MARGARET CARROLL BURRELL
Margaret Carroll Burrell, 76, affectionately known as Peggy, died at her home, 160 Woodridge Drive, Spartanburg, SC, on January 24, 2003.
A native of Parkersburg, WV, she lived for many years in Baytown and Houston; she was a daughter of the late George Bernard and Margaret Ann Tucker Carroll and was the wife of William A. Burrell of the home. She was a member of The Catholic Church of Jesus, Our Risen Savior.
Also surviving are two daughters, Carol Lemmon of Cedar Hills and Jane King of The Woodlands; two sons, George Burrell of The Woodlands and Thomas Burrell of Alvarado; a sister, Pat DeMars of California; 2 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2003, at Forest Park Cemetery, The Woodlands.

LETA DAVIDSON WARNER
Leta Davidson Warner, 63, of Channelview, passed away, Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, in Nacogdoches.
Leta was born Sept. 7, 1939, in Beaumont, Texas and lived in the Baytown, Channelview and Humble area her entire life. She was a bookkeeper at Citizens Bank and Channelview Bank.
Leta was a member of the Robert E. Lee graduating class of 1957 and on the reunion committee.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen M. Dewitt, and her grandmother Leta McKay.
She is survived by her husband, John D. Warner of Channelview; daughters and son-in-law, Jo Ann Fenley of Baytown; Jana and husband Robert Jones of Liberty; grandson, Daniel Spiers of Union Grove, Texas; step-children, John Warner, Jr., Dannette McGowan, Karen Schwind, Kathy Thedford; uncle, Dr. Vernon McKay, and cousins that she considered as brothers and sisters, Anita Blumberg, Dr. Jim McKay, Roy McKay, and Marilynn Ormson; grand-dog, Frio, and loving cat, Sassy.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today, Jan. 27, 2003, at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Powell of Dell Dale Ave. Baptist Church officiating.
Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association and The American Diabetes Association.

THURMAN WILLIAMS
Thurman Williams, 62, of Old River, died Sunday, January 26, 2003 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Sterling Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with Rev. Herschel Williams officiating and burial following at Tilton Cemetery in Old River. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, (936)258-2678.
Thurman was born Sept. 23, 1940 in Mont Belvieu to parents Thurman Williams and Doris Way Williams, and has resided in the Old River area throughout his lifetime. He retired as an operator for Enterprise Products in Mont Belvieu after 18 years of service, had served in the National Guard for 8 years, attended Barbers Hill High School and was a member of the Church of Christ. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and visiting with others.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mittie Harmon Williams of Old River; daughters, Judy Thomas and husband Rick of Cove and Terrie Huntley and husband Scott of Old River; son, Christopher Williams and wife Kristina of Cove; grandchildren, Westleey and Everett Williams, Laura Thomas, Jerry, Kevin and Kristin Huntley; sister, Barbara Merrill and husband Avery of Clute, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Goma Fowler, 89, of Baytown died Sunday in a local hospital. Services pending at Navarre Funeral Home.
ZACARIAS V. ANGULO
Zacarias V. Angulo, of Baytown died Friday, January 24, 2003 in a local hospital at the age of 65. He was born in San Diego, Jalisco, Mexico on November 8, 1937 and was a longtime resident of Baytown. In 1975, he married Irma Pineda and they began their life together. He was a member of Laborers’ International Union of North America Local #80 and Templo Sinai of Baytown.
Preceded in death by his daughter Ruth Angulo, brother Francisco Angulo, and sister Maria Angulo, he is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Irma P. Angulo; daughter Nancy Angulo and husband Roland; sons Nathan Angulo and Noe Angulo; grandchildren Ernesto and Jessica Angulo all of Baytown; brother Guadalupe Angulo of Matamoros, Mexico; sisters, Baudelia Angulo of Lerdo, Mexico and Tomasa Sanchez of Baytown.
Visitation will be today, Jan. 27, 2003, from 4 to 9 p.m. at L.A.Crespo Funeral Directors, with an evening prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday January 28, 2003 at Templo Sinai, 6214 Wade Rd., with Pastor Rev. Gilberto Paz officiating. Interment to follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Nathan Angulo, Noe Angulo, Roland Ybarra, Luis Morales, Alejandro Morales, Alberto Morales, Jimmy Morales, and George Morales.

ALICE MAE HALUSKA
Alice Mae Haluska, 75, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 6, 1927, in Crosby and was a resident of the Crosby-Baytown area all her life.
She worked at Exxon as a clerical worker and also worked at Sears as an auditing supervisor. She was a member of the Crosby United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Haluska was a great cook and baker which was enjoyed by many friends. She enjoyed her church work where she taught children Sunday School and was on the bereavement committee.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mollie Kosina; sister, Gladys Lostak; nieces Mollie Garner and Lynda Wiley and brother-in-law Douglas Wiley.
She is survived by her loving husband, Willie Lee Haluska; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Scott Walding of Baytown; brother-in-law, Tommie Lostak; nieces and nephews, Lorenda and David Baldwin, Lee Wiley, Lonnie and Eloise Lostak, Regina and Tim Kelley, Harold and Risa Lostak; and Wayne Garner; many nieces and nephews; sisters, Lorine Wiley, Frankie Brewer and husband Wilford; grandson, Brian Remkes; great-granddaughter, Megan Alyse Remkes.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Navarre’s. The funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Crosby United Methodist Church, and the burial will be at White Cemetery in Highlands, with Rev. Gregory Megill officiating.
Pallbearers are Lonnie Franta, Tim Kelley, Harold Lostak, Lonnie Lostak, Lane Lostak, Lee Wiley. Honorary pallbearers are David Baldwin and Wayne Garner.
Memorials may be made to the Crosby United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Special people were Velma Scott and Paula Greene; the Sunshine Class of Crosby United Methodist Church.
EMELIA "MILLIE" MICHALSKY STEWART
Emelia “Millie” Michalsky Stewart, 88, of Pasadena went to be with the Lord Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003. Millie was born May 3, 1914, in Missouri City, TX, to Frank and Annie Michalsky.
Millie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lufkin. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, and was an extremely good cook. Everybody always enjoyed going to Millie’s house and eating. Millie’s biggest joy came from spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Millie is preceded in death by her loving husbands Hugh Brady and George Stewart; six brothers, Adolph, Willie, Arnold, Frank, Joe and Bobby Michalsky.
Millie is survived by her two children; Gene Brady and wife Sarah of Pasadena; Gayle Bertrand and husband Frank of Baytown; brother Tommy Michalsky and wife Naomi of Crosby; sister Anna Mae Jasek of Crosby; seven grandchildren and several step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at Sterling White Chapel in Highlands. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Highlands. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, from 6-8 p.m. at Sterling White Chapel.

JACK EDWIN CURRY
Jack Edwin Curry, 73, of Baytown, passed away, Thursday, January 23, 2003 at a local hospital.
Jack was born February 16, 1929 in Bessmay, Tx. He was an electrician at Exxon for 38 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Baytown where he served as a Deacon. He served in the US Navy. He was a member of Goose Creek Masonic Lodge #1192, Arabia Temple of Houston, Baytown Shrine, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Kennedy Commandry, Silver Beaver with the Boy Scouts and Vigil Honor Member in the Order of the Arrow.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Jack Edwin Curry, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Inez Curry of Baytown; sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie and Laurie Curry of Baytown; Dennis and Susan Curry of Baytown; daughter, Sandy Hartt-Roberts and husband Ray of Baytown; sister-in-law, Dot Sitton and husband Scott of Baytown; grandchildren, Shonda Cottrell, Camie Chavez, Sean Curry, Heather Curry, Brandon Butler, Patrick Butler, Kyle Curry, Patrick Curry and Morgan Curry, great-grandchildren, Jacelynn Chavez, Ashton Butler and Brett Jolly, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank Dr. Chris Hays and the staff of Triumph Hospital for their loving care.

ESTHER FLORA MANLEY
Esther Flora Manley, 87, of Dayton, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, in Baytown after an extended illness.
A native of Protection, Kansas, she had been a resident of Dayton for the past three years and had lived most of her life in Edna, Texas, where she had an insurance agency before retiring.
Graveside services for Mrs. Manley will be 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Hill of Rest Cemetery in Baytown with Steve Coffey officiating.
She is survived by nieces, Anna Manning, Cynthia Pentecost, Janis Cox, Betty Shepherd; nephews, Johnnie William Smith and Randy Roth; 11 great nieces and nephews; and nine great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2:30-9:30 p.m. Sunday at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
