EARSEL LEE TEZINO SIMIEN

Earsel Lee Tezino Simien departed this life on January 28, 2003.

She was born Earsel Lee Eagleton on June 9, 1936 in Huffman, Texas from the union of Willie and Annie Eagleton along with 11 brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in death by son, Stevie Tezino and is survived by four sons: Kenneth King Tezino, Sr. of San Antonio; Rickey Ray Tezino of Houston; Kaster LaDarryl Tezino of Los Angelos, Cailf.; Donald Ray Tezino, Jr. of Houston; three daughters, Veronica Tezino Murray of Houston; Melody Tezino Thomas of Port Arthur; and Wyomme Tezino Grubbs of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by five sisters and three brothers and a host of loving aunts, relatives and friends.

She leaves as a treasure 26 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren to carry the dream of being and achieving your best. She has always instilled education and religious values in all her children. She was a loving mother and grandmother and well known in the Crosby area. We will surely miss her.

Visitation will be from 6 - 9 p.m. today, January 31, 2003 at Walker Funeral Home in Crosby.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Greater Crosby Temple in Crosby, with Rev. Marvin Louis Bennett officiating.

Burial service will follow at White Cemetery, Highlands.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Home, 734 FM 1942, Crosby, 281-328-2801.

ELLA B. LEE

Mrs. Ella B. Lee, 59, of Baytown, passed away in a Houston hospital. Services are pending at Frazier Funeral Home, Baytown, 281-426-5579.

TOMMIE LEE BAKER

Tommie Lee Baker, 72, of Rusk, Tx., passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at Jacksonville, Tx. Arrangements are pending at Earthman Funeral Home, Baytown, 281-422-8181.

WANDA JEAN MASTER NORMAN

Wanda Jean Masters Norman, 48, passed from this life on January 27, 2003 in Houston, Texas.

A life-long resident of Baytown, she is preceded in death by her parents, E.A. and Louise Woods Masters.

She is survived by her loving husband Gary Norman and their son, Robert Norman, both of Baytown, along with her sister and brother-in-law, Ernestine and Darrell Comeaux of Houston; mother and father-in-law, Cecil and Jean Cope of Baytown; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Donna Norman of Dayton; Stephen and Paula Norman of Baytown; her nephews and nieces, Blake and Gabriel Comeaux of Houston; David Norman, Jr. of Baytown; Magan Norman of Baytown; special family members Norman and Molly Stutts of Highlands; Molly and Katy Wright of the Woodlands; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Ms. Norman was born in Baytown on August 26, 1954. She attended Ross Sterling High School, Lee College and the University of Texas where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. Additionally, she was a life-long member of Second Baptist Church.

She worked as a teacher for the Sheldon Independent School District for 26 years teaching second grade. Ms. Norman was very active at her school and was often asked to lend her expertise to various committees. Her campus awarded her “Teacher of the Year” in 1992. Ms. Norman had a special gift for teaching children and will be greatly missed by her co-workers and students.

Ms. Norman was known among her family and friends for her generous, kind and giving nature. This was no more evidenced than by her taking care of her mother in her home during the latter years of her mother’s life. She also loved being with her family and friends, especially when it included group shopping and movie trips. But most of all, she loved being a wife to her husband, Gary and a mother to their son Robert. She is irreplaceable in their hearts and will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook, Baytown from 5 - 8 p.m. today, January 30, 2003.

Funeral services will be held at Navarre Funeral Home at 3 p.m. on Friday, Janaury 31, 2003 with Brother Tommy Clements officiating.

Interment will follow at White Cemetery in Highlands.

Pallbearers will be Joe Woods, Don Woods, Gary Woods, Porter West, Mike Tucker and Rick Comeaux.

Arrangements are under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook, Baytown, 281-422-8111.

WALTER WILLIAM KNEPP

Walter William Knepp, 58, of Baytown, passed away, Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at a local hospital.

Walter was born September 21, 1944 in Ft. Walton, Florida. He was a Graphic Artist with Ad Plex, a member of Victory Tabernacle Church in La Porte. He served in the US Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Connie Knepp of Baytown; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Terry Leman of Secor, Ill.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Suzanne Knepp of Barrington, Ill.; Wayne and Jody Knepp of Morton, Ill.; Gary and Sue Knepp of Eureka, Ill.; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. today, January 30, 2003 at Navarre Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2003 at Harvest Temple Church with Rev. Ron Burnett and Rev. James L. Kilgore officiating.

Interment will be at Cedar Crest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be, David Barley, Randy Fluitt, Terry Cecil, Rick Posey, Tim Wilkinson and Phillip Brannon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to the Walter Knepp Memorial Fund, 3207 Allenbrook, Baytown, Tx. 77521.

Arrangements are under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook, Baytown, 281-422-8111.

LEONARD DUGAT

Leonard Dugat of Cove passed away, Wednesday, January 29, 2003 from heart complications.

He was born to Larry and Phene Dugat in Old River-Winfree, August 3, 1919 and moved to Cove in 1941 and lived there for 61 years. Leonard worked for Exxon, Humble and retired in 1974. He was a member of the Cove Church of Christ for 61 years. His pastime was hunting and fishing.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Myrtle Hill Dugat of 61 years, two daughters, Darlene Martin and husband Gene, Susan Bertrand and husband Mickey, six grandchildren, Lynn Fisher and husband Brian, Gary Huddleston, Cristi Joseph, Beau Martin and wife April, Susan Kaye Martin, Brandi Bertrand, four great-grandchildren, Brayden Fisher, Seth Fisher, Emily Joseph, Gaige Martin and a host of nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. today, January 30, 2003 at Navarre Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2003 at Navarre Funeral Home, officiated by Mickey Bertrand and Gene Martin and singers from the Church of Christ.

Burial will follow at Memory Gardens on Garth Road.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Wilbert Dugat, Verlin Dugat, Douglas Dugat, Larry Dugat, Jr., Gerald Reeves and Don Willard Reeves.

Arrangements are under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook, Baytown, 281-422-8111.

DORIS EVELYN TEAGUE

Doris Evelyn Teague, long-time resident of Baytown and retired teacher at Pumphrey Elementary School completed her final lesson plan January 27, 2003.

Born in Conroe, Texas December 14, 1936 she spent her early years in West Columbia, Texas until relocating to Baytown, March 1, 1950. She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and a member of the school band. Following her graduation from high school, she attended Sam Houston State University where she received both Bachelor of Science and Master of Education Degrees. She began her 33 years as an elementary teacher at Parks Elementary in Pasadena, Tx. She also taught at Ludwigsburg Elementary in Germany and Fischer Elementary in Pasadena. Her final teaching position was at Pumphrey Elementary from which she retired after 23 years. She was a shining example of a master teacher and after retirement took great pleasure in seeing her former students on her many shopping trips, proving her dedication to a lifetime of learning and inspiring young people.

Much of her own inspiration came from visiting arts and craft shows as well as travel to other countries. In her live-time, she was blessed with the opportunity to travel to Japan, Hong Kong, The Phillipines, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Switzerland, England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Spain, Portugal, Egypt, Argentina, Peru and Moscow, Russia. Her one unfulfilled wish was to see the Great Wall of China. Following her retirement, she was a member of The Baytown Retired Teachers Association and The Texas Retired Teachers Association and a former member of The Texas State Teachers Association, National Education Association, Baytown Classroom Teachers Association and The Texas Classroom Teachers Association.

Preceded in death by father, Henry Walter Teague, mother, Nancy Evelyn Cannon Teague, brothers, Walter Eugene Teague and Judge Marvin Odell Teague.

She is survived by her brother, Henry Gale Teague of Hearne, Tx.; nephew, Colin Mark Teague and wife Rosemary of Katy, Tx.; nieces, Michele Denise Ispas and husband Kenneth of Murrieta, California; Kathleen Rene Dixon and husband Richard of Houston; and Stephanie Lynn Nicholson of Ruffin, North Carolina. She is also survived by great-nieces and nephews, Dovey Nichole Johnson and Trevor John Ispas of Murrieta, California and Christina Lynn and Jerry Wayne Lewis of Ruffin, North Carolina.

The family extends special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of both St. Joseph’s Hospital and The Stehlin Clinic for their compassionate care.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 7 p.m. today, January 30, 2003 at Earthman Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2003 at Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Rd., Baytown.

Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Rd.

Honorary pallbearers are, Ann and Douglas Hall, Bobbi and Glenn Edwards, Corinne and Don Higbee, Lynda and Jack Stout.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pumphrey Elementary Library Fund, P.O. Box 30, Baytown, Tx. 77522.
