David C. Rawlinson
Funeral for David C. Rawlinson, 50, of Cushing, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Dickie Allen Funeral Home Chapel, Cushing, with the Rev. Ennis Fuller and the Rev. Dennis White officiating. Burial will be in the McKnight Cemetery.
Rawlinson died April 22, 2005, in Cushing.
Born Sept. 28, 1954, in Houston, he was the son of Fate W. and Luzelle Fuller Rawlinson. He owned and operated Lufkin Health Spa for several years, and was an offshore worker for the Aramack Co. out of Houston. He was a Pentecostal.
Survivors include a daughter, Riley Cheyenne Rawlinson of Huntington; step-son, Clayton Weaver of Huntington; brother, Bobby Rawlinson of Dayton; and sisters, Brenda Walker of Houston and Denise Rawlinson of Jasper.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Carolyn Sue Martin
Graveside service for Carolyn Sue Martin, 47, of Center will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Martinsville Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Sowell officiating.
Martin died Dec. 1, 2003, in Nacogdoches. She was born July 5, 1956, in Nacogdoches. She was a member of the Martinsville Baptist Church.
Survivors include brother, Shelton Martin of Martinsville; and sister, Susan Louise Cozart of Houston.

William Aubrey Fain
Funeral for William Aubrey Fain, 98, of Shreveport, La., and formerly of Nacogdoches will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel, Shreveport, with Dr. George Pearce Jr., pastor emeritus of Broadmoor United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Park West Cemetery.
Fain died Dec. 1, 2003, in Shreveport.
Born May 9, 1905, in the Old North Church community, Nacogdoches County, he was the son of Robert and Molly Fain. He had been associated with the fresh fruit and vegetable industry. He was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church. He was married to Minnie Lebo Fain, and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Billy Gerald Young
Services for Billy Gerald Young, 66, of Lufkin will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003, in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with the Reverend Joe Carrier and Chaplain Billy Dunn officiating. Interment will follow in the Pollok Cemetery.
Mr. Young was born July 16, 1937, in Angelina County to the late James Fielding Young Jr. and Dorothy Mary Wise Young. He died Sunday, November 30, 2003, at his residence in Lufkin after a long and courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).
A lifelong resident of Lufkin, he was employed at Champion Paper, formerly Southland Paper Mill for 42 years. He was a line foreman in the groundwood department. During his working career, he was a member and served as an officer of Local 1401.
Mr. Young was active in the Central community, having served for 16 years as a member of the Central ISD Board of Education. He was instrumental in organizing and administering the Central youth baseball and basketball programs. He was a member of the Central Lions Club, president and co-founder of the Pineywoods Youth Basketball Association and president of the Dixie Youth Baseball Association. He also coached and officiated high school basketball games.
He was a member of Pollok Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Sue Young of Lufkin; daughter, Debbie Young of Nacogdoches; daughters and sons-in-law, Christy and Brandon Jones of Pollok, Stephanie and Wayne Elledge of Huntington and Jennifer and Andy Wells of Bronson; son, Clifford Redd of Lufkin; sister, Betty Jones of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Barbara and W.C. Allen of Pollok; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Young was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Dan Jones; granddaughter, Shannon Craft; and mother-in-law, Myrtle Basham.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Nerren, Michael Westbrook, Pat Allen, Donnie Matthews, Delton Smith, Jerry Keeley and Dwight Lyons.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home in Lufkin.
The family wishes to express thanks to the special caregiver that assisted Mr. Young throughout his illness, Dan Jones, Myrtle Basham and Charlotte Hufstetler.

Irene Neeld
Irene Neeld, our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, departed this life and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 30, 2003. At the age of 82 years, she passed peacefully with her family at her bedside in Houston, Texas. She was born to Helen (Gehner) and Almer Overton Lynch on September 18, 1921, on Corsicana, Texas. Irene graduated from North Dallas High School and attended the University of Texas. On November 23, 1942, she married Harvey J. Neeld of Houston, Texas, in San Francisco, California. They were happily married for 57 years, until his death on October 6, 2000. The Neelds raised their family in Wichita Falls, Texas, resided in Houston, Texas, for many years and enjoyed retirement in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Irene was a gracious lady throughout her life. To her family and friends, she expressed kindness and thoughtfulness. She was a wonderful homemaker and loving mother to her family. She enjoyed outdoor activities, particularly water skiing in her younger days as well as gardening and yard work throughout her life. She also loved travel including meeting new people and friends. After her sons were grown, her love of travel was particularly rewarded in her travels with Harvey, during his many assignments in his career in the oil field.
She is survived by sons, Steve, and wife, Elaine, of Spring, Texas, and Jack of Llano, Texas. Irene has four grandchildren, Lauren and Brian Neeld of Spring, Texas, and Jennifer Soto and Brad Neeld of Wasilla, Alaska, as well as two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Conner of Wasilla, Alaska.
The family wishes to extend the warmest gratitude to Irene’s many caregivers for their loving and caring devotion to Irene over the last four years.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Brookside Funeral Home — Champions, 3410 FM 1960 West, Houston, Texas, 77068.
Family services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2003, in the chapel of Cypress Creek Christian Church at 6828 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, Texas. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Houston, Texas.

Mattie Lee Wilburn Raymond
Funeral for Mattie Lee Wilburn Raymond, 85, of Shelbyville will be at 2 p.m. today in Mangum Funeral Home Chapel, Center, with the Rev. Bobby Warr and the Rev. Lamar Denby officiating. Burial will be in West Hamilton Cemetery, Shelbyville.
Wilburn died Nov. 30, 2003, in Pine Grove Nursing Home, Center.
Born Aug. 13, 1918, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Robert George Miller and Vicie Ann Winslow Miller. She was a member of Brown Chapel Church and had worked for many years for the Shelbyville ISD cafeteria.
Survivors include a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Bernice Everett Pleasant
June 11, 1918 — November 30, 2003
Funeral services for Bernice E. Pleasant (colonel, United States Air Force, retired), age 85, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nacogdoches, Texas. Monsignor James Young and the Rev. Martin Gerber will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
Bernie was born July 11, 1918, in Appleby, Texas, the son of Joseph Emory Pleasant and Minnie Euna Mills.
He began his military career in November 1941, where he served dutifully for 33 years. He became an aviation cadet in the United States Air Force and later graduated as a pilot in the class of 1942 F in Lake Charles, La. He married Dolores Kot in September 1942 and was sent overseas the following month. He served in the Sicilian Campaign, Naples, Foggia, Normandy, Northern France, Central Europe, Rhineland, Rome and Arno. He flew a C-47 on D-Day, dropping paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne Division on St. Marie Eglise, as well as serving in the North African theater. After World War II, he returned to Nacogdoches to complete his degree from SFA, where he obtained a B.B.A. degree in accounting in 1951, while participating in the Reserve. He was recalled in to active duty and was sent to Korea as a military adviser to the Korean Air Force for one year. He then returned and went into the B-47 program and became a squadron commander in the 384th Bomb Wing. In 1961, he entered the B-52 program and was later named commander of the organizational maintenance squadron at Kincheloe AFB, Michigan. After a transfer to Wichita, Kansas, he became a commander in the Titan II Missile Program for the 381st Missile Wing. He then advanced to the Minuteman Missile Program of the 321st Missile Wing at Grand Forks, North Dakota. In Vietnam, he was assigned as deputy commander for material for the 460th Tactical Recon Wing. Following his tour in Vietnam, he became the vice base commander at Kadena AFB, Okinawa, Japan. He concluded his military career at March AFB, California, where he was assigned to the 15th Air Force Logistics command.
He is preceded in death by his brother, William Claude Pleasant; and his sisters, Ora Haney Henson, Billie Stripling and Marjorie Carlile.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores “Dee” Marie Pleasant of Nacogdoches; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Scott Kalister of Coral Springs, Fla., Paula and Mark James of West Conshohocken, Pa., Martha and Kevin Drake of Houston and Dawn Parker of Dallas; sister, Bernadine Metteauer Haney of Chireno; and grandchildren, Kelly James, Colin James, Patrick Parker, Ryan Drake, Chandler Drake, Alex Kalister and Taylor Kalister.
Active pallbearers will be B.W. Stripling, Joe Bill Metteauer, Neal Pleasant, Donald Pleasant, James Fitch and Jess Pettey. Honorary pallbearers will be officers and member of the Nacogdoches VFW Post 3893.
Memorial donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building Fund, 1422 CR 724, Nacogdoches, Texas 75964 or the Nacogdoches Treatment Center Alzheimer Day Activity Program, 119 Hughes St., Nacogdoches, Texas 75961.
