DORIS EVELYN TEAGUE
Doris Evelyn Teague, long-time resident of Baytown and retired teacher at Pumphrey Elementary School completed her final lesson plan January 27, 2003.
Born in Conroe, Texas December 14, 1936 she spent her early years in West Columbia, Texas until relocating to Baytown, March 1, 1950. She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and a member of the school band. Following her graduation from high school, she attended Sam Houston State University where she received both Bachelor of Science and Master of Education Degrees. She began her 33 years as an elementary teacher at Parks Elementary in Pasadena, Tx. She also taught at Ludwigsburg Elementary in Germany and Fischer Elementary in Pasadena. Her final teaching position was at Pumphrey Elementary from which she retired after 23 years. She was a shining example of a master teacher and after retirement took great pleasure in seeing her former students on her many shopping trips, proving her dedication to a lifetime of learning and inspiring young people.
Much of her own inspiration came from visiting arts and craft shows as well as travel to other countries. In her lifetime, she was blessed with the opportunity to travel to Japan, Hong Kong, The Phillipines, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Switzerland, England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Spain, Portugal, Egypt, Argentina, Peru and Moscow, Russia. Her one unfulfilled wish was to see the Great Wall of China. Following her retirement, she was a member of The Baytown Retired Teachers Association and The Texas Retired Teachers Association and a former member of The Texas State Teachers Association, National Education Association, Baytown Classroom Teachers Association and The Texas Classroom Teachers Association.
Preceded in death by father, Henry Walter Teague, mother, Nancy Evelyn Cannon Teague, brothers, Walter Eugene Teague and Judge Marvin Odell Teague.
She is survived by her brother, Henry Gale Teague of Hearne, Tx.; nephew, Colin Mark Teague and wife Rosemary of Katy, Tx.; nieces, Michele Denise Ispas and husband Kenneth of Murrieta, California; Kathleen Rene Dixon and husband Richard of Houston; and Stephanie Lynn Nicholson of Ruffin, North Carolina. She is also survived by great-nieces and nephews, Dovey Nichole Johnson and Trevor John Ispas of Murrieta, California and Christina Lynn and Jerry Wayne Lewis of Ruffin, North Carolina.
The family extends special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of both St. Joseph’s Hospital and The Stehlin Clinic for their compassionate care.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 7 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2003 at Earthman Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2003 at Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Rd., Baytown.
Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Rd.
Honorary pallbearers are, Ann and Douglas Hall, Bobbi and Glenn Edwards, Corinne and Don Higbee, Lynda and Jack Stout.

CHARLES ERROL NICHOLS
Charles Errol Nichols was born to Maria and George Nichols on February 7, 1943 in (McNair) Baytown, Texas and was an altar server at Holy Family Catholic Church and a Chaplain’s Assistant in the United States Army.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Marie F. and George Nichols and sister, Vela Davis. Cherishing the life and memory of Charles Errol are his devoted and loving sisters, Ruby L. Davis of Baytown and brother-in-law (Clarence), Katherine Ford of Baytown; Elwyn (Sonnie) Nichols of Memphis, Tennessee and sister-in-law (Alice). Brother-in-laws of Baytown are Rickie Jones and sister-in-law (Darlene) and Kirk Jones, James Gray of Dallas and Carl Gray of San Francisco, California.
Charles Errol’s home going has brought sadness but pleasant memories of his life and of his love to his family that will be forever cherished by his loving wife, Pat. Charles cherished and was very proud of his five daughters; Cisselon “Chicken” Simon Nichols Hurd of Humble, Texas and son-in-law (Jim); Niki Nichols Wesley of Humble and son-in-law (Waymond); Kelli Nichols Murray of Houston, and son-in-law (Calvin), Lady Lovelady of Houston, and son-in-law (Michael) and his youngest daughter, Charlye Lynne Nichols of Baytown.
Charles Errol’s heart was very warm. He loved and cherished his relationship with his brother, Gregory Hunter and sister-in-law (Judy); Sheryl Green of Baytown; Dan Hunter and sister-in-law (Deidre); Debra Johnson of Houston; Pamela Bush and Dwanna Hunter of Baytown.
Charles attended George Washington Carver in Baytown and graduated from Kashmere Garden High School in Houston. He worked in various construction and chemical plants. Charles attended Texas Southern University and Lee College.
Charles has six grandchildren, Waymond Jr., Nia, Destiny, Shelby, Carly and Nicholas. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2003 at Robey Funeral Home, 403 W. Sterling Avenue from 7 - 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass services will be held on Friday, January 31, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 7122 Whiting Rock St., in Baytown with Father Roderick J. Coates officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

JOHN GEORGE AMON, SR.
John George Amon, Sr., 59, of Baytown was born January 6, 1944 and passed away January 22, 2003 in a Houston hospital. He was employed as a boilermaker and played Santa Claus at the San Jacinto Mall.
His family received friends at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at Navarre Funeral Home at 12 Noon. His body will be cremated.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Alford Amon and daughter Christina Higginbotham and is survived by his wife, Sandra Amon of Baytown; son, John Amon Jr. of Baytown; mother, Enid Amon of Redding, CA; sisters, Diane Brown, Colleen Jennings, Mary Eillen Amon, Judy Schnell, Kathy McFadden, and Ellan Dale; and brothers, Michael Amon and Patrick Amon.

GOMA WALKER FOWLER
Goma Walker Fowler, 96, was born January 20, 1907 in Trent, Texas to Toliver and Maggie Walker. She left this earth January 26, 2003 to join her heavenly Father.
Goma married William Iman Fowler in September of 1928. Survivors are son, George Fowler and wife Doris of Belton, Tx.; daughters, Edna Davidson and husband John of Baytown; Peggy Sue Smith and husband Eugene of Baytown; grandchildren, Jack Robertson of Laughlin, Nevada; Wayne Davidson of Weatherford, Tx.; Kim Shortt of Baytown; David Michael Fowler of Nacogdoches, Tx.; Robert Fowler of Hurst, Texas; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Preceded in death was husband W.I. Fowler, one daughter, Ira Lou Yopp and grandson, Charles Robert Davidson.
Mrs. Fowler lived in Longview, Tx. for 45 years. She was an LVN and a much respected and loved lady. She was a loving, caring mother and grandmother.
Graveside services will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Longview, Tx. on Thursday, January 30, 2003 at 11 a.m. The family wishes to thank Remington Park staff for four years of TLC and offering quality care giving to our mother. Also, thanks to Odyssey Hospice for their help and TLC.

THOMAS KRAMPOTA
Thomas Krampota, 82, passed away, Saturday, January 25, 2003 at Green Acres Nursing Home in Baytown, Texas.
Born in Crosby, Texas the son of John and Rosa Krampota. Thomas worked for Exxon in Baytown, as a pipe fitter for 38 years. He was in the US Army during World War II as an MP. He is a Member of the American Legion. Thomas loved to work in his garden. Loved taking care of his cats, and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing. He always stayed busy with his wood stove and making sure he had plenty of wood for the winter. He worked hard and long for his family. Even through all the wrongs and rights, his life was always to take care of his family, and that’s the best love anyone can give.
Predeceased by four sisters, three brothers, his parents, John and Rosa Krampota, one son, Ronnie Krampota, stepson, A.J. Heitman and two step-daughters, Rosalie Rodger and Dorothy Martin.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marie Rosalie “Napoli” Krampota, three daughters, Sheron Cochran of Houston; Karen McCllough and Katie Williams both of Crosby; four sons, step-son, Tony Heitman of Humble; Tom Krampota, Jr. of Panama City, Fla.; John Krampota and Ricky Krampota both of Crosby; sister Gladys Merritt of Baytown; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, also many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 - 9 p.m., today, January 28, 2003 at Sterling White Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at Sterling White Chapel with Bro. Larry Koslovsky officiating.
Interment will be at SPJST Cemetery on 1942.

VIRGINIA SANFORD BRIAN
Virginia Sanford Brian, born July 16, 1913 to Louise and Dr. Harry Bennett Sanford in Richmond, Virginia, died January 26, 2003 at the age of 89. A resident of Kingwood, TX for the last 15 years, she and her husband, John lived in Baytown, TX from 1946 until 1974, excluding 10 years of overseas assignments in Venezuela and Cuba with Exxon affiliates. Graduating from high school in 1930, this remarkable young woman continued her education at Westhampton College in Richmond, VA, where she was captain of the field hockey team and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1934. Virginia entered the work force with the Girl Scouts of America, which took her to Long Beach, CA, where she met and married John Daniel Brian, on August 19, 1942 after a six week courtship. She was a precious, loving wife, mother and grandmother, always willing to give of her self and time, being ever demonstrative with her love of family. Throughout her life, Virginia was active in her faith as a Southern Baptist, witnessing to and caring for the many friends with whom she grew to know. Mrs. Brian is preceded in death by her sister, Anne Louise Sanford; brothers, Harry Bennett Sanford, Jr., Cary Owen Sanford; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Massey Sanford. She is survived by her husband, of 60 years John Daniel Brian of Kingwood, TX; sons, Dr. John Daniel Brian, Jr. and his wife, Jeneane, and James Sanford Brian and his wife, Patricia sisters, Harriet Bredin and her husband, Stephen, and Isabel Rankin and her husband, Hugh; brother, Thomas Sanford; grandchildren John Robert Brian and his wife, Rosalie, Eileen Ann Brian, Daniel Stephen Brian, Jane Katherine Brian, Jason Sanford Brian and his wife, Jennifer, Patrick Scott Brian and his wife, Johanna, Bradley Whitfield Brian; great granddaughter, Mackenzie Grace Brian; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may pay their respects to Virginia after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2003 at Kingwood Funeral Home, where the family will be present for visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at Kingwood First Baptist Church, 2303 Tree Lane, Kingwood, TX with Dr. Dearing Garner officiating.
