MRS. HELEN M. CLEVELY
Mrs. Helen M.Clevely passed away on Monday July 28, 2003, in a local hospital.
Mrs.Clevely was born on October 28, 1915 to Frank and Lena Robbins in Carlisle, Indiana. She taught high school in Baytown, Texas before moving to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1967, after her retirement. She was a member of the St. Bartolomew’s Episcopal Church and worked for the American Red Cross for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ed Clevely. She is survived by her nephews, John (Carol) Robbins, Ruel Robbins, Dr. Philip (Rosemary) Robbins, Mike (Jane) Robbins, and her nieces, Ann (Dan) LaBiche and Heide Ross.
Visitation will be held today, August 2, 2003 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Seaside Memorial Park, followed by a funeral service at Seaside Memorial Park Chapel at 1 p.m. Officiant will be the Rev. Ken Parks of St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church.

Samuel Goss, 69, of Mont Belvieu, passed away Friday, August 1, 2003 at Kindred Hospital in Pasadena. Arrangements are pending at Navarre Funeral Home, Baytown, 281-422-8111.
ELNORA ARMSTRONG
Mrs. Elnora Armstrong, good morning March 10, 1918 and good night July 28, 2003.
She was a lifetime resident of Crosby for 85 years. Her church home was Crosby Temple Church of God in Christ. She served as a housewife in her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex Washington and Callie White, husband, Johnny Armstrong, brothers, Sylvester White, Wilford White, Sr., Melvin White, sisters, Lillie Phillips and Ophelia Reed.
She is survived by her daughter, Wilma (Peaches) Armstrong of Houston; grandson’s Timothy Smith of Houston; Micheal McCoy of Crosby; brother and sister-in-law, Ivory (Flora) White of Houston; five great-grandchildren and sisters-in-law, Alline White and Myrtle Armstrong of Crosby.
A wake will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2003 at Walker Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2003 at First Missionary Baptist Church, 11910 Locust, Barrett Station, Pastor Tommy Johnson, Elder Marvin Bennett Pastor of Crosby Temple Church of God in Christ officiating.
Interment will follow at Huffman Cemetery, Huffman, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Albert Smith, Larry Green, Craig Yeldell, Millard Green, Brex Booth and Odell Booth.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wilford White, Jr., Ivory White, Alex Washington, Nelson Armstrong, Timothy L. Smith, Leroy McCoy, Micheal R. McCoy and Micheal R. McCoy, Jr.

ROBERT "BOBBY" NAIVAR
Robert “Bobby” Naivar, 67, went to be with the Lord on July 27, 2003.
Born in Crosby, the son of William Henry and Frances Naivar. Robert worked as a pipefitter for Local Union #211 for over 20 years. Then Robert and Claude Kristinek became owners of C&B Liquor Store for 15 years. He enjoyed his last three years of retirement spending time with his friends and family. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities and made frequent trips to his hunting lease where he was known as “Pop Bob.” He will be missed by family and friends tremendously. Robert was a member of the American Legion Post #658 Crosby, TX for 27 years.
Robert is predeceased by his parents.
He is survived by two sons, Kyle James Naivar and wife Nicole Naivar of Mont Belvieu; Ron Edward Naivar of Caldwell; one daughter, Laura Anne Naivar of Spring; two brothers, William Joseph Naivar and wife Joyce of Cleveland, Georgia; Lygie Edward Naivar of La Porte; three grandchildren, James Patrick Naivar and Kimberlin Blair Naivar of Mont Belvieu; William Robert Naivar of Caldwell; two nephews and three nieces.
Pallbearers will be Bill Kratky, Jody Kratky, Ronnie Clamon, Claude Kristinek, Albert Lee Kratky and Vernon Eilers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sonny Barta and Member of the Hortense Hunting Club.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, July 31, 2003 at Sterling White Chapel.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2003 at Sterling White Chapel.
Burial will follow at White Cemetery.

FRANCES CARAWAY PARKER
Frances Caraway Parker, 83, was born on August 19, 1919 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Ruby Florence Caraway and William Franklin Caraway. Frances passed away, Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at Green Acres Nursing Home.
Frances was Valedictorian of Neches High School, class of 1936. She graduated from Marshall Jr. College in 1938 with a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas State College for Women (now TWU) in Denton, TX at the age of 20. Frances went to work for Humble Oil and Refining Co. in the downtown Houston office immediately after graduation in 1940. She married R.L. Parker on July 30, 1946.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.L. Parker and brother, David Ellis Caraway.
She is survived by two children, Jennifer Louise Gore and Robert L. Parker, Jr., sister, Martha Louise Boyett-Pipkin, son-in-law, Harold W. Gore, three grandchildren, Adam Hoskins, Jennifer K. Gore, Jason A. Gore, niece, Linda Boyett McDonald and nephews, Dr. Randall Boyett, Michael Boyett, Stephen Boyett, Anthony Wayne Caraway, numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Parker was a Sunday school teacher at Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church for 35 years and was an active member since 1955. She and her late husband were very active in the Order of the Eastern Star and held numerous offices including Worthy Matron and Patron at Cedar Bayou Chapter #11. She and her late husband were also members of the Advisory Board for the Cedar Bayou Rainbow Assembly for many years. She was an active member and held offices in the Social Order of The Beauceants and Amaranth and held several grand appointments in the Order of The Eastern Star at the State level.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2003 at Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Rd., Baytown.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2003 at Cedar Bayou Methodist Church, 2714 Ferry Rd., Baytown with Rev. Tommy Lyles officiating.
Interment will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church or to Sterling Municipal Library.

ROBERT C. BARNETT
R.C. Barnett, 76, of Baytown, went to eternal rest on July 27, 2003 after a long illness.
Born to Robert and Elgie Barnett, October 23, 1926. Served in the Navy during WW II. On April 19, 1947 he married the love of his life, Bobbie Barnett, who never left his side during his illness. R.C. was a member of the Missouri St. Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by parents, sisters, Bonnie and Robbie Dee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Bobbie, sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Pam Barnett of New Jersey, Ronald and Sue Barnett of Massachusetts, Paul and Patti Barnett of Baytown; daughters and son-in-laws, Claudia and John Mills of New Hersey; Cathy and Bill VanPelt of Joshua, Texas; Connie and Pete Lennek of Baytown; grandchildren, Robert, Bridget, Joanna, Melissa, Justin, Alyson, Billy, Janet, Cara, Shane, Stefanie, Codie, Caitlin, Cullen, Caleb, great-grandchildren, Mark, Jessica, Dillon, Alexis, Skylar, Chase, Justin, Brianna, many nieces, nephews, cousins, brother and sisters-in-law, and many friends also survive him.
The family would like to thank all the caring people from Heartland Hospice who have helped us through a difficult time.

BERNICE PERKINS
Bernice Perkins, 79, of Baytown, passed away, July 28, 2003 at Triumph Hospital.
Bernice was born February 18, 1924 in Alexandria, La. She lived in Baytown for over 50 years. She was a housekeeper/nanny.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Perkins, daughter, Mary Perkins Bourgeois, three sisters and five brothers.
She is survived by her brother, Otis Fisher, sister, Alberta Darby, seven grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
A wake will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2003 at Frazier Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2003 at Fellowship Community Baptist Church, 1700 Danubina, Baytown with Pastor Steven Richard officiating.
Interment will follow at S.P.J.S.T. Cemetery, Crosby.
