Services for Delphin Thompson, 69, Dallas, were held Jan. 23,2003, in the Kaufman Cemetery with Rev. D.G. Council officiating.
Interment followed under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. of Kaufman.
Thompson was born July 16, 1933, in Kaufman County to the late John Frank and Edna Mae (Massengale) Thompson and died Jan. 20, 2003 in Dallas.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea.
Survivors include his brothers, Vernon Thompson and his wife, Kelcie, Enchanted Oaks; and Guy Shaw Thompson and his wife, Wanda, Arlington; four nephews; and one niece; and numerous other relatives and friends.
June Betsy Culver
Services for June Betsy Culver, 80, Van, were held Feb. 2, 2003, at New Life Fellowship Church, Mesquite, with Pastor David Butler officiating.
Burial was in Grove Hill Cemetery, Dallas under the direction of Hilliard Funeral Home of Van.
Culver was born May 27, 1922, in Dallas to Hershel and Ethel Crandall Fain, and died Jan. 30 in a Tyler hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Culver, and brothers, Robert Leon Culver and Alan Culver.
She was a homemaker and member of New Life Fellowship Church.
Previously of Dallas, she had lived in Ben Wheeler and Van for one year.
Survivors include her sons, Charles Culver, Kemp; and Roland Culver, Mesquite; daughters, Ann Burgess, Wanda Boyer, both of Dallas; and Mary Black, Ben Wheeler; brother, Clifford Fain, Dallas; sisters, Doris Nelson, Gun Barrel City; and Violet Tuknett, Palestine; 20 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Wayne Tidmore
Services for Wayne Tidmore, 61, Trinidad, were held Feb. 1, 2003 at First Baptist Church of Trinidad with Brothers Rick Mangus and Floyd Loven officiating.
Burial was in Trinidad Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home, Malakoff.
Tidmore was born March 3, 1941, in Henderson County to the late Julius and Eva Anders Tidmore, and died Jan. 30, 2003, in Tyler.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Tidmore and Chandler Tidmore.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a truck driver for Red Simpson and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Bradley Tidmore, Trinidad; daughters, Lori Stewart, Trinidad; and Jennifer Denis, Malakoff; brothers, Jerry Tidmore, Duncanville and Tommy Tidmore, Dallas and four grandchildren.
John Bauerle
Services for John "Jack" Bauerle, 88, Gun Barrel City, were held at Edgewood Cemetery Feb. 8, 2003, with the Rev. Byron Jones officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Bauerle was born Aug. 22, 1914, in Dallas and died Feb. 4, 2003, in Athens.
He was an electrician and veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Bauerle, Mabank; sons, Cliff and Stacey Bauerle, Bedford; Don Bauerle, Saginaw; Billy Wayne Valley, Ovilla; Larry and Tammy Valley, Lancaster; Mike and Julie Valley, Lewisville; daughters, Carolyn and Johnnie Harrison, Paradise; Joyce and Lonnie Kennedy, Garland; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; many other family member and a host of friends.
Elmer Paul Rozelle
Services for Elmer Paul Rozelle, 71, Pottsboro, were held Feb. 3, 2003 at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kemp, with Rev. D.G. Council officiating. Interment followed at Kemp Cemetery, under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros Funeral Home.
Rozelle was born April 10, 1931, in Pauls Valley, Okla., to Elmer Gibson and Emma Iola (Pyle) Rozelle, and died Jan. 31, 2003 in Pottsboro. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Varonda Charlene Rozelle; stepson, Paul Dean McCormack; and seven brothers and sisters.
He married Marietta Morris Oct. 26, 1951, in Terrell and Jorean Fitch Feb. 5, 1973, in Dallas. He was a drywall finisher in the construction business.
Survivors include sons, Twanda Paul Rozelle and wife, Margie, Achille, Okla.; Rickey Rozelle, Whitesboro; daughters, Brenda Hoglan, Snow, Okla.; Debra Ford, Dallas; brother, Marvin Rozelle, Kemp; sisters, Mildred Fuller, Farmington, N.M.; Beulah Marie Smith, Kemp; Ester McGahan, Kemp; 33 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; extended family, Tommy McCormack, Joann Palmer, Belinda Worthington, Judy Davidson, Connie Ford; special friend, Bobbie Baker, Pottsboro, with whom he shared the last 14 years; and her children, Mitchell, Dennis, Torey and Jeff Baker, Deborah Payne and Sonja Stanley.
Thelma Caywood Baldwin
Services for Thelma Caywood Baldwin, 68, Seven Points, were held Feb. 7, 2003 at Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ed Schauer officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Baldwin was born Sept. 14, 1934, in Oklahoma City, Okla., and died Feb. 4, 2003, in Seven Points.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Darwin Gerald Baldwin, Seven Points; sons, Michael L. Baldwin, Seven Points; Darwin G. Baldwin, Jr., Seven Points; daughter, Theda Louise Jones, Elm Grove Community; grandchildren, Michael Lee Baldwin II, Mechelle Mixson, Morgan Denise Baldwin, Jeremy Keith Baldwin, Trow Wayne Baker, Sherry Michelle Esker, Matthew Earl Baker and six great grandchildren.

James Ferguson Blakeney
Services for James ""Jim" Ferguson Blakeney, 84, Murchison, were held Feb. 15, 2003, at First Baptist Church Malakoff, with Bros. Robert Webb and Wayne Frazier officiating. Burial was in Malakoff Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Malakoff.
Blakeney was born July 3, 1918, in Malakoff, to the late Ernest R. and Ruby C. Wiggins Blakeney, and died Feb. 12, 2003, in Tyler. He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Malakoff and was a bus driver for Continental Trailways for 32 years. He was a member of the Malakoff Lions Club, Masonic Lodge No. 957, and a First Thursday Breakfast Club. He was County Commissioner for Precinct No. 1 for 16 years and was named man of the year. He had lived in this area all of his life.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ann Blakeney, Murchison; children, Jimmy Blakeney, Malakoff; Jerry and Diana Blakeney, Rowlett; Judy Presley, Dallas; and Patsy and James Lewis, Brownsboro; brothers, Johnny Blakeney, Dallas; Wayne Blakeney, Duncanville; and Huey Blakeney, Lott; and one sister, Laverne Satterwhite, Mabank; eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the First Thursday Breakfast Club and member of the First Baptist Church Sunday School Class.
Stan McDowell
Graveside services for Stan McDowell, 42, Kemp, were held Feb. 13, 2003, in Baker Cemetery, Tolosa, with Bro. James Renfro, Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points.
McDowell was born Sept. 21, 1960, in Dallas, and died Feb. 10, 2003, in Payne Springs.
He was self employed as a welder in construction and was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Kim McDowell, Kemp; and son Mavrick McDowell, Kemp; daughter, Jessica McDowell, Kemp; numerous aunts and uncles.
Honorary pallbearers were Steve Marszalek, Roy Friemel, Lonnie Elliott and Tim Kirby.
Velmer Irene Sawyer
Services for Rev. Velmer Irene Sawyer, 77, Gun Barrel City, will be held Feb. 17, 2003, at Payne Springs Assembly of God Church in Payne Springs with the Revs. Mark Vaughn, William Vickery and Wayne Brashear officiating. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Laurel land Memorial Park in Dallas under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Sawyer was born Dec. 24, 1925, in Ashley County, Ark., to the late Jesse L. and Johnnie L. (Perdue) Sawyer, and died Feb. 12, 2003, in Tyler. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jerlene Sawyer; brothers, Leonard and Clinton "Tom" Sawyer.
Previously a resident of Dallas for 40 years, she moved to Cedar Creek Lake area in 1980 and was a member of the Payne Springs Assembly of God Church. She was an ordained minister by the Assemblies of God Churches. She served as a missionary for the Church in Cuba, Jamaica and Guyana. Her greatest pleasure in life was to worship and serve the Lord.
Survivors include her brothers, Ervin Sawyer and wife, Earline, Red Oak; Alvin "Al" Sawyer, Gun Barrel City; sister, Lee Tucker and husband, Lloyd, Mabank; sisters-in-law, Lou Sawyer, Point; and Dorothy Sawyer; nieces, nephews, her little dog "Chico" and other family m embers and a host of friends.
Family will receive friends Feb. 16, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Jimmy L. Potter
Graveside services for Jimmy L. Potter, 62, Mabank, were held Feb. 13, 2003, at Cedar Creek Memorial Park, Mabank, with the Rev. Jimmy Perry officiating, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Potter was born July 19, 1940, in Wolf City, to Eddie and Lillian Juanita (Cotton) Potter and died Feb. 10, 2003, in Athens.
Previously of Duncanville, he had lived in Mabank for eight months and was a member of the Everlasting Baptist Church in Dallas. He retired from Dallas Independent School District in 2001.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Potter, Mabank; sons, Jimmy Dale Potter, Dallas; Johnathan Loyd Potter, Mabank; daughters, Patsy Hathcock, Lancaster; Yvonna Knight and husband, Gerald, Irving; Crystal Ann Potter, Mabank; seven grandchildren; sisters, Sue Shipp, Glen Heights; Wanda Faye Prior, Duncanville; Brenda Jo Watson and husband, Ed, Mabank; other family members and a host of friends.

Michael Ray Wycough
Services for Michael Ray "Shorty" Wycough, 55, Mabank, were held Feb. 14, 2003, in the Eubank Memorial Chapel, Mabank, with the Rev. Byron Jones officiating. Burial was in Haven of Memories Cemetery, Canton, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Wycough was born April 25, 1947, in Dallas and died Feb. 11, 2003, in Dallas.
He was in sheet rock construction and was a veteran of the Marine Corps. Formerly of Arlington he had lived in Mabank for 11 years.

Alfreda Taylor
Graveside services for Alfreda Taylor, 82, Trinidad, were held at Malakoff Cemetery, Malakoff, with Bro. Ron Huckabee officiating. Burial was under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Malakoff.
Taylor was born Jan. 14, 1920 in Lubbock County, and died Jan. 13, 2003, in Malakoff. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Winkles and Ida Dell Taylor.
She lived in Paramount, Calif. before Trinidad. She was a housewife and Baptist by faith.
Survivors include sons, Eddie Taylor and wife, Aurora, Trinidad; Les Taylor and wife, Ann, Ariz.; Clint Taylor and wife, Janita, Oregon; step-daughter, Betty Rice, Houston; and brother, Edgar Winkles, Plains; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Hamilton was born Dec. 21, 1927, in Wills Point, and died Jan. 13, 2003, in Tyler.
He was a rancher and veteran of the U.S. Army.
