Corrie Ledford Hamilton
Services for Corrie Ledford Hamilton, 104, Lubbock, formerly of Knox City, were held Dec. 27, 2003, at the Knox City Foursquare Church with the Rev. Paul Chambers, Sequoyah Reynolds and Chaplain Ken Horn officiating. Burial followed in Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Mansell-Smith Funeral Home in Knox City.
Hamilton was born June 4, 1899, in Troup to the late Albert Ledford and Mary Berry Ledford and died Dec. 24, 2003, at a Lubbock nursing home. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charlie Hamilton, five children, two sisters and two brothers.
She was a former and charter member of the Knox City Foursquare Church and First Nazarene Church in Gun Barrel City. She had lived in parts of three centuries.
Survivors include her sons, Jack Hamilton and wife, Betty, Idalou; Chester Hamilton and wife, Loretta, Mt. Pleasant; three daughters, Judy Cox, Harlingen; Ida Strickland, Mabank; and Nell Watson, Mabank; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Nina Fay Coker
A memorial service for Nina Fay Coker, 87, Gun Barrel City was held Dec. 26, 2003, in Missionary Baptist Church, Mabank, with the Rev. Micky Lofits officiating.

Dwayne M. Richman Sr.
Services for Dwayne M. Richman Sr., 76, Eustace, were held Dec. 26, 2003, at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Richman was born March 28, 1927, in Eustace and died Dec. 22, 2003, in Athens.
He was in finance, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II and Korea.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his son, Dwayne Richman Jr., Minneapolis, Minn.; two granddaughters; sister, Mary Elizabeth Malone, Eustace; brother, Ira Jarrel Richman, Athens; five nephews and three nieces.
Nieces and nephews were pallbearers.

Frances Buenneke
Services of remembrance for Frances Buenneke, 68, Kemp, were held Dec. 6, 2003, at the Kemp Cemetery with Rev. Scott Schaller officiating. Interment was under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home of Kemp.
Buenneke was born Feb. 10, 1935 in Independence, Iowa, to Edmund and Florence Kemp Fratzke, and died Dec. 4, 2003, in Athens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ray Buenneke Sr., Nov. 17, 1997; grandsons, Kurt Witcosky and Kelly Dean Peck; and brothers, Lloyd Fratzke and Bill Bowers.
She attended St. Peters Lutheran Church in Gun Barrel City.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Bill Roberts, Sachse; Kay and Ben Bloomfield, Kemp; Rita and Clifford Campbell, Whitney; and Penny and Carl Saunders, Kemp; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Buenneke Jr., and Deborah, Malakoff; grandchildren, Brett Barker and wife Ree; Roger Barker and wife Shardette; Charolatte Wayne and husband, Carl Curtis Campbell; Melissa Buenneke, and Katy Jo Pollock; great-grandchildren, Travis Dale Barker, Jonathan Matthew Barker, Dustin Jones, Sonnie Wayne and Collin Wayne.
Pallbearers were Brett Barker, Roger Barker, Curtis Campbell, Bill Roberts, Clifford Campbell and Kenneth Buenneke Jr.

Clara Lou Smith
Services for Clara Lou Smith, 59, Desoto, were held Dec. 8, 2003, at Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bob Parry officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Smith was born June 22, 1944, in Palestine and died Dec. 5, 2003, in Dallas.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She resided in Desoto for 30 years.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert Smith, Desoto; sons, Mark Allen Smith, Desoto; Robert Windham Smith, Desoto; daughter, Phyllis Stallings, Gun Barrel City; stepbrother, Robert Lynn Kirksey, McKinney; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Don Petty, Johnny Rowe, Michael Smith, Robert Smith, Scott Stallings and Kenny Weems. Alternate was Damon Tracomi.
Mable Lorene Stone
Services of remembrance for Mable Lorene Stone, 88, Mabank, were held Dec. 9, 2003, at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kemp, with the Rev. Marvin Huddler officiating. Interment was at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas, under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kemp.
Stone was born Aug. 12, 1915, in Quinlan to Roy and Lillie Mae Mitchell and died Dec. 6, 2003, in Terrell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester G. Stone Sr.; and a daughter, Sandra Ranea Stone.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eustace.
Survivors include her children, Wanda Harrison and husband, Don, Mesquite; C.G. Stone Jr.. and wife Grace, Mesa, Ariz.; and Sherry Daniel and husband, Ralph, Mabank; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Roy Phillips, Shawn Amador, Phillip Ortiz, David Lee Davis, Kenny Dutton and Julian Tanguma.

Hazel Reed
Funeral services for Hazel Irwin Ramseyer Reed, 94, Kemp, were held December 7, 2003, at the Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kemp, with Rev. Tom Gragg officiating. Interment followed in Baker Cemetery in Kaufman County under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kemp.
Reed was born Dec. 29, 1908, in Mt. Ida, Ark., the daughter of Joseph Thomas Monroe and Amanda Kinsey Monroe. She was the eighth of nine siblings and they all preceded her in death. A son, Clifford Ramseyer, Jr., and a daughter, Beverly White, also preceded her.
She was married to Clifford Silas Ramseyer, Sr., who was a Baptist minister and had pastored several churches in the East Texas area prior to his death in 1968.
They were working as Dorm Parents at the Dallas County Boys Home when Rev. Ramseyer passed away. She continued to work for the Dallas County Medical Dept. in her Nursing profession until she retired in 1980.
Hazel married Wesley William Reed in 1970, and they resided in DeSoto, TX. until moving to the Styx community in 1979.
Wes was employed at Dallas County as the Paint Dept. Supervisor until his retirement in 1982. Wes passed away in 1989, after a long battle with cancer.
She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse, and always worked in a hospital close to where Cliff was pastoring a church.
She managed to always keep up with her church work, serving as Sunday School teacher, Music Director, WMU coordinator and many other areas of service.
Pallbearers were Ojay Finstad, Harold A. Almon, Vidal Jones, Gary Yarbrough, Scot Pringle, Gavin Pringle and Harold Almon.

Laura Stockton Bentley
Services for Laura Stockton Bentley, 90, Mabank, were held Dec. 9, 2003, at Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bill Eason officiating. Burial was in Stockton Family Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Bentley was born March 23, 1913, in Erim, Okla., and died Dec. 7, 2003, in Athens. She was preceded in death by three brothers.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mabank and The Daughters of the American Revolution. Previously of Austin, she had resided in Mabank for seven years.
Survivors include her son, Charles W. Bentley, Sugarland; daughter, Charlcie Fogleman, Tool; grandchildren, Caren and Jerry Barnes, Kemp; Calton and Carol Fogleman, Kemp; Carla and Sidney Hathcock, Ferris; Robin and Mark McBee, Fort Worth; Lisa and Leland Morris, Oak Point; 11 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Barnes, Keary Barnes, Kelcey Barnes, Calton J. Fogleman, Mark McBee and Leland Morris.
Memorials may be made to M.D. Anderson Hospital, 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030.

Bill Kavanaugh
Services for Bill Kavanaugh, 65, Canton, were held Dec. 8, 2003, at Eubank Memorial Chapel with Betty Perkins officiating. Burial was in Old Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Kavanaugh was born June 27, 1938, in Mansfield, La., and died Dec. 4, 2003, in Tallulah, La.
He was a supervisor and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a resident of Canton for five years, formerly of Ennis.
Survivors include is wife, Sabrina Kavanaugh, Canton; daughters, Lauren Kavanaugh, Canton; Kandee Magness, Ennis; son, Trey Kavanaugh; sisters, Peggy Cloud, Stonewall, La.; Betty Law, Lake Whitney; four grandchildren.

J.B. Bolding
Services for J.B. Bolding, Canton, were held Dec. 8, 2003, at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ted Kiser officiating.
Bolding was born March 6, 1921, in Loco, Okla., and died Dec. 5, 2003, in Canton.
Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-laws, Jerry and Carolyn Bolding; Stan and Marcy Bolding; and Ronny and Sue Bolding; daughter, Charlotte Ballard; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Faye Rapp and Foye Pugh; brothers, Arvel Bolding, Paul Bolding and Percy Bolding, and numerous friends.

Maria Kathrina King
Maria Kathrina King, 74, Seven Points passed away Dec. 4, 2003, at her residence after a brief illness. A visitation and gathering was held Dec. 6, 2003, at Tomlinson Funeral Home in Seven Points.
King was born Jan. 17, 1929, in Frankfurt, Germany to Carl and Katherine Tueful.
She was a housewife and had lived in the Seven Points area for 20 years.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Garland King; children, Marty Gomez, Gulf Port, Miss.; Shirley Davis, Mabank; Robert King, Tampa, Fla.; and Rosie Davis, Seven Points; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Jimmy Wayne McLendon
Services for Jimmy Wayne McLendon, 62, Athens, were held Dec. 6, 2003, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mike Dean officiating. Burial was in Payne Springs Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
McLendon was born June 29, 1941, in Dallas and died Dec. 2, 2003, in Dallas.
He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Athens.
Survivors include his wife, Betty McLendon, Athens; daughters, LaDonna and her husband, Warren Becker, Sachse; Danette and her husband, Chris Dulaney, Wylie; son, Doug McLendon and his wife, Mariann, Mesquite; stepson, Gary Reynolds and his wife, Tammy, Athens; 13 grandchildren; sister, Lynelle Norman, Huntsville, Ala.; Michael Preston, Quinlan.
Pallbearers were Colton Becker, Warren Becker, Aaron Dulaney, Darren Dulaney, Jordan Reynolds and Joshua Reynolds.

Betty Jo Davis
Services for Betty Jo Davis, Mabank, were held Dec. 6, 2003, at Roselawn Chapel with interment at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Roselawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, Seagoville.
Davis was born July 7, 1936, in Emory and died at home with her family by her side after a three year courageous battle with cancer Dec. 4, 2003.
She was preceded in death by her father, Adren A. Arrington Sr.; brothers, Adren A. Arrington Jr.; and Sydney Michael Arrington; and sister, Joyce Robinson.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, William Wyatt Davis; mother, Mary Arrington; sons, Dennis L. Threatt and wife, Sandra L; Freddy J. Threatt and wife, Jo; daughter, Pamela S. Ford and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Wendy, Colby, Shelli, Jason, Hollie, Dan, Christi, John, Amanda, Travis, Angela and Michael; great-grandchildren, Camron, Elise and Jordyn; several nephews and one niece.

Vera Thomas
Services for Vera L. Thomas, 96, Malakoff, were held Dec. 6, 2003, at the Antioch Baptist Church. Burial was in Steen Cemetery under direction of Cain-Brown's Memorial Funeral Home of Malakoff.
Thomas died Dec. 2, 2003.
She was a member of New Hope CME Church of Malakoff where she served as missionary, stewardess and sang in the choir.
Survivors include her daughters, Eula Holman, Fort Worth; Alice Grant and Louise Conner, both of Houston; son, Oscar Thomas, Malakoff; sister, Amanda Tarver, Malakoff; brother, Barron Bass, Fort Washington, Md.; 30 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
