W.N. "SMOKEY" RAMSEY
W. N. “Smokey” Ramsey, 77, of Deer Park, was born December 16, 1924, in Ranger, Texas and passed away Thursday, October 3, 2002, in a Pasadena hospital.
He was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Pasadena and was retired from Colonial Pipeline Company. Also, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of the V.F.W.
Visitation will be Friday at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday October 5, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. at the 1st United Methodist Church of Pasadena with Rev. Kip Gilps officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Shiloh Cemetery in Mt. Enterprise.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Ramsey of Deer Park; son and daughter-in-law, James and Jennifer Ramsey of Katy; daughters and son-in-law, Annese and Byron Jones of Baytown and Roxy Lorraine Crocker of Bellaire; sisters, Maxine Hamilton of Carlisle and Willa Vern Lee of Henderson; brothers, Joe Ramsey of Austin and Pat Ramsey of Mt. Vernon, and grandchildren, Jennifer Jones, Brian Jones, Kyle Ramsey, Meredith Ramsey, and Mallory Ramsey.

MRS. MYRTLE HADNOT
On September 30, 2002, Mrs. Myrtle Hadnot was called to her heavenly home.
She was born March 14, 1920 to the late Dutch and Ellen (Rawls) Shelby. She grew up in Jasper, Texas where she met and married Jack Hadnot in April 1936.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hadnot, her father, Dutch Shelby, her mother, Ellen Shelby, two sisters, Dollie Brown and Cammie Seale, a brother, James Shelby and one great-granddaughter, Kenya Fontenot.
Mrs. Hadnot leaves to mourn four sons, Thomas Hadnot (Gay) of Baytown; George Hadnot, Henry Hadnot, Fred Hadnot (Linda) of Houston; seven daughters, Bettye Fontenot, Mae Guillory, Bobbye Scott, Marie DeBine and Patsy Hadnot of Beaumont; Mary Bronson of Jasper; Cammie Standley (George) of Dallas; 42 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, uncle, Mr. Frank Rawls (Joyce) sisters, Mrs. Lillie Jones and Della Fisher (Charlie) of Beaumont and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 7 - 9 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2002 at Coleman’s Mortuary, 1158 North Fletcher, Jasper and again at 12:30 - 1:45 at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2002 at Armstrong Memorial C.M.E. Methodist Church, County Road 114 in Jasper. Interment will be at the Campground Cemetery.

FRANK ABRAHAM
Frank Abraham, 77, of Baytown, departed this life on Thursday, September 26, 2002 at a local hospital. His passing brought sadness to the hearts of all who loved him.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jeannette Williams and his grandson, Donald Abraham.
To cherish his memories he leaves five daughters, Gloria, Jeannie, Ola, Shari and Myra, six sons, Frank, Jr., Ocie, Kenneth, Ricky, Charles and Ethan, 26 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A wake will be held on Friday, October 4, 2002 from 7 - 9 p.m. at Robey Funeral Home, 403 W. Sterling Ave., Baytown.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2002 at Robey Funeral Home with Pastor Mary Frazier officiating.

CHARLES "CHUCK" SCHAEFFER
Charles “Chuck” Schaeffer, 63, of Alba, Tx. passed away, September 30, 2002 at his home.
Chuck was born, May 4, 1939 in Galveston. Chuck lived in Alba about 1 1/2 years moving here from Arlington where he lived four years. Most of his life he lived in Baytown. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired telephone installer for GTE.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Lewis and Icie Lee Whittley Schaeffer, Sr.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Moffett of Dickenson; one grandchild and many friends.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2002 at VA National Cemetery, Dallas with Bro. Jim Atkins officiating.

BILLY JACK MALLOY, SR.
Billy Jack Malloy, Sr. (Bill Malloy), 76, born in Bunch, Okla. in 1926 passed away, Saturday, September 28, 220 in Texarakana.
Bill served in the U.S. Navy in WW II on the Battleship USS Mississippi. He loved his church and enjoyed Golden Years. He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Malloy, sons, Billy Jack, Jr. and wife, Ceslie, Tim Malloy and wife, Jennifer, seven grandchildren, three sisters, Louise Davis, Irene Sinclair, Geneva Smith, brother, Bobby Malloy of California; special sister-in-law, Billy Malloy of Baytown; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

WILLIE NELSON UPCHURCH, JR.
Willie Nelson “Mr. Church” Upchurch, Jr. 63, passed away Sunday at his home.
“Church” retired from the U.S. Steel in 1987 to establish a local business with his long time friend and partner, Bobby Lynn Reynolds. He was an avid fisherman and sports enthusiast.
He is preceded in death by his father Willie Nelson Upchurch, Sr. and his sister Rene’e Quebodeaux. He is survived by his mother Nellie Upchurch, brother Bobby Upchurch, daughters Karia Roberts and husband Tommy, Kayla Bishop and husband Ricky, Kemberly Scheidt and husband Glenn, and grandchildren Joshua, Emille, and Hayley Roberts, Ricky Bishop, Will Scheidt, loving companion Ren’e Bond and his nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visitation and services. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be today September 30, 2002 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Navarre’s. SALOME SANDOVAL
Salome Sandoval, beloved, devoted, and compassionate wife, mother, and grandmother, courageously departed this earth to accept her angel wings on September 27, 2002.
Born November 28, 1932, Salome was a life-long resident of Baytown and graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. She dedicated her life to building and nurturing her family with her first love, husband Daniel Sandoval. As a reflection of their love and devotion, Daniel and Salome were blessed with four sons, Daniel, Thomas, Gilbert and Angel. Salome approached life with an open and compassionate heart. She graciously extended her generosity to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Salome leaves her love and faith-inspired spirit of life in the hearts of those who love her. Salome will be remembered as a truly compassionate mother and friend. Her glamorous and gentle demeanor will remain a poignant memory with those who will keep her in their hearts forever.
Salome is preceded in death by her father, Matias Galvan, her mother, Carolina S. Galvan and her daughter-in-law, Valerie O. Sandoval.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel, children, Daniel and Melissa Sandoval, Thomas Sandoval, Gilbert Sandoval and Angel Sandoval. Grandchildren, David, Lisa, Olivia, Sarah, Gilbert, Daniel and Brianna Sandoval. Sisters-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Hilda Pena, Melquiades Sandoval, Oscar and Barbara Sandoval and Thomas and Cecilia Sandoval. Also, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and life long friends.
The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2002 and a Rosary will be held Sunday, September the 29, 2002 at 7 p.m. at Earthmans Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77520, 281-422-8181.
