Terry Faught, 50, of Sparta, passed away Feb. 6, 2006.
Faught was born Jan. 24, 1956, in Detroit, Mich., to Carlos Elroy and Mary Thelma Mitchell Faught.
Faught was preceded in death by one grandson, Jaimon Zayne McKissack, and father, Carlos Faught.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra F. Napier Faught; one son, Christopher Faught; mother, Mary Thelma Faught; two stepdaughters, Linda Napier and Jennifer McKissack, both of Sparta; and five grandchildren, Leah Nichole Metcalf, Kiersten Amber Hull, Gavin Slade McKissack, Kayla Lynette Writtenberry and Devin McKissack.
Arrangements: Services will be 11 a.m., Feb. 9, 2006, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with burial in Oak Lawn Memorial cemetery. Steve Farris and Jimmy Lindsey will officiate.

Lois A. Reightler
Lois A. Reightler, 82, of Sparta, passed away Jan. 27, 2006.
Reightler was born April 24, 1923, in Allentown, Pa., to John J. and Marian Hinckel Budner.
She was a homemaker
Survivors include her husband, George Reightler, of Sparta; one son, John Reightler; one sister, Alice Cleary; one granddaughter, Bonnie Reightler; two great-grandsons, Zachariah and Ashton Margeson; nephew, William Reightler and wife Julie; friend, Beverly Justice; and several other nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Feb. 12, 2006, at Sparta Church of the Nazarene.

Billy Joy Pollard Shockley
Billy Joy Shockley, 72, of Sparta, passed away Feb. 3, 2006.
Shockley was born Jan. 20, 1934, to William M. and Ercie Green Pollard.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sparta.
Shockley was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Hope Pollard Martin; and one brother, Edward L. Pollard.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Tommy Shockley, of Sparta; one daughter, Stephanie Shockley Eldridge, of Doyle; one son, Mike Shockley, of Cowan; one brother, Jim Pollard, of Knoxville; three grandchildren, Christa Widener, of Sparta, Ryan Eldridge, of Kansas City, Mo., Ashley Shockley, of Murfreesboro; and four great-grandchildren, Chassidy, Samantha, Stefan and Lucy Widener, all of Sparta.
Arrangements: Services will be 2 p.m., Feb. 11, 2006, at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Larry Burke will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

Willie Jay Lee
Willie Jay Lee, 89, of Sparta, passed away Feb. 4, 2006.
Lee was born Dec. 30, 1916, in Putnam County, to William Lee and Ova Bray Lee.
He served in the U.S. Army and had been a brick maker.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ernest Lee; one daughter, Virginia Wilkerson; five sisters, Nannie Young, Naomi Black, Zella Lee Dodson, Mary Ema Lee and Omaze Waggnor; and one brother, James Lee.
Survivors include one daughter, Frances Lee George, of California; two sons, Charles E. Lee, of Hilham, and David Lee, of Cookeville; one sister Bennie Young, of Sparta; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements: Services were 10 a.m., Feb. 8, 2006, at Thurman Funeral Home Chapel with burial at West Putnam County cemetery. Bro. Dewey Young and Mack Lehigh officiated.

Kristine C. Poteet
Kristine C. Poteet, 39, of Sparta, passed away Feb. 7, 2006.
Poteet was born April 12, 1966, to Norma Jean Swiggart and Burgess Webb Swiggart.
She was a homemaker and a teacher. She was employed by Kids First and White County Board of Education.
Poteet was preceded in death by her father, Burgess Webb Swiggart, and two children, Sabrina Poteet and Donald Poteet.
Survivors include her mother, Norma Jean Swiggart; her husband, Donald Ray Poteet; two daughters, Katrina Elizabeth Poteet and Alexia Nicole Poteet, both of Sparta; one son, Donald Ray Poteet Jr.; one brother, Shane Swiggart, of Grimsley; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Leslie and Chris Thurnher, of Ogden, Utah, and Yolanda and Terry Scott, of McMinnville.

Odell Townsend Ford, 86, of Sparta, passed away March 11, 2005.
Ford was born April 27, 1918, in White County, to Storm and Lena Wheeler Townsend.
She had been a secretary.
Ford was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.D. Ford Jr.; and one daughter, Margaret Alice Ford Cope.
Survivors include her son-in-law, Jerry Cope, of Sparta; two grandchildren, Gina Haley, of Doyle, Mike Cope, of Sparta; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Cope and Shauna Haley.

Thelma R. Northcutt
Thelma R. Northcutt, 91, of Spencer, passed away Oct. 9, 2004.
Northcutt was born Aug. 9, 1913, in Van Buren County, to Charles Oakwood and Elsie Simmons Oakwood.
She had been a factory worker.
Northcutt was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clee Northcutt; two daughters, Jennie Belle, Thelma Jo; and one grandson, Bobby Chandler.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Emma Jean and Robert Chandler, of Spencer, Nancy and Duane Bryant, of McMinnville; one son and daughter-in-law, J.C. and Linda Northcutt, of Manchester; five grandchildren, Billy, Wade, Vickie, Terry, Gary; three great grandchildren, Tiffany Chandler, Craig Chandler, Travis Bryant; special friends, Deltric Howard, Audry Hodges, Polly Delon; and several nieces and nephews.

Lillian Cooper Ellis
Lillian Cooper Ellis, 98, of Knoxville, formerly of Sparta, passed away Jan. 5, 2002, at Shannondale Health Care Center in Knoxville.
Ellis was born April 22, 1903, in Pleasant Hill, to B. Cooper and Mary Pennington Cooper.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sparta and was a member of the D.A.R. Ellis owned and operated Cumberland Furniture Company in Sparta for 44 years. She attended high school in Cookeville and Martin College in Pulaski.
Ellis was preceded in death by her husband, Verdie C. Ellis; four sisters, Vera Leftwich, Edith Land, Callie Walker and Treva Foutch and two brothers, Robert Cooper and Charles Cooper.
Survivors include one daughter, Rosemary Mayberry of Knoxville; two grandsons and their spouses, Mark and Cathey Mayberry of Knoxville and Chris and Nelda Mayberry of Atlanta, Ga.; three granddaughters, Jessica Mayberry of Knoxville and Christen Mayberry and Nicole Mayberry both of Atlanta, Ga.; several nieces and nephews; and a loving caregiver, Iva Irwin of Knoxville.
Arrangements: The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., Jan. 8, 2002, at Hunter Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow. Burial will take place at Highland cemetery. Jeff Jones will officiate.

James Charles Moore
James Charles Moore, 75, of Quebeck, passed away Oct. 5, 2004, at St. Thomas Hospital, in Nashville.
Moore was born Feb. 23, 1929, in Quebeck, to William A. Moore and Elnora Halterman Moore.
He had been a mechanic.
Moore was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Mason Moore, of Quebeck; one daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Terry Farmer, of Quebeck; one sister, Margie Jo Copeland, of Oliver Springs; three grandsons, Anthony Nash, Mason Farmer and John Moore, all of Quebeck; one nephew, Terry Copeland, of Harriman; and one aunt, Nell Anderson, of Quebeck.
Arrangements: Services will be at 1 p.m., Oct. 7, 2004, at Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Jericho cemetery. Dan Horton and Gary Mason will officiate.

Patricia Ann "Pat" Verble
Patricia Ann "Pat" Verble, 55, of Sparta, passed away Aug. 6, 2004.
Verble was born Aug. 26, 1948, in Fontana, Calif., to Fred Jennings and Maude Harvey Jennings.
She had worked for a number of years at Bank of Putnam County and Bank of White County.
Verble was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Bert Jennings and Bill Jennings.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Tennille and Tony Hawkins, of Cookeville, Alexis Verble, of Sparta; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Britt and Susannah Akers, of Cookeville, Rhett Verble, of Sparta; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mae and E. J. Brewer, of Waynesboro, Faye Henson, of Murfreesboro, Brenda Hanley, of McMinnville, Gloria and Jimmy Putty, of Smithville; one brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Marilyn Jennings, of Cookeville; and three grandchildren, Eli, Judah and Annie Akers, all of Cookeville.
Arrangements: Services will be at 7 p.m., Aug. 9, 2004, at Trinity Assembly in Algood with burial Tuesday in Cookeville City cemetery. Pastor Mike Campbell will officiate.
