Donald Young
Memorial services for Donald Robert Young, 86, Mabank, were held Jan. 24, 2004, at the American Legion Hall, Gun Barrel City, with Past Commander Post 310 Benny Thomas officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home, Seven Points.
Young was born Feb. 5, 1917, in Hope, N.D., and died Jan. 14, 2004, in Athens. He was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Young.
He was an art director in advertising and was self-employed. He was a member of the American Legion Post 310.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Sue Young, Mabank; children, Donna Jill Shellhorn, Dallas; Candace Harris, Dallas; Larry and Karen Peace, Rusk; Diane Cutchins, Kaufman; two sisters, Gertrude and Lucille; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
William Ray Fuller
Services for William "Bill" Ray Fuller, were held Jan. 17, 2004, at the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Kemp. Interment followed in Cedar Creek Memorial Park. Arrangements were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home in Kaufman.
Fuller was born Nov. 29, 1935, in Blooming Grove to David and Lucreecy Morse Fuller and died Jan. 14, 2004, in Spearsville, La.
He moved to Irving and later to Carrollton in 1966. In 1995 he moved to the Becker Community.
He was a police officer for the City of Carrollton and retired as a Sergeant in 1991.
He was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Kemp.
He was a past Master of Carrollton Masonic Lodge No. 1400 and a 32nd Degree Mason and the Hella Temple.
He married Clara Williams May 21, 1954, in Fort Worth.
Survivors include his wife, Clara, Kemp; son, Billy Ray Fuller and his wife, Sherry, Spearsville, La.; daughter, Nelda Kay Warnek and her husband, Chris, Kemp; brothers, Newman Fuller, Cedar Creek; Danny Fuller, Hawkins; sisters, Faye Collins, Waxahachie; Jean King, Irving; Katherine Mobley, Mineola; grandchildren, Allison, Emily, Joshua, Gordon, Tracy and Doug; great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Winnie Pearl Gaddis
Services for Winnie Pearl Gaddis, 87, Mabank, were held Jan. 19, 2004, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with Randy Colegrove and Milton Spears officiating. Burial was in Elm Grove Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Gaddis was born June 24, 1916, in Dallas and died Jan. 17, 2004, in Mabank. She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandchild, one great-great-grandchild, 11 brothers and sisters.
Previously of Pleasant Grove she lived in Mabank 21 years and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Johnnie B. Gaddis, Mabank; sons, Jimmy and his wife, Becky Gaddis, Mabank; Lanny and his wife, Cindy Gaddis, Mabank; daughters, Wanda Gaddis, Mabank; Virginia Kidwell, Mabank; Jeanette Spears, Seagoville; Brenda and her husband, Tony Hardin, Mabank; Betty and her husband, Robert Nickelson, Mabank; Joyce and her husband, Joe Colegrove, Mineola; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister Louise and her husband, E.M. George Oliver Loader
Services for George Oliver Loader, 66, Gun Barrel City, were held Jan. 20, 2004, at Eubank Memorial Chapel under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Loader was born Aug. 18, 1937, in Junction City, Kan., and died Jan. 15, 2004, in Gun Barrel City.
He was an electronics technician/flight simulator, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the N.R.A., Rita's Club and Walker's Landing.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Loader, Gun Barrel City; sons, Donald Robbins, George Loader, Henry Loader, Jack Loader, Michael Robbins, Richard Robbins, Ronnie Robbins, and daughter, Dora Perez, all of Idaho; brother, Richard and Margie Loader, Gun Barrel City; 35 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mullins was born July 31, 1930, in Tool to William and Iva Jane Mullins and died Jan. 18, 2004, in Athens.
He married Charlene Douglas May 19, 1950, in Dallas and was a manager for Texas Clay Industries. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Malakoff.
He served in the U.S. Navy and in the U.S. Air Force for 13 years.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Charlene Mullins, Malakoff; children and their spouses, Becky and O.B. Ray, Malakoff; Sandy Shirey, Athens; Bill and Tammy Mullins, Malakoff; Charles Mullins, Malakoff; Jay Jay and Kelley Lee, Athens; niece, Berla Caster, Coffeyville, 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Collins was born April 3, 1928, in Mixon and died Jan. 18, 2004, in Kaufman.
She was a clerk.

Joe Faulk
Memorial services for Joe Bailey Faulk, 83, Malakoff, were held Jan. 19, 2004, at the First Baptist Church in Malakoff with Bro. Robert Webb officiating. A private burial was held in Malakoff Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff.
Faulk was born April 15, 1920, in Malakoff to William Levin and Willie Lee Faulk, and died Jan. 17, 2004, at his residence.
He married Helen Joyce Black Aug. 29, 1942, was a lifetime resident of Malakoff and spent most of his life as a rancher.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a charter member of the Malakoff Lions Club, where he served as president, vice president and Tail Twister. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Malakoff, where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He also served as a Justice of the Peace for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Joyce Faulk, Malakoff; sons and spouses, Joe Ladd and Jeannette Faulk, Weatherford; Bill and Mary Lou Faulk, Malakoff; and grandchildren, Teressa Faulk, Jo Anna Faulk, Kim Riley and husband Christopher, and Vanessa Jo Faulk.
Louise Butler
Services for Betty Louise Butler, 76, Tool, were held Jan. 21, 2004, at the First Baptist Church in Tool with Bro. Sonny Ray and Bro. Mike Manning officiating. Private burial was at the Tool Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home in Seven Points.
Butler was born Dec. 30, 1927, in Lorraine, to Cullen Bryant and Edna Palmer, and died Jan. 17, 2004, in Athens.
She and her husband Bob, moved to Tool from Grand Prairie 27 years ago.
She worked as a secretary for Oran White and the City of Tool.
She had been a bank teller in Grand Prairie and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tool.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Bob Butler, Tool; children and their spouses Bobby and Patricia Butler, Tool; Linda and Carl Robinson, Kansas City, Mo.; Kenneth and Gerri Butler, San Angelo; brothers, Henry Lewis Palmer, Quinlan; and Lloyd Palmer, Benton, La.; sisters, Loyce Chasteen, Gardendale, and Emily Ann Ferison, Euless.
Robert Wayne Ferrell
Graveside services for Robert Wayne Ferrell, 65, Kaufman, were held Jan. 22, 2004, at Payne Springs Cemetery, with Ken Maddox officiating, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Maddox was born June 3, 1938, in Dallas, and died Jan. 19, 2004, in Kaufman.
He was a machine operator and had lived in Kaufman for 16 years.
Survivors include his son, Wesley Ferrell, Iredell; daughter, Misty Rakestraw, Aledo; six grandchildren; one great- grandchild; and half-brother, Mike Livingston, Fort Worth.
Dea Alva Barnes
Funeral services for Dea Alva Barnes of Irving, were held January 24, 2004, at First United Methodist Church of Payne Springs.
Interment followed in the Payne Springs Cemetery.
Barnes was born March 15, 1913, and passed away January 18, 2004 in Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Pinkney "Toots" Barnes.
Survivors include nephews Robert Dale Thomas of Carrollton; Marty Thomas of Kapolei, Hawaii and Michael Thomas of Dallas; nieces Donna Power of Irving; Carol Powers of Cedar Hill and Mary Lynn Smith of Crossett, Arkansas; sister-in-law Barbara Thomas Lemmon of Dallas.

Interment followed in Cedar Creek Memorial Park, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home & Cemetery of Mabank.
Williams was born May 4, 1932, in Emhouse, to Austin and Amanda (Richard) Mitchell, and died Jan. 23, 2004, in Tyler.
She resided in Kemp for 25 years and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church of Mabank.
Survivors include her husband, Bethel, Sr.; two sons, Bethel and wife Lou of Seagoville, and Larry and wife Sharon of Mesquite; two daughters, Drena Bryson of Irving and Donna and husband Glynn Neel of Lindale; 10 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry Mitchell of Dallas and Grandon Mitchell Sr. of Gun Barrel City; four sisters, Zava Woods of Mabank, Pat Davis and Barbara Davis, both of Kemp; and Mildred Shotwell of Peeltown.

Byler was born Dec. 18, 1975, in Dallas and died Dec. 26, 2003, in Athens.
He was an electrician and a member of the Seven Points Volunteer Fire Department and was a Rescue Fireman Diver. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
