Services for Patsy Jane Smith, 53, Gun Barrel City, were held June 20, 2003, at Eubank Memorial Chapel, Mabank, with the Rev. Thomas Potter officiating.
Interment was in Kemp Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Smith was born Aug. 5, 1949, in Waco, and died June 18, 2003, in Gun Barrel City.
She was a 1967 graduate of Kemp High School, and received her master's degree at East Texas State University. She was an educator for more than 30 years in area schools.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Smith, Gun Barrel City; daughters, Chelsea Capehart and husband Jeff, Mabank; Shonda Tindall and husband Troy, Mabank; three grandchildren, Jace Capehart, Grant Capehart and Colby Tindall; parents, James and Myrtle (McDonald) Page, Kemp; sisters, Peggy Page, Austin; and Lucy Page, Kemp.

Andres Matamoros
Services for Andres matamoros, 66, Canton, were held June 23, 2003, at Eubank Memorial Chapel with Bro. Patrick Satery officiating.
Interment was in Cedar Creek Memorial Park in Mabank, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Matamoros was born Dec. 31, 1936, in Mexico and died June 20, 2003, in Tyler.
He was a bus driver.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Matamoros, Canton; daughter, Leslie and Shoukat Ali Bhangar, Mabank; son, Andres Matamoros Jr., Mabank; sisters, Anita Lee, El Paso; Sarah Rayos, El Paso; brother, Mario Matamoros, El Paso; mother, Ignacia Salgado Matamoros, El Paso; niece, Naomi Oaxaca, El Paso; and four grandchildren.

Delma Harrell
Services for Delma Harrell, 87, of Silsbee, formerly of Big Spring, were held June 23, 2003, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Derrick Looney, pastor of First Baptist Church of Ackerly, officiating. Interment followed at Trinity Memorial Park.
Arrangements were under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
Harrell was born Sept. 15, 1915, in Princeton and died June 18, 2003, in a Silsbee nursing home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Jack" Harrell March 30, 2000.
She was a homemaker and attended the Baptist church.
Survivors include her son, Don Harrell, Kemp; daughters, Audry Fannin, Village Mills; Martha Herrick, Pueblo, Colo.; sisters, Mae Nell Barclay, Francis Jones, both of Brownwood; and Murlene Williams, Ackerly; brother, Jack Cave, Ackerly; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Eleanor Langeloh
A memorial service for Eleanor Langeloh, 85, Kemp, was held June 21, 2003, at St. James Episcopal Church, Kemp, with the Rev. Jerry Morriss officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Langeloh was born July 2, 1917, in West Chicago, Ill., to Otto and Wilhelmina (Droegemueller) Kerner, and died June 18, 2003, in Kemp.
She was a long-time member of the Cedar Creek Country Club, and loved to play golf.
Survivors include her sons, Arthur W. Langeloh III, Kemp; Larry Langeloh, Richardson; Greg Langeloh, Crandall; grandson, Bradley James Langeloh; nieces, nephews and other family members and a host of friends. She also leaves behind her collie dog, Bonnie.
Memorials may be made to Cedar Creek Country Club building fund, 13392 Country Club Drive, Kemp, TX 75143, or to St. James Episcopal Church, 10717 CR 4022, Kemp, TX 75143.

Charlotte Etheridge
Services for Charlotte Ann James Young Etheridge, 62, Dallas, were held June 21, 2003, at the Anderson Clayton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Kemp with the Rev. Jimmy Etheridge officiating.
Interment followed in Kemp Cemetery under the direction of Anderson Clayton Brothers Funeral Home of Kemp.
Etheridge was born Dec. 4, 1940, in Jefferson County, Ala., to the late Robert John and Mary Green James, and died June 17, 2003 in Mesquite.
She had lived in Dallas for the past 20 years and was active in CAM International Missionary and the Bible Christian Union.
She was a member of the Iglesia Biblica la Promesa in Dallas and was raised in the Brooklane Baptist Church of Hueytown, Ala.
She and David Etheridge married Dec. 21, 1962, in Hueytown, Ala.
Survivors include her husband, David Etheridge, Dallas; son, Carl David Etheridge, Dallas; daughter, Twyla Estes, Milwaukie, Ore.; grandchildren, Gary Estes, Washington State; and Christina Etheridge, Carrollton; sister, Sarah Josephine Parnell, Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers, James Young, San Pablo, Calif.; and R.W. Young, Sarasota, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.

Floy Marie Rand
Services for Floy Marie (Gunter) Rand, 79, were held July 5, 2003, at the First Baptist Church of Mabank, with Dr. James Harms officiating, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Rand was born Oct. 28, 1923, in Van Zandt County, to the late James and Omie Gunter. and died July 3, 2003, in an Athens hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Paul Rand in 1991; siblings, twin brother, Coy Lee Gunter, Velma (Swindell) Benham, Lois Marks, and L.B. Gunter. She had recently lost a special friend, Ed Crow.
She was a longstanding active member of the Friendship Sunday School class and Triple L Club of First Baptist Church of Mabank.
After retiring from the Bank of Mabank, she enjoyed playing Skip-Bo, dominoes and solving crossword puzzles. Her yard was a special source of pleasure and she enjoyed family and many good friends.
Survivors include her children, Paulette Blackman, Mabank; Tommy Rand and special friend Leslie Tull, Austin; B.T. Rand, Prairieville; granddaughters and spouses, Terry Ann and Ricky Hunsaker; Tina Hall; Cindy and Cody Clayburn; Sandy and Tommy Chasteen; and Jennifer and Bennie Glenn; 12 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Colleen Gunter, Houston; and Hazel Wells, Dallas; many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Tommy Chasteen, Cody Clayburn, Bennie Glenn, Ricky, Kirk, Cody and Dillon Hunsaker.

John M. Durst
John M. Durst, 28, Mabank, died July 6, 2003 in Mabank.
No services scheduled at this time.
Durst was born Dec. 12, 1974, in Dallas.
He was a laborer.
Survivors include his father, Roy Glenn Durst, Sr., Wylie; mother, Deborah Alexander, Quinlan; and brother, Roy Glenn Durst, Jr., Quinlan.

Chris White
Services for Chris White, 26, Gun Barrel City, were held July 9, 2003, at St. Jude Catholic Church with Msgr. John Brennan officiating.
Burial followed at Cedar Creek Memorial Park, Mabank, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
White was born April 1, 1977, in Dallas, and died July 6, 2003, in Gun Barrel City.
He was a city code enforcement officer and was a member of the Gun Barrel City Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Shannon White, Gun Barrel City; children, Chance Kelsey and Hannah, Gun Barrel City; brother, Jeff White, Lewisville; parents, Terry and Corliss White, Rockwall; grandparent, Opal Elder, Dallas; mother-in-law, Sue Jones, Mabank; and brother-in-law, Richard Thomas, Mabank.
Pallbearers were Rodney Bevill, James Gillam, Butch Grant, Michael Grant, Jason Raney and Don Stracener.

Clara Reeves
Graveside services for Clara Borden Reeves, 88, Canton, were held July 6, 2003, at LaRue Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Mills officiating under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.
Reeves was born Nov. 9, 1914, in Athens to the late John W. and Susan Frye Gracey, and died July 4, 2003, in Athens. She was preceded in death by children, Charlie Gracey and Juanita Graham, two brothers and two sisters.
She grew up in the LaRue area and moved to Athens during World War II. In 1957, she moved to Malakoff and then to Canton 10 years ago.
Survivors include her husband, Arlot "A.G." Reeves, Canton; sons, Bobby Reeves, Dallas; and Jack Reeves, Mabank; daughters, Wanda McKinney, Canton; and Raetta Giles, Chandler; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Kenneth Whiteley, Sr.
Services of remembrance were held for Kenneth Wayne Whiteley Sr., 54, Kemp, July 7, 2003, at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kemp, with the Rev. D.G. Council and Bryant Whiteley officiating. Interment followed at the Shiloh Cemetery in Kaufman County, near Kemp.
Whiteley was born June 21, 1949, in Kaufman County to Leonard E. and Willodene F. (Roberts) Whiteley, and died July 4, 2003, at his residence in Kemp. He was preceded in death by his mother; son, Alvin Ray Whiteley; brother, Howard Whiteley; and granddaughter, Taylor Reann Angel Whiteley.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam, and was a member of VFW Post 4376 in Seven Points.
Survivors include his sons, Kenneth Whiteley Jr., Golden, Leonard Whiteley and Jason Whiteley, both of Kemp; daughter, Paula Berkebile, Kemp; 10 grandchildren; father, Leonard E. Whiteley, Kemp; brothers, Melvin Whiteley, Mesquite; Billy Whiteley, Vivian, La.; and Cecil Whiteley, Miss.; sister, Luedene Radican, Kemp; and numerous relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Bryant Whiteley, Charlie Henderson, James Ernest Whiteley, Tommy Henderson and Ed Boy Henderson.

Dorothy Jean Kennedy
Services for Dorothy Jean Kennedy, 80, Seven Points, were held July 5, 2003, at Baker Cemetery. Interment followed under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Kennedy was born June 4, 1923, in Hunt County and died July 3, 2003, in Seven Points. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford E. Hamilton and a grandchild, Angela Michele Frisbie.
She was a professional photographer and had been employed by Olin Mills.
Survivors include her husband, Norman Kennedy, Seven Points; daughter, Cheryl and husband, Gordon Brady, Tool; sister, Mary Fincannon, Grand Saline; brother, Frank C. Hamilton, Fort Worth; one grandchild and two great grandchildren.

Louanne Dexter
Memorial services for Louanne James Dexter, will be held on the beach in Port Huron, Mich., where she spent the happiest times of her childhood. Her ashes will be scattered over Lake Huron per her request. Arrangements were under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Dexter was born Feb. 26, 1925, to publisher Albert Oliver James and Lovie Madeline Story in East Detroit, Mich., and died July 15, 2003, in East Texas Medical Center, Athens.
She was preceded in death by husbands Harry Meservy, Harry Chernesky and Michael Laracca; son, Larry Dean Meservy.
She was a resident of the Mabank Nursing Home.
She worked as a newspaper reporter in Detroit, Mich., a model, a mermaid in Florida, and understudy to Esther Williams and Ann Blythe. She did their underwater scenes. Her most famous movie was "Mr. Peabody and the Mermaid."
While working for Donnelley Advertising she coined the famous phrase "Let your fingers do the walking through the yellow pages."
Survivors are, sons, Willard Albert Meservy, Gun Barrel City; and Bruce Wayne Chernesky, Elkton, Md.; daughters, Stella Ann Wyshock, Gun Barrel City; and Christine Chernesky, Jonesboro, ME; brothers, Russell James, Dunnellon, Fla.; Albert James, Toms River, N.J.; and Robert James, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.
