Memorial For Sudie Tijerina Galindo
December 9, 1935-May 8, 2006
Your Heart was very Weary,
While Ours was full of Woe
We asked you to stay with us,
The Lord said you were needed
And so you had to Go.
On May 8th, 2006, Sudie T. Galindo peacefully passed away after an eleven-year battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family, “La Familia” was the love and purpose of her life.
Sudie Tijerina was born in Sinton, Texas, the youngest of the eight children of Nickolasa Hernandez Tijerina. When her mother was widowed in 1949, Sudie and her Mother moved to San Antonio where they would spend the rest of their days.
Sudie embraced all that life offered, never looking back and regretting little. When she laughed, everyone laughed and when she cried, it was silently, never wanting to burden anyone with her pain. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Aunt, and Grandmother.
She survived the loss of her parents, Cosme and Nickolasa Tijerina, her sister, Maria Louisa “Lupe” Day, and her brothers, Jose and Willie Tijerina.
She leaves behind her grieving family: Her husband, Carlos Galindo; the prides of her life, sons, Glenn and his wife, Bertha, Douglas and wife, Minerva; and the joys of her life, her three granddaughters, Sudie, Nikki, Adrian; her five Grandsons, Dexter, Darrio, Dalton, Robby, Ralph, her Great Grandchildren, Jeylan, Emily, Johnathan, Gabriele and Sienna.; her sister, Maria “Mae” Chapa of Sinton; her brother, Quinto and wife, Virginia Tijerina of Texas City, Cosme and Mary Tijerina of Port La Vaca and Lorenzo Tijerina.
And many saddened nephews and nieces to whom she was always favorite. Sudie also leaves behind many grieving friends. Her shining star will be missed.
And most of all to our “Guardian Angel” Alice Dewitt. The Love and Devotion that she gave to her Aunt Sudie will never be forgotten.
At this time we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Vista Care for all their kindness and support. We would have been lost without them.
