The couple were married Jan. 31, 1953 in Athens. The Rev. J.W. Creasman officiated. Their family includes children David and Kay Miller of Maryville, Jackie and Gay Miller of Friendsville, Joyce Miller Payne of Maryville and Dennis Miller of Maryville. They have five grandchildren, Bethany Simerly, Caleb Miller, Matt Miller, Seth Miller and Blake Payne, and one great-granddaughter, Macey Simerly. Their family includes children the late Connie Ruth Harmon, the late Sharon Marie Harmon and Darrell Lloyd Harmon and wife Candice Marie Harmon of Friendsville.
