Jones was born July 8, 1952, in Dallas and passed away Feb. 17, 2003, in Shreveport, La.
He was a master electrician.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Jones, Mabank; father, Alfred Jones, Mabank; daughters, Shelly Gray, Mabank; Shannon Ingle, McKinney; son, James Larry Jones Jr., Keller; brothers, Gary Glenn Jones, Mesquite; Terry Lynn Jones, Mabank; eight grandchildren.
Thomas Ray Hamilton
Services for Thomas Ray Hamilton, 45, Kemp, were held Feb. 20, 2003, at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Rosenquist officiating.
Interment followed at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Scurry, under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kemp.
Hamilton was born Nov. 27, 1957, in Kaufman and died Feb. 16, 2003, at his home near Kemp.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Hamilton, and a brother, Tony Cox.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie Hamilton, Kemp; son, Jonathan Hamilton, Kemp; daughter, Jennifer Raean Hamilton, Kemp, and her fiancee, Bryan Kirby, Wills Point; granddaughter, Libby Hamilton, Kemp; mother, Ella Marie (Tucker) Hamilton, Kemp; father, Roy Cox, Houston; brothers, Clint Hamilton, Tool; Eugene Hamilton and Dewayne Hamilton, both of Kemp; sisters, Terry Ferguson and husband , Tom, Spring; and Tina Ethridge and husband, Tom, Lawrenceville, Ga.; his special girls, Tonya Teague and Tabitha Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Matt Teague, Carroll Corker, Jeff Ingram, Shawn Ingram, Monty Freeman and David Jones.
Nephews and great nephews served as honorary pallbearers.
Buddy Lee Stroud
Services for Buddy Lee Stroud, Kaufman, were held Feb. 22, 2003, at the Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Lamb officiating.
Interment followed in Wilson Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Stroud was born Nov. 17, 1925, in Dallas to Gregory Maxwell Lievsay and Edith Mae Stewart, and passed away Feb. 18, 2003, in Kaufman.
He entered the U.S. Navy during World War II and moved back to Dallas after his service. On June 19, 1948, he married Cassie Ward in Kaufman.
In 1989 he moved back to Kaufman and retired in 1987 from Paragon Industry in Mesquite after thirty-five years service.
Survivors include his wife, Cassie Stroud, Kaufman; brother, Kyle Stroud, Gun Barrel City; sister, Lola Roland, Granbury; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Loryne Williams Serriere
Services for Loryne W. Serriere, Gun Barrel City, were held, Feb. 20, 2003, in the Eubank Memorial Chapel, Mabank, with Rev. Byron Jones officiating.
Interment was Feb. 21, 2003, in Blackwell Cemetery, Blackwell, Okla. with Rev. Rick Longcrier officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Serrier was born July 31, 1913, in Konawa, Okla., to Dr. Jon T. and Ethel Williams, and died Feb. 17, 2003.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ed Serriere; mother and father; baby sister; and beloved brother, Dr. Jon T. Williams, Jr.
Blackwell, Okla. was the town she grew up in, married and raised her family.
She was a housewife and mother and helped her husband farm from Oklahoma to Colorado and Kansas.
She loved to cook and can vegetables they had grown. She enjoyed fishing and liked to crochet or hook rugs.
Survivors include daughters, Ethel J. Hagin and son-in-law, Dwayne Hagin, Gun Barrel City; and Carol Jean Thompson, Tulsa, Okla.; granddaughter, Arleen Garrison, New York; two great-grandsons, Ben and Matt Garrison, Tulsa, Okla.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 137 E Bar-H Dr., Gun Barrel City, TX 75147 for the new family life center.
Helen Martin Able
Services for Helen Martin Able, 81, Kemp, were held Feb. 27, 2003, at First Baptist Church of Tool, with the Rev. Shawn Bailey officiating.
Interment followed in Emerald Hills Memorial Park, Kennedale, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Able was born July 29, 1921, in Columbia, Tenn., and died Feb. 24, 2003, in Athens.
She was a homemaker and married 63 years.
She owned and operated a ceramic shop.
She made hundreds of friends and loved them all as family.
Survivors include her husband, Nevel Able, Kemp; son, Gary Able, Tool; daughter, Regina and husband, Charles Leck, Fort Worth; grandchildren, Jami Murray, Arlington; and Jodi White, England; four great grandchildren, other family members and a host of friends.
Nancy Ann Glenn
Services of remembrance were held for Nancy Ann Glenn, 46, Seven Points at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kemp, with Rev. Bob Parry officiating.
Interment followed at Ware Cemetery in Kaufman County under the direction of Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home, Kemp.
Glenn was born Sept. 4, 1956, in Dallas to O.D. and Billie Jean (Richards) Payne, and died Feb. 19, 2003, in Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her mother, February 24, 2000, and a brother, Billie Payne, May 28, 2001.
She married Ed Glenn in Waco Dec. 21, 1991. They lived in Seven Points the last six years.
She was a registered nurse with Visiting Nurse Association Homecare and was a member of Cedar Creek Bible Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Glenn, Seven Points; daughter, Sarah Glenn, Seven Points; son, Chandler Glenn, Seven Points; father, O.D. Payne, Seven Points; brother, Bobby Payne, Dallas; sisters, Kay Mayor and Jan Harrison, both of Farmers Branch; mother-in-law, Corene Glenn, Waco; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Mary Louise Davidson Asmussen
Celebration Mass was held for Mary Louise Davidson Asmussen, 85, Dallas, Tuesday, February 25, 2003, at Calvary Hill Cemetery Chapel under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Interment followed in Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas.
Asmussen was born September 3, 1917, in San Benito to General Louis Scott and Ottilia Bohny Davidson, and passed away February 22, 2003, in Athens.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert Y. Asmussen; son, David Scott Asmussen; daughter, Susan Lynn Moore and husband, Barry.
She was a homemaker and member of Saint Monica Catholic Church and a long standing Democratic Precinct Chairman and Election Judge.
Survivors include her son, Bob Asmussen and his wife, Elaine, Athens; daughter, Joan Baird and her husband, Jim, Dallas; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Darrin Asmussen, Casey Mochman, Barry Moore, Jimmy Baird, Mark Gunn, Doug Learmont and Charlie Depner.
Mari 'Mai' Uhry
Services for Mari "Mai" Uhry, 77, Tyler, were held at Elm Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Howard officiating, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Uhry was born July 6, 1925, in Dallas and passed away February 20, 2003, in Tyler.
She was an office manager.
Survivors include her son, Homer and his wife, Madeline Parker, Flint; half-sisters, Brenda Lyons, Dallas; Peggy Tanner, Owenboro, Ky.; granddaughter, Leslie Luce, Athens; grandson, Dean Parker, Mansfield; and great granddaughter, Taylor Parker, Mansfield.

Interment followed at King Cemetery in Henderson County, near Kemp.
O'Pry was born August 3, 1913, in Limestone County and passed away Saturday, February 22, 2003, in Kemp.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jo O'Pry, September 17, 1999, his parents, and a son, Garland Ray O'Pry.
Survivors include sons, Robert O'Pry, Larry O'Pry and Irvin O'Pry; daughters, Betty Tumlinson, Darlene Mendez, Marlene Mendez, and Jarlene O'Pry; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sister, Estelle Vickery; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Oleta Thomison

Interment was in Payne Springs Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Thomison was born March 1, 1938, in Atoka, Okla., to Garner and Annie (Dotson) Calhoun, and died Feb. 2, 2003, in Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Paul Calhoun.

Clarence Joseph Tetzlaff
Graveside services for Clarence Joseph Tetzlaff, 92, Irving, formerly of Wisconsin, were held Feb. 4, 2003, at King Cemetery in Aley with Father Joe Kallookalam, Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points.
Tetzlaff was born Sept. 2, 1910, in Wausau, Wisc., and died Feb. 1, 2003, in Irving.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
He was retired from Security and was a Catholic.
Survivors include his son, Gerlad Tetzlaff, Irving; niece, Joan Callahan, Wasau, Wisc. grand daughter, Veronica Hanger, Grapevine.
Gale Ann Bauch
Services for Gale Ann Bauch, 47, Murchison, were held Feb. 2, 2003, at Edom United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jesse Brannen officiating under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.
Bauch was born April 14, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Lawrence Sr. and Shirley Mae Simpson Littleton Buttery, and died Jan. 30, 2003, in Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her father and uncles, J.B. Simpson and Elmer Guy.
She lived in the East Texas area for 25 years and attended Edom United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Steven Carroll, Manhattan, Kan.; daughters, Ronda Carroll, Murchison; and Crystal Carroll, Eustace; ;m other and stepfather, Shirley and Jerry Littleton, Murchison; brothers, Lawrence Buttery Jr.,; Timothy Buttery; and Ricky Buttery; and seven grandchildren.
George DeShazo
Services for George DeShazo, 65, Mabank, were held Feb. 5, 2003, at Oak Grove Baptist Church of Canton with the Rev. Norman Wallace officiating.
Burial was in Oakland Memorial Park, Terrell under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.
DeShazo was born Dec. 16, 1937, in Emory to John Walker and Mary Elizabeth Brown DeShazo, and died Jan. 31, 2003, at his residence.
He was a Christian and an automotive mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva DeShazo, Mabank; sons, Andy DeShazo, Athens; Joel DeShazo, Kaufman; ;and Mike DeShazo, Canton; daughters, Laura French, Heath; and Molly Vann, Terrell; brothers, Tom DeShazo, Mabank; and John DeShazo, Terrell; sister, Shirley Ferris, Edgewood; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and other relatives.
