Emilio Vega, 56, of San Angelo, died Saturday April 25, 2009 in Springfield, Mo.
Family visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM starting on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Mary Martinez of Templo Casa De Mi Padre in San Angelo, officiating. Following services, Mr. Vega will be cremated and a private family burial of his ashes will be at a later date.
Emilio was born in Los Angeles California on February 25, 1953 to Emilio and Evangelina Vega. Emilio worked as a butcher and carpenter for many years. He spent most of his adult life in California moving to San Angelo in 1990. Emilio successfully owned and operated a car audio business and a carburetor repair shop.
Emilio met his wife Dianne at age eighteen and committed his life to making her happy and spoiling her. Emilio married his wife, Dianne Reyes in December 11, 1972. Emilio and his wife spent a wonderful 36 years together, making the most of every day. Emilio and Dianne are true testament to what love is and what it should be. Emilio did not just marry into his wife’s family but became a very special part of it. He was dearly loved by his mother in law who considered him a son & by his sister in-laws who loved him like a brother.
Emilio was a devoted father and husband, committed to the success of his family. He was always putting his family first and helping others in any way possible.
The family enjoyed hunting, restoring and rebuilding cars. Emilio spent many nights and weekends racing cars out at the track with his sons. He was a great father, and an even better grandfather. His presence will be greatly missed, but he will be remembered forever & his legacy of family first will live on through his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a very special grandmother Jobita Reyes
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Vega; sons; Emilio Vega Jr & wife Andrea, Michael Vega and wife Amber, all of San Angelo; son Andy Vega and wife Mary, of Miles, TX; a daughter Cynthia Bart and husband Richard, of San Angelo.
He is also survived thirteen grandchildren; Kristen, Richie 3rd, Mikey Jr., Anyssa, Andy Jr., Joesi, Ariel, Jacob, Whyatt, Mia, Emilio 4th, Emmalee & Jordin; Brothers; Arturo Guizar, Javier Vega, Jesus Vega, Mario Vega; Sisters; Martha Martinez, Evangelina Godines, Maria Ellena Nunez all from Southern California and numerous nieces and nephews.

O. G. “Robert” Haigood, age 74, of Sterling City died Thursday April 23, 2009 at his residence.
Graveside services will be 6:00 p.m. on Sunday April 26, 2009 at the Montvale Cemetery in Sterling City with Chaplain William Rosser with Hospice of San Angelo, officiating. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Robert was born in Roaring Springs, Texas on February 10, 1935 to Wesley Lee Haigood and Opal Pierce Haigood. He worked as a measurement technician for Canyon Pipelines. Robert served in the U. S. Navy where he attained the rank of Seaman Recruit during the Korean Conflict from March 4, 1952 to November 23, 1953. Robert and Sandra Pool were married on June 1, 1955 in Snyder, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter; Stephanie Haigood.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra Pool Haigood of Sterling City; daughter Judy Vick and husband, Roy of Odessa, TX; son Kenneth Haigood and wife, Sharon of Lubbock, TX; son Daniel Haigood of Odessa, TX; son Wesley Haigood and wife, Heidi of Miles, TX; granddaughter Crystal Cash of Odessa; grandson Eric Cash and wife, Jodi of Hinesville, GA; grandson Nick Haigood and wife, Dana of Lubbock, TX; granddaughter Kendra Wilcox and husband, Vaden of Levelland, TX; grandson Joshua Haigood and wife, Cindy of Elberton, GA; Amanda Haigood of Elberton, GA; great-granddaughters; Kimberly Cash of Odessa, TX; Chalen Osborn of Odessa, TX; Eloise Haigood of Lubbock, TX; Alexa Haigood of Elberton, GA; great-grandson Tyson Haigood of Elberton, GA.

Arturo C. Reyes also known as “Tudi & Art”, 50, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in a Dallas hospital.
Arturo was born March 19, 1959 in San Angelo, Texas to Juan and Juanita Reyes. He was an employee of Nabors Well Service in San Angelo.
Visitation will be a 6:00pm-8:00pm Friday, April 17, 2009 with the family present at Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 7:00pm Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Rev. Mills Caraway officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date.
Survivors include son, Eric C. Reyes of San Angelo, Texas; father, Juan M. Reyes of San Angelo; brothers, Mario Reyes of San Angelo; Barney Reyes and Johnny Reyes of Fort Worth; sisters, Olivia Reyes and Mary Reyes of Fort Worth; Irma Reyes of Watauga and Rosalinda Cedillo of San Angelo.
Edna Inez Elliott Barton

Edna Inez Elliott Barton of San Angelo passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Nursing Facility at the age of 91. She was a member of Belmore Baptist Church.
Edna was born to Ralph Bennett Elliott and Sarah Zimmerman Elliott July 2, 1917 on the Rollie White Ranch in McCullough County where the family lived and worked. She attended school in Brady and upon graduating entered college at Texas Women’s University in Denton, where she earned a degree in Home Economics. She was the first grandchild in the family to attend college and receive a degree. She moved to Eola, Texas to teach and met Early Barton, her husband of 68 years. They lived on the farm and raised three children. She taught Homemaking and through the years while raising the children also taught in the elementary grades. In 1964, the family moved to Sterling City, where Edna taught Homemaking. She retired in 1975 after 27 years of teaching.
She is survived by her husband, Early; daughter, Betty Schwiening and her husband Curt of Roosevelt; son, Bobby Barton and his wife Gail of Dale; grandchildren, Steve Barton and his wife Beatrice of Odessa; Allison Mirike and her husband David of Plano; Chris Barton and his wife Kim of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Elba Schwiening of San Antonio. She also had six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Edna was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Barton; her parents; two sisters, Dorothy Elliott and Hazel Rivers; and one brother Alton Elliott.
Visitation with the family present will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Dr. Toby Irwin of Belmore Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Steve Barton, Chris Barton, Elba Schwiening, David Mirike, Jacob Luna and Mario Luna.

L.G. Sevier, 82 of San Angelo died Thursday April 2, 2009 at his residence.
Rosary will be 7:00 PM Sunday April 5, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM Monday, April 6, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Bishop Michael D. Pfeifer, OMI and Father David Herrera co-officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
L.G. was born December 17, 1926 in Christoval to Napoleon and Inez Garcia Sevier. He married Belia Briones on July 6, 1949 in San Angelo and they shared 59 wonderful years together.
L. G. was a deacon for the Catholic Diocese of San Angelo serving St. Mary Catholic Church since 1979. He worked as a supervisor at Sante Fe Railway for over 40 years before his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Silvano Sevier.
Survivors include his wife, Belia Sevier of San Angelo; daughter; Irene Farrell of Winter Haven, FL., son; Fernando Sevier and wife, Esperanza of Beeville; daughter; Leticia Kurtz of San Angelo; Grandchildren; John Farrell and wife, Karen of New Bern, NC, Kristi Farrell of Winter Haven, FL., Wesley Sevier and wife, LeAnne of Winter Haven FL., and Jason Kurtz of Ames, Iowa; Jessica Walthers and husband, William of Orangeburg, SC; Jennifer Kurtz of Sarasota, FL.; Great Grandchildren are Blake, Brooke and Brock Farrell of New Bern NC.; Skylar Sevier of Winter Haven FL., and Madelyn and Caiden Walthers of Orangeburg, SC.; brother; Victor Sevier and wife, Celia, of San Angelo; sisters Martha Soliz of Omaha, NB., and Otila “Tillie” Coronado of Bakersfield, CA.
