Mildred Campbell Shaver

Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Campbell Shaver, 77, were 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2005 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Rev. Roy West officiating. Interment icon followed in Dickson Union cemetery.

Mrs. Shaver, a homemaker who was born in Hickman County, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. She was a member of the Methodist church. She was a member of Dickson Chapter #291 Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her son, James Gary Shaver of Dickson; daughter, Sharon Maples of Dickson; two grandsons, Jay Maples of Dickson and Nathaniel Shaver of Dickson; nephew, Donald Campbell of Massillon, Ohio; and niece, Judy Shaver Long of Dickson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Virgil Shaver; and parents, James Nolan and Evie Burgess Campbell.

Memorials may be made to Masonic Widows and Orphans Fund of Tennessee.

Carl Tidwell Allen

Funeral services for Mr. Carl Tidwell Allen, 92, are 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 at Dickson Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Davis officiating. Interment icon will follow at Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time.

Mr. Allen of Charlotte was born in Dickson County Aug. 8, 1912. He died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005 at Centennial Medical Center. He was a farmer.

Survivors include his sons, Dale Harbison Allen of Charlotte and B. J. Anglin and his wife, Renea of Dickson; special niece, Sue Quin and her husband, Robin of Dickson; sister, Lula Mae Yates of Dickson; grandchildren, Melissa Allen, Holly, Heather and Hunter Anglin; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fate and Susie Tidwell Allen and wife, Evelyn Harbison Allen.

Deborah Dover Parola

Memorial services for Deborah Dover Parola are 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 at the United Freewill Baptist Church in Dickson. Arrangements handled by Ellis Funeral Home in Nashville.

Ms. Parola was born in Detroit, Mich., Oct. 4, 1955. She died on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004. She spent much of her time in Middle Tennessee with her family. She was a very devoted and loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed by her family and by scores of friends and acquaintances that were privileged to know her and be a part of her life.

Survivors include her two children, Morgan Nicol and Michael Andrew Parola of Monterey, Calif.; parents, Hershel and Mary Dover of Holly Pond, Ala.; sister, Gloria Dover Micsak of Nashville; nieces, Coleen Lankford of Nashville and Pamela Ott Sathngam; great nephews, Cameron and Cole Sathngam of Destin, Fla.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorials can be made to the Susan B. Komen Cancer Foundation.

William Sullivan

Funeral services for Mr. William C. “Bill” Sullivan, 79, were 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005 at Dickson Funeral Home with Bro. Clark Brown officiating. Interment icon followed in Sullivan cemetery.

Mr. Sullivan of Dickson was born in Dickson County May 22, 1925. He died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005 at Horizon Medical Center. He was a tool and die setter for Schrader’s and served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his sons, Ronald D. Sullivan and wife, Brenda of Dickson, Michael S. “Mick” Sullivan and wife, Lisa of Strawberry Plains and Randall J. Sullivan and wife Glenda of Dickson; sisters, Mildred LeComte and Pauline Harris, both of Dickson; special friend, Anna Greener of Dickson; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and five sisters and wife of 59 years, Ruby Lossilee Steele Sullivan.

Melissa Turbeville

Funeral services for Mrs. Melissa Turbeville, 82, are 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2005 at Dickson Funeral Home with Bros. Clarence DeLoach and Steve Baggett officiating. Interment icon will follow at Union cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday.

Mrs. Turbeville of Dickson was born in Dickson County June 28, 1922. She died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005 at Horizon Medical Center. She retired as supervisor after 42 years with Henry I. Siegel Company and was a member of Walnut Street Church of Christ for over 60 years.

Survivors include her husband, Horace Turbeville of Dickson; stepsons, Bill Turbeville and his wife, Rebecca of White Bluff and Wayne Turberville and his wife, Sherrie of Dickson; stepdaughter, Brenda Dawson and husband, Billy of White Bluff; sister, Lorene Gilmer of Dickson; stepgrandsons, Justin Dawson and his wife, Susan and Caleb Turbeville; stepgranddaughter, Katherine Turbeville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Malinda Tidwell Harrington; and first husband, Roy Turbeville.

Michael Daniel Wood

Funeral services for Master Michael Daniel Wood, two months, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004 at Oakdale Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Durwood Worley officiating. Burial was in Yellow Springs cemetery in Parsons.

Master Wood passed away Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. He was born Oct. 6, 2004 in Dickson to Michael Grant Wood and Ashley Nicole Hardin Wood of Dickson.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Michael and Paula Hardin of Camden, Ron and Tammy Walker of Holladay, Stanley and Diane Wood of Bath Springs and Shawn and Wendy Fancher of Lyles; great-grandparents, Robert and Carolyn Stokes and Mack and Brenda Bawcum, both of Holladay, Ruth Hickerson of Parsons and Harold and Connie Justice of Camden.

Robert Milton Emery

Memorial services for Mr. Robert Milton “Blackie” Emery, 62, were 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Rosemary Brown and Jamie Allen officiating. His remains were cremated.

Mr. Emery, an electrician, was born in Scottsville, Ky. He died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Hartley Emery of Charlotte; sons, Robert Emery Jr. and Steve Emery, both of Charlotte; daughter, Stephanie Emery of Charlotte; sister, Brenda Lovell of Charlotte; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hartley of Centerville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Ivey and Virginia Brown Emery.

Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation or American Diabetes Association.

Ethel Martin

Graveside services for Mrs. Ethel V. Martin, 89, were 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2004 at Union cemetery with Bro. Eddie Thomas officiating. Arrangements handled by Spann Funeral Home.

Mrs. Martin of Nashville died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 at Alive Hospice in Nashville.

Survivors include nieces, Betty Nichols of Tampa, Fla., Glenda Holmes of Maryville, Wash., Anita Weems of Dickson and Shelby Graham of Dickson; nephew, James Fry; grandson, Patrick Fry of Oklahoma; and special friends, Sid and Billie Corban and Pearl Jones, all of Franklin.

Thomas “Kenneth” Taylor

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas “Kenneth” Taylor, 81, were 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2005 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Bro. Ralph Taylor and Bro. David Peeler officiating. Interment icon followed in Taylor cemetery in White Bluff.

Mr. Taylor, a retired farmer and carpenter who was born in Cheatham County, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Florine Owens Taylor of White Bluff; three sons, Henry Taylor and his wife, Janice, William Taylor and his wife, Pam, all of White Bluff and Thomas Taylor and his wife, Tammy of Humble, Texas; three daughters, Judy Rawls and her husband, Thomas of Bon Aqua, Treva Goodman and her husband, Michael, and Julie Petty and her husband, Jeffrey, all of White Bluff; sister, Juanita Greer of Nashville; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Ethel Welch Taylor.

Walker Tucker

Funeral services for Mr. Walker R. Tucker, 71, were 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005 from the chapel of Spann Funeral Home with Bro. John Gibbs and Bro. James Carrington officiating. Interment icon followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Tucker of Dickson died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Jean A. Tucker of Dickson; four sons, Michael Tucker of Dickson, Kevin Tucker of Burns, John Tucker of Dickson and Howard Tucker of Charlotte; two daughters, Shelly Gilbert and Patti Chappell, both of Dickson; two brothers, Marvin Tucker and Baxter Tucker, both of Michigan; one sister, Ann Tucker of Michigan; 15 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Donald Mark Hinkley

Funeral services for Mr. Donald Mark “Don” Hinkley, 42, were 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Brother Bill Elkins officiating. Interment icon followed in Tidwell New Hope cemetery.

Mr. Hinkley, a loopman with Sessions Paving Company, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. He was born in Rochester, N.Y.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Hinkley of White Bluff; son, Nicholas Hinkley of Rochester, N.Y.; two stepdaughters, Tiffany Prentice of Canadaiqua, N.Y., and Meranda Prentice of Murfreesboro; grandson, Drey Pope of Murfreesboro; father, Ed Hinkley of Webster, N.Y.; mother, Patricia Rushman of Canadaiqua, N.Y.; brothers, Jim Hinkley of Rochester, N.Y., and Bobby Hinkley of Webster, N.Y.; sister, Debbie Hyman of Webster, N.Y.; mother-in-law, Lou Gafford of White Bluff; favorite niece, Brittany Windsor of Dickson; and several other nieces and nephews.

Allen Murphree Dean

Funeral services for Mr. Allen Murphree Dean, 75, were 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004 at McDonald Funeral Home in Centerville with Jimmy Gardner, Troy Slay and Bill McDonald officiating. Interment icon followed in Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church cemetery in Primm Springs.

Mr. Dean, a farmer, was born in Primm Springs. He died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Helen Fox Dean; son, Dickey Dean; daughter, Debbie Neal, all of Primm Springs; and sister, Sarah Cook of Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Lucille Murphree Dean.

J. W. “Shine” Dotson

Funeral services for Mr. J. W. “Shine” Dotson, 91, were 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004 at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen. Interment icon followed in Edgewood cemetery in Dickson.

Mr. Dotson of McEwen was born in Dickson Aug. 8, 1913. He died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004 at the Humphreys County Nursing Home in Waverly. He was a retired timber cutter. Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Dotson of Waverly; four daughters, Rebecca Lane of Dickson, Willene Johnson of Vinita, Okla., Mary Alberd of McEwen and Vonda Dotson of Fairview; brother, Jack Dotson of Dickson; sister, Mary Ann Jordan of Dickson; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William George Dotson and Mary Ollie Averitt Dotson; and son, John Dale Dotson.
