake.
Pallbearers were Ricky Pogue, Steven Gonzales, Michael Dale Voyles, Mark Freeman, Alberto Salazaar and Rocky Lance Reeves.
Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Elizabeth LeGrand
In memory of Elizabeth Ann LeGrand, born Jan. 20, 1940, and laid to rest Oct. 28, 2006. Burial was in Pittsburg under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home in Seven Points.
LeGrand touched many peoples lives. She was a caring and giving person. We lost a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and best friend. She will be loved and remembered.
Survivors include her husband Jimmy LeGrand; sons William and Kim LeGrand; David LeGrand; grandchildren Ashley, Nicole, Rebecca LeGrand and Jed Dupree IV; great-granddaughter Mkayla Dupree; brother James Lee and sisters Eula Dixon and Betty Hamilton; and a host of friends.
Burial was in Pittsburg under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points.

Charlotte Cotten
Services for Charlotte Scott Cotten, 94, Athens, were held Nov. 1, 2006, at Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Denny Burris and Wiley Bennet officiating. Burial was in Mankin Cemetery in Trinidad under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Cotten was born Aug. 16, 1912, in Henderson County and died Oct. 29, 2006, in Athens. She was preceded in death by her first husband Charles Scott, sisters Marselle Stegall and Floy “Boots” Luce.
She was a lifetime resident of Athens and member of Grace Community Baptist Church. She was a teacher for 34 years in Dallas and was a member of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband Grady Cotten, Athens; nieces Maridille Cooksey and husband James, Tool; Wynelle Reeves, Mabank; Judy Groom and husband Ronnie, Ohio; and Janet Miguel and husband Joe, Canton.

Lois Summerall
Services were held for Lois Summerall, Oct. 30, 2006, in Providence Baptist Church in Tool with Bro. Ivan Anthony officiating. Burial was in Tool Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home, Seven Points.
Summerall was born Dec. 29, 1917, in Tool and died Oct. 25, 2006, in Athens.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Edna Dupree; husband of 65 years Roland Summerall; sister Josie Thompson; brothers Chester Dupree, Richard Dupree and Abis Lemmon
Survivors include sisters Joann Summerall, Yvonne and John Noel; brother C.R. and Shirley Summerall Jr.; Ruby Jedlicka; brothers C.H. Dupree, Troy Dupree, Jerry Dupree, Dennis Dupree and Stanley Dupree; granddaughters Michelle Buttlar, Melissa Summerall; grandsons John Leland Noel, Jimmy Noel; three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Glenda Thompson
Services for Glenda Dolores Thompson, 60, Malakoff, were held Nov. 22, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in Malakoff with Bill McGill officiating under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff.
Thompson was born March 4, 1946, in Dallas to Tom Plachy and Naomi Hooten Whitehead and died Nov. 18, 2006, after a long illness at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Thompson, sister Marie Womack and father Tom Plachy.
Survivors include her children Alan Thompson and wife Laura, Wills Point; Ricky Thompson, Edgewood; Melissa Crawford and husband Todd Gilmore, Malakoff; Shawn Thompson and wife Jill, Florida; mother Naomi Whitehead, Malakoff; brothers Charles Hammond, Malakoff, Walter Hammond, Canton; and Gerald Plachy, Kemp; sister Wanda Shackelford, Malakoff; stepsisters Louise Martindale, Missouri; Loyce Nance and Joyce Copenhaven, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren Mike, Chance, Kayla, Kasey, Kristy, Kylie, Kelsie, Krysta, Kaelan, Kourtney, Taylor, Tyler and Tanner; great-grandchildren C.J., Jennifer, Libby and Riley.

Suszanne Dyer Milliron
Services for our beloved daughter, mother, Nene, sister and aunt Suszanne Dyer Milliron were held Nov. 11, 2006, at Tomlinson Funeral Chapel, Seven Points, with Bro. Don Bell officiating. Burial was in King Cemetery.
Milliron was born Sept. 13, 1957, in Athens and died Nov. 6, 2006, in Tyler. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Bill and Margie Wood, grandfather Barley Dyer, aunt Jimmie Flanagan and uncle Jack Templin.
Survivors include her parents W.T. and Billie Dyer, Seven Points; daughter Tera Hamilton, Seven Points; son Kelly and wife Jill Harrod, Brownsboro; sisters Judy and husband Billy Harrod, Brownsboro; Jana Shelton and brother-in-law John Scott, Seven Points; grandchildren B.J. and Bethany Harrod, Brownsboro; Jacob and Dakota Hamilton, Seven Points; nieces Kristal Bragg, Misty Dykes, Shana and Katy Shelton; nephews Troy Harrod and Cole Shelton; three great-nieces and five great-nephews; special aunt Lanell Templin; special friend Kelly Pople; cousins Deb Boles, Doug Templin and Missy Templin; grandmother Mildred Dyer.

Tony Inman
Tony Calvert Inman was born in Fresno, Calif. June 18, 1944, to Anthony and Vida Barrow Inman.
Tony passed away at his home in Kemp Nov. 15, 2006.
Inman was raised in Dallas where he lived most of his life.
He moved to Kemp in 1999. Tony worked three years for Joy Cook Designs in Dallas. He was a member of the St. Ann Catholic Church of Kaufman.
Survivors include a son: Samuel Austin Inman, Wills Point; sisters Pat Cooper, Kaufman; Mickie Hooten and husband Marvin, Kemp; nieces and nephews Bill and Rhonda Hooten, Dana Hooten, Nicole Hooten, Tony and Joni Hooten, Brian and Brett Hooten and Judy Morgan; many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, at Kemp Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.

Clydean White
Services for Clydean Mavis White, 84, Mabank, were held Nov. 18, 2006, at Cedar Creek Memorial Park with the Rev. Ron Coston officiating, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
White was born Sept. 21, 1922, in Waren, Ark, and died Nov. 16, 2006, in Athens.
She was a secretary and had lived in Mabank for the past 22 years. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church.
Survivors include her daughter Deborah L. Wilcox, Mabank; granddaughter Stephanie A. Hanes, Mt. Alba; grandsons Shawn Michael Uzzell, Keller; and Marvez Lemont Bacy, Mabank; great-grandsons Brandon Ray Hanes, Fort Worth; Blaine Ray Lee Hanes, Fort Worth; Landon Bacy, Mabank; Marek Bacy, Mabank; and Maddox Bacy, Mabank; great-granddaughters Mia Lillian Bacy, Mabank; Shayna Nicole Uzzell, Brittany Uzzell and Kayli Uzzell, all of Keller.
