Dorothy Woodruff Daniels, age 83, of San Antonio, died Wednesday, April 13, 2005.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maj. Gen. and Mrs. Roscoe B. Woodruff; and her husband, Col. Robert J. Daniels.
Survivors: sons, Robert Brooking Daniels, San Antonio, TX and David G. Daniels, Dallas, TX; daughters, Jane D. Moehlman, Kettering, OH and Mary D. Poole, Kyle, TX; grandchildren, Sarah Daniels, Ryan Daniels, Toby Daniels, Jamey Poole and Laurie Daniels; brother, Col. Roscoe B. Woodruff, Jr and his wife, Bettie; and other loving family and friends.

Herbert Singer was born in Chicago on December 6, 1917. He passed away in San Antonio on April 11, 2005 at the age of 87.
He also lived in Scottsdale, AZ for 32 years. He was a devoted husband for 23 years to the late Evelyn Singer (Brin) and a loving father to his 3 daughters; Joan Terry (Stuart), Essie Streicher (Rick) and Shelly Leeman (Ron); dear grandfather to Eric Terry (Katie), Kim Terry, Yvette Ostroff (Craig), Kevin Streicher, Ilyse Leeman and Garrett Leeman; and Stepfather to David Katz (Laura); great grandfather to Max and Cooper Terry, Maya Brin Ostroff; devoted brother to Elsie Singer of San Francisco and the late Arthur Singer (Betty); devoted husband to Libby Singer while in Scottsdale; best friends with Jeanne Fries and many others at the Madison House in San Antonio where he resided.
He was a photographer, a sales representative and a gentleman with a great sense of humor. He was an avid reader, bowler, golfer and card player and busy corresponding with friends and family via E-Mail.
He will be buried in Chicago, next to his wife, Evelyn at a private service, where his family will mourn his death and celebrate his life.

James “Jim” T. Crow passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2005. He was born in San Antonio, TX on January 15, 1934. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, LaRue McMurry Crow.
He is survived by his son, James T. Crow Jr. and wife, Bevin, grandson, James T. Crow III all of San Antonio, TX. and a sister, Mary Lou Crow of Dallas, TX.
Jim grew up in Beeville, TX, attended Beeville High School and graduated from Southwest Texas with a degree in Business.
He was a member of the Rotary Club, an avid outdoorsman, and a true friend to those who knew him.
He was co-owner of the Metropolitan Brick Company in Houston, TX and owner of the Edens Implement Company in Center Point, TX. and a former member of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.

Jaunita J. Phillips, 84, died April 5, 2005 in Winchester, Virginia. Jaunita was a former longtime resident of San Antonio.
She was a member and Past Matron of both Adah Chapter #49 O.E.S. and Army Chapter #664 O.E.S., the VFW, American Legion, and Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul.

Deann Sotelo, age 32, went to be with the Lord after a seven year courageous battle with cancer on Monday, April 11, 2005 in San Antonio, TX.

Our beloved Bernard “Sugie” Sugarman passed away on Monday, April 11th, three weeks after his 94th birthday.
Bernard was a life long San Antonio native, as well as a 32nd degree Mason.
At an early age, he joined his father at Sugarman Bros. and Son Department Store, and later he founded Sugarman’s Uniform Company, where he outfitted many of the San Antonio Police Force, the U.S. Military and several local private schools.
Well-known and respected by all of his customers, he remained a favorite of the uniform community long after he retired from the uniform business.
An avid golfer, Bernard was proud to have made a “hole-in-one” at age 84.
In later years, his daily gin rummy game at Oak Hills Country Club became a daily highlight.
Bernard was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Miriam Friedman Sugarman.
He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends, as well as his survivors: daughter, Sandra and her husband, Stanley Rosenberg; son, Kenny and wife, Carol Sugarman; grandchildren, Susan and Lee Sandoloski; Carol and Steve Baskin; Jill and Bobby Rosenthal; Michael Sugarman; Amy Sugarman and husband, Dan Weingart; and Andrew Sugarman. Bernard was an adoring great-grandfather to Allison and Sean Sandoloski, Sam and Chelsea Baskin; Justin, Blake, and Aubrey Rosenthal and Ethan, Clair and Lindsay Weingart.

John E. O’Neill III, age 66, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2005 in San Antonio, TX.
He was born and raised in New York and moved to San Antonio in 1978.
He was a member of the 11th Airborne Division while serving in the U.S. Army.
John was a dedicated employee of PaineWebber for over 20 years until his retirement. In recent years he was an independent broker.
Some of his many loves were coaching Little League baseball in New York and golfing.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Marion Kern, and by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Mary; sons, John E. O’Neill IV of Long Island, Phillip O’Neill of Pennsylvania, Robert McClay and wife Tammy of Dallas; daughter, Kim McClay of Colorado; brother, Brian O’Neill and wife Cookie of Idaho; granddaughter, Megan; grandsons, Robert, Matthew, Luke, John, and Joseph; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of loving friends.
Melvin Lachman

Melvin Lachman. Born April 25, 1918 in San Antonio to Martin and Freida Karotkin Lachman. Died April 7, 2005.
A life-long resident of San Antonio, Lachman graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and the University of Texas at Austin. After serving as an officer in the U.S. Army during WWII, he returned to San Antonio and co-founded Lachman-Rose, the largest toy distributor in the Southwest. The business was later sold to W.R. Grace and, after a brief retirement, he joined the Quincy Lee Co. and remained until his death.
A warm and generous man, he never knew a stranger. He was involved with countless non-profit organizations and civic groups having served on many boards including St. Luke’s Hospital, Jewish Community Center, the Cancer Therapy and Research Center, Medical Center Hospital Economic Development, the Lachman-Lee Breakfast Club, the Club of Rome, and Compass Bank.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Margery Lachman and his sister Maxine Duboff. He is survived by his wife Judith Lachman; his daughters, Lynne Penner and Andrea Lachman; grandchildren, Matthew Penner and Melanie and Andrew Weinberg; siblings Elaine Frank and Sid Lachman; and children Vicki Pitluk (Len Hoppe) and Barry Pitluk.
Pallbearers include Marvin Barenblat, Mike Birnbaum, Elliott Cohen, Dr. Jesse DeLee, Steve Lee, Jim Patterson, Leo Rose, Stanley Schoenbaum and Chuck Sugerman. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Atwell, Morris Bankler, Dr. Harry Eastman, Zachary Lee and Dr. Russ Norman.
