Joe R. Adair

Joe R. Adair, 69, of San Angelo passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009, after complications from chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Joe was born to Betha and Pat Adair, of San Angelo, Texas on February 25, 1940.
He attended San Angelo High school and Angelo State University. Mr. Adair proudly served in the Marine Corp. during his high school years and in the U.S. Army from 1958 – 1960. He worked as a sales representative from Monarch Tile for 30 years. He lived in San Angelo, Marshall, Texas, St Louis Missouri, Florence, Alabama, and Indian Rock Beach, Florida before retiring from a brain aneurysm and returning to San Angelo.
Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 8-10AM at Robert Massie Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be 11AM at Fairmount Cemetery with Chaplain JT Tucker of Vista Care Hospice officiating.
Joe was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine Adair (Couch); father, Pat Adair; sister, Patsy Cordell; and mother-in-law, Lois Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Pamela Adair (Johnson); daughter, Christy Adair of Sherman Oakes, California; mother, Betha Hicks; sister, Deloris Hunt and husband Don both of San Angelo; father-in-law, William Johnson and his wife Jan of Leesburg, Florida; sister-in-law, Deborah Meyers and her husband David of Freeport, Illinois. Nieces, Deanne Wohleking and her daughter Katie; Donna Grundy and her husband Scott and their sons, Collin and Hunt; Amanda Meyers, and Carla King. Nephews, Dean Hunt, Jr. and his wife Ruth and their sons, Tailor and Godson, Cameron; Anthony Cordell, and Patrick Cordell.
Joe loved life and despite health problems always remained a blessing to those of us who knew him. He will be truly missed by all of us, including his two devoted and loving Maltese pups, Gucci and Lucky who brought him endless joy.
Special thanks to the many who took care of Joe and helped him to live life to the fullest, Dr. Charles Jones and staff, Dr. Vayden Stanley and staff, Dr. Fazlur Rahman and staff, Dr. Hassan and staff of Community Hospital, VistaCare Hospice, our dear neighbors and friends.

W. J. " Bill" Leach

On Sunday May 10, 2009, Daddy was freed from the bondage of his earthly body and his triumphant spirit soared to heaven to continue eternity in the presence of the living God!
W. J. (Bill) Leach was born June 28, 1928 in Graham, Texas to J. T. and Elfie Leach. At a very young age he committed himself to the service of Jesus Christ. He graduated from Graham High School and at the age of 16 years went to Abilene Christian College. While at ACC, he met Joyce Vernell Wilson who became the love of his life. Daddy graduated with a degree in Education in 1948 and earned a Masters Degree in Bible and Greek in 1968. On September 3, 1948 he married his love and they embarked on a 55 year love story. Two children were adopted into this union, Victor, at the age of 19 months, and Sheri at the age of 6 hours.
Daddy served the Lord faithfully all of his life. He was a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ for many years. He was employed by C & W Enterprises for the last 20 years of his working life, retiring on February 10, 1997. On February 11, 1997, Daddy’s life was forever changed when his beloved wife suffered a stroke that left her unable to care for herself. He lovingly cared for his wife for 5 years until his own health started to begun to decline. Never selling himself as extraordinary, he, in his own words that he had, “just kept a promise made 55 years earlier”.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by the wife he cherished. Also celebrating his arrival in heaven are grandchildren lost birth.
Left to treasure his memory is a son, Victor, of Rosharon; daughter; Sheri Matthews and her husband, Mike; granddaughter, Brandi Banda and her husband, Mario and their four children Camryn, Alexus, Bryanna, and Mario all of San Angelo; grandson, Ryan Matthews and his special friend, Rachel Levine of Austin. Brothers-in-law, Laverne Wilson and his wife, Lera of Smyer, TX; J. W. Wilson and wife, Billie of Kerrville; Coy Lee Wilson and his wife, Mary of Wink; sister-in-law, Winona Derington and her husband, Charles of Odessa; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends also survive Bill.
Many thanks to the staff of Sagecrest Alzheimer’s Care Center for 6 years of exceptional care and to Baptist Hospice for lovingly caring for Daddy for the last 10 days.
Services to celebrate Daddy’s life will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Christian Church of San Angelo, 4064 S. Bryant, with Bob Beaver officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Nicolas L. Morua, 84 of San Angelo passed away Saturday May 9, 2009 surrounded by his loving family.
Rosary will be 7:00 PM Tuesday May 12, 2009 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel.
Mass will 10:00 AM Wednesday May 13, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father David Herrera, of St. Mary Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
Nicolas was born September 10, 1924 in Canoas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Jose and Angela Morua Lara.
Nicolas was a skilled carpenter and worked for many years at the San Angelo Independent School District. He married Cruz Martinez on January 4, 1950 in San Angelo and they shared 59 wonderful years together.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clementino Garcia.
Survivors include his wife, Cruz Morua of San Angelo; two daughters, Josie Soto and husband, Frank of Bedford, TX., and Angie Ortegon of San Angelo; two sons, Nick Morua and wife, Robin of Westminster, CA., and Greg Morua and wife, Velma of San Angelo; Two sisters, Beatriz Morua and Maria Morua of Tampico, Mexico; Grandsons, James Soto & wife Adriana, John Soto & wife Jana and Christopher Morua; Granddaughters, Cassie Morua, Carla Morua, Chelsea Morua, April Ortegon and Crystal Ortegon; Great Grandson, Felix Rosales; Great Granddaughters, Arden Soto, Josie Rae Soto and Celeste Chaidez
Pallbearers will grandsons; James Soto, John Soto, Christopher Morua; son-in-law, Frank Soto and friends.

W. A. " Doc" Bristow

W. A. “Doc” Bristow, 79, of San Angelo died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at a local nursing home.
Family visitation will be held between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2009 at Pioneer Memorial Park in Grape Creek with Rev. John Joyner officiating.
W. A. “Doc” was born in Old Glory, TX on January 19, 1930 to Alvin Lee and Lola Mae Bristow.
He served in the U. S. Army. Doc was a realtor for many years in the San Angelo area.
His wife, Fannie Mae Bristow on Sunday, April 26, 2009, preceded him in death.
Doc is survived by his son, Terry Bristow of San Angelo and a granddaughter; Terah Parker and her husband, Jeremiah of Round Rock and grandson; Brian Bristow of Midland.
Larry Wayne Joyce

Larry Wayne Joyce, 62 of Big Lake, passed away on May 2, 2009.
Larry was born on January 20, 1947 in McCamey, Texas to Jack Wayne Joyce and Billye Mayfield Joyce. He graduated from Reagan County High School and attended South Plains College. He married Cindy Moon Joyce on August 19, 1967. Larry was a Vietnam veteran serving with the 1st 69th Armor from 1969 to 1970. He worked for CP&L in Sabinal, Texas before returning to Big Lake where he worked for Marathon Oil Company as a foreman and retired after 28 years of service.
He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church and a member of Masonic Lodge # 1203. Larry will be remembered for his cheerful smile, loving personality and zest for life. He never met a stranger and loved all of his friends as family.
Larry is preceded in death by his father; Jack Joyce.
Survivors include his mother; Billye Joyce of Big Lake; daughter, Melissa Wood and her husband, Kelly of Midland; son, Jack Alan Joyce and wife, Christy of Big Lake, grandchildren; Haley and Reagan Wood of Midland and Sage Powell and Jett Joyce of Big Lake. He is also survived by his brother Hal Joyce and wife, Vicki of Big Lake and nieces, Laura Kohutek and husband, Jeremy of Dallas and Amy Joyce of Marble Falls.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Holt, Heath Holt, Jerrod Holt, Mike Elkins, Steve Elkins and Rusty Adams.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Oran Harkelroad, Tim Sellman, James Kessler, Del McCallister and Joe Carrasco.
Memorial may be given to the Reagan County 4-H Club or youth organization of your choice.
Family visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00PM Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Glen Rest Cemetery in Big Lake. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post # 253 of Big Lake.
