Mildred Clemmons
Services for Mildred L. Clemmons, 84, Rosser, were held Aug. 25, 2004, at the Anderson Clayton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Kaufman with the Rev. Bill Caloway officiating. Interment followed in the Elmo Cemetery in Elmo under the direction of Anderson Clayton Brothers Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Clemmons was born April 3, 1920, in Kaufman County to the late L.B. and Emma Samples Clemmons and died Aug. 22, 2004, in Kaufman. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and five brothers.
She was a member of the Cottonwood Baptist Church and retired from Dal-Tile Corp. in Dallas.
Survivors include her sisters, Opal Eppler, Canton; Ruby Baucom, Dallas; and Gener Baxley, Gun Barrel City; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
Lukas Dowell
Services for Lukas Dowell, 29, Eustace, were held Aug. 23, 2004, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Frank Upchurch officiating. Interment was in Moorehead-Melton Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Dowell was born Feb. 7, 1975, in San Antonio and died Aug. 20, 2004.

Thomas Richardson Jr.
Graveside services for Thomas Garland Richardson Jr., 64, Mabank, were held Aug. 24, 2004, in the Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery with Pastor Charles Gates officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home of Corsicana.
Richardson was born Dec. 15, 1939, to Thomas Garland Richardson Sr. and Ruby Winters Richardson in Roane, and died Aug. 21, 2004, in Athens.
He was a carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Richardson, Mabank; son, Robert Richardson, Mabank; daughters, Connie Housewright, Royce City; Patricia Jones, Fredericksburg; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; mother, Ruby Richardson, Mabank; sister, Carolyn Carter, Phalba.
Pallbearers were Robert Richardson, Charles Carter Sr., Charles Carter Jr., Aaron Samuelson, Randy Crow and Scott Crow.
Mary Ann Downing
Services for Mary Ann Downing, 64, Athens, were held Aug. 21, 2004, at First Presbyterian Church of Athens with the Rev. Joe Warren officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.
Downing was born Sept. 8, 1939, in Mabank to Samuel David Sr. and Hettie Estelle Meyer Downing, and died July 28, 2004, in Athens. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, A.J. Downing, Joe Downing and Adolph Downing.
She graduated from Mabank High School and attended Henderson County Junior College, North Texas State University and graduated from East Texas State University.
She was an insurance underwriter in Dallas, Tampa, Fla., and San Antonio. She retired from the Cigna Company in 2001. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Athens.
Survivors include her brothers, S.D. Downing Jr. and wife Jackie, Kaufman; and Tommy Downing and wife Mamie, Athens; sisters-in-law, Margery Downing, Mabank; Lou Downing, New Braunfels; and Lucy Thomas, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Gary Downing, Tommy J. Downing, David Hoffman, Seth Moore, Charles Downing and Jonathan Downing.

Kenneth Parks
Services for Kenneth Parks, 58, Payne Springs, were held Aug. 26, 2004, at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
Arrangements were under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Parks was born Aug. 18, 1946, in Dallas and died Aug. 22, 2004, in Athens. He was preceded in death by his mother, Madie Davidson and father, Lonnie Lee Parks.
He was a salesman and a veteran.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth and wife, Delina, Payne Springs; stepdaughter, Reba Williams, Payne Springs; sister, Doris McPherson, Payne Springs; half-brothers, Jerry Williams and Frankie Williams, both of Payne Springs; former wife and best friend, Ann Brown, Payne Springs; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Christine L. Hanscom
Services of remembrance for Christine L. Hanscom, 91, Tool, were held Aug. 24, 2004, at First Baptist Church of Tool with the Revs. Jim Renfro and Mike Manning officiating.
Interment followed in the Kemp Cemetery under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home of Kemp.
Hanscom was born Oct. 4, 1912, in Carrol to Robert Leonard and Elizabeth (Adams) Tucker, and died Aug. 21, 2004, in Athens. Her husband, Maurice E. Hanscom, preceded her in death March 6, 1995.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tool and also Calvary Baptist Church of Kemp. She served in the U.S. Navy as a Drill Inspector during World War II.
She graduated from Texas Women's College in Fort Worth, and taught first grade in Grand Prairie, Hurst, Euless, Bedford and Coppell ISDs.
Survivors include her daughter, Brandi Beverly Elizabeth Hanscom, Tool; grandsons, Peter VanHekken, Joel VanHekken V, Matthew and Corey VanHekken and Cody L. Williamson; sisters, Beverly Black, Jacksboro; and Yvonne Ewing, New Jersey; nieces, Delores Baty and Eleanor Borg.
Pallbearers were Scotty Collins, J.P. Fleming, Jerry Buck, Charles Bishop, Mic Hudson and McKenzie Saunders.
Honorary pallbearers were Tom Benton (in honor of Maurice Hanscom) and Pete Hogue (in honor of Vernon Black).
John W. Moseley
Services for John W. Moseley, 74, Eustace, were held Aug. 24, 2004, at the First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Patrick Papp and Jerry Williams officiating. Burial was in Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Moseley was born April 27, 1930, in Belcher, La., and died Aug. 21, 2004, in Athens. He was preceded in death by his father, William D. Moseley, and mother, Myrtle Ann (Nix) Moseley.
Previously of Arlington, Moseley had lived in Eustace since 1985. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War.
He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge No. 1199, Eastern Star No. 1062 and the VFW No. 4477 in Grand Prairie.
Survivors include his wife, Inez (Hammer) Moseley, Eustace; sons, John W. Moseley III and wife Heather, Hurst; Tom Moseley, N. Barbara Acquisto
Services for Barbara Acquisto, 71, Kemp, were held Aug. 23, 2004, at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery with Father Jerry Morriss officiating.
Acquisto was born July 31, 1933, in Dallas and died Aug. 20, 2004, in Tyler.
Previously of Tool, she had lived in Kemp two years. She was a member of the Cedar Creek Country Club WGA, Friday Bridge Group and Four C-Ables.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Sam Acquisto, Kemp; daughters, Anita Aldridge and Warern Dixon, McKinney; Cathy Phillips and husband Garry, League City; Judy Hagood and husband Gary, Austin; and Tommie Kenas and husband Bill, Carrollton; grandchildren, Alyson, Amy and Angela Eldridge; Michelle and Justin Phillips; Anthony and Theresa Hagood; and Todd and Tyler Rozelle; brother, Jack Powers, Guntersville, Ala.; sister, Tricia Echols, Shelby, Ala.; aunt, Marion Armstrong, Scurry.

William V. Summerall
William Virgil Summeralll, 92, Tool, died Sept. 4, 2004, in Dallas.
Summerall was born Oct. 24, 1911, in Tool.
He retired from Frito-Lay and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Cliff.
He served in the U.S. Army 475th Infantry in World War II in the China, Burma, India theatre of operations. He will be lovingly remembered for his strength of character, his stories, humor and dedication to his family.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Virginia; daughters, Patricia Roberson and Phyllis Summerall; son, Richard Summerall; grandchildren, Randy Roberson, Sandy Shown, Kathy Reed and Chelle Summerall; great-grandchildren, David Johnston, Britney Shown, Stephen Roberson, Michael Roberson, LeAnne Roberson; and sister, Ora Mae Goodson.
Eugene Pendley
Services for Eugene "Bud" Pendley, 78, Tool, were held Sept. 10, 2004, in Shiloh-Ovila Cemetery, Ovila with the Rev. Kenneth Hensley officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.0
Pendley was born Sept. 9, 1925, in Ovila to Neophlis and Lena (Greenfield) Pendley and died Sept. 7, 2004, in Dallas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fairy Lee.
He worked for Baylor Hospital in Dallas as a masonry craftsman, retiring in 1988. He lived in the Cedar Creek Lake area since 1974 and was a member of Central Baptist Church of Mabank. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II.

Diane Dornak
Services of remembrance for Diane Dornak, 48, Irving, were held Sept. 4, 2004, at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home Chapel in Kemp, with Bishop Richard Dotter officiating. Interment followed at the Kemp Cemetery.
Dornak was born July 23, 1956, to Walter and Helen Wolverton Jackson and died Sept. 2, 2004, in Irving after a short and courageous battle with a brain tumor. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Jackson, and a niece, Teri Landrum.
She married Mike Dornak Aug. 10, 1989, in Dallas. She was a loving person whose shining personality will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She never met a child or animal she didn't like.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Dornak, Irving; mother, Helen Jackson, McKinney; sisters, Fae Landrum, Celina; Kathy Strange, Plano; brothers, Eddie Jackson, Celina; and Larry Jackson, Wylie; nieces, Carol Wohlgemuth, Andred Landrum and April Williamson; nephew, Bryan Mahaney; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Martha V. Carr
Services for Martha V. Carr, 55, Mabank, were held Sept. 11, 2004, at Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Howard and Dr. Ron Holloman officiating.
Burial followed in Oaklawn Cemetery, U.S. Highway 175 under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Carr was born Sept. 8, 1949, in Dallas and passed away Sept. 8, 2004, in Kaufman.
She was preceded in death by her father, Baynham Carr and sister, Ruthie Carr.
She was a graduate of the Old Mesquite High School and attended the Christian College of the Southwest in Mesquite.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Eustace and the Lions Club.
Survivors include her mother, Lena Burk and husband, Finnis, Mabank; brother, Ben Carr and wife, Lisa, Prairieville; sister, Joan Hurley and husband, Clayton, Gun Barrel City; stepsister, Judy Junnell Miller and husband, Bob, Mabank; stepbrother, Buddy Burk, Mesquite; five nieces, five nephews, two great-nieces; two great-nephews; other family members and a host of friends.
