Verna M. Davis Bruner, 99, of Anderson, Ill. formerly of Sparta, passed away Sept. 27, 2003.
Bruner was born March 12, 1904, in White County, to George Davis and Laura Anderson Davis.
Bruner was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Bruner; two grandchildren, Michael Warren and Lora Bruner Flowers.
Survivors include one daughter, Louise Warren, of Anderson, Ill.; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Francine Bruner, of Anderson, Ill.; six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Arrangements: Services will be at 11:30 a.m., Sept. 30, 2003, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, in Anderson, Ill., with burial in Memorial Park cemetery in Anderson, Ill. Rev. Steve Holdzkom will officiate.

Anna Mae Sherrell Lineberry
Anna Mae Sherrell Lineberry, 58, of Baxter, passed away Sept. 27, 2003, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Lineberry was born Nov. 4, 1944, in Putnam County, to Oscar Leonard Sherrell and Martha Ellen Stover Sherrell.
She was a member of Scott Avenue Baptist Church.
Lineberry was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Joyce Thompson and Cathy Sherrell.
Survivors include her husband, J. R. Lineberry; three daughters and one son-in-law, Laura and Randy Wheeler, of Cookeville, and Lisa Lineberry and Barbara Lineberry, both of Baxter; one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Katherine Lineberry, of Baxter; two brothers, Dale Sherrell, of Cookeville, and Donald Jerry Sherrell, of Stockton, Ala.; three sisters, Joyce Dunn, of Cookeville, Hazel Carmack, of Cummins Mill community, and Sandra Maynard, of Baxter; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Services will be at 11 a.m., Sept. 29, 2003, at the chapel of Baxter Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant View cemetery. Bro. Jack Gentry and Bro. Mickey Leftwich will officiate.

Jerry Michael Edmonds
Jerry Michael Edmonds, 32, of Sparta, formerly of Trappe, Pa., passed away Aug. 16, 2003, at Cumberland Medical Center.
Edmonds was born May 25, 1971, in Pennsylvania, to Jerry Everette Edmonds and Barbara Landes.
He had been a mechanic with Proffit Trucking.
Edmonds graduated from Perkiomen Valley High School and North Montco Vocational Technical School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working.
Survivors include his father and step mother, Jerry and Ruth Edmonds, of Bon Air; mother and step father Barbara and Carl Obarowski, of Perkiomenville, Pa.; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Cyndi Edmonds, of Quakertown, Pa.; one niece, Sarah Edmonds, of Quakertown, Pa.; maternal grandmother, Lola Landes, of Harleysville, Pa; maternal grandfather, Ferrel Landes, of North Carolina; paternal grandparents, Everette and Pauline Edmonds, of Bon Air; aunts and uncles, Greg Landes, Pamela and Patrick Martin, Beth and Thomas Sudduth, all of Pennsylvania, Brenda and Jim Scott, of Sparta, Jim and Rhonda Edmonds, of Bon Air and Patty Edmonds, of Miami, Fla.; and several cousins.

Darlene White, 81, of Cookeville, passed away Feb. 15, 2003.
White was born July 6, 1921, in Jenkins, Ky., to James Calvin and Minnie Boggs Mullins.
She had been office manager at Arhor Packing Company.
White was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include one son, Edward R. Gilley of Sparta; one daughter, Barbara Ritchie of Lawton, Okla.; four sisters, Mary June Gellins of Alexander, Va., Delcia Marie Moneypenny of Weston, Va., Joann Singer of Sarasota, Fla. and Phyllis Jean Mullins of Alvardo, Texas; three brothers, Otis Ray Mullins of Portsmouth, VA, Robert Lee Mullins of Silver Creek, Wash. and Douglas Mullins of Denton, Md.; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Andrew L. Jackson, 73, of Sparta, passed away Feb. 8, 2003.
Jackson was born Sept. 15, 1929, in Putnam County, to Landon Garland Jackson and Vallie Ann Phy Jackson.
He had been a truck driver.
Jackson was preceded in death by his parents; one son Donnie Jackson; one grandson, Donald L. Jackson; and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Jackson of Sparta; one son, Andrew Jackson Jr. of Sparta; one daughter, Ann Carter of Walling; two sisters, Ora Harris and Bonnie Sliger both of Cookeville; two adopted brothers, Darrell Jackson and Ricky Jackson both of Cookeville; four grandchildren, Lannie Carter of McMinnville, Eddie Carter of Walling, April Jackson of Chattanooga and Holly LeAnn Fisher of Michigan; and two great grandchildren, Tristan Lee Carter and Kaylee Jade Campbell.

Jeanie Bell McKay, 95, of Sparta, passed away Feb. 14, 2003, at white County Community Hospital.
McKay was born June 6, 1907, in White County, to David Russell McKay and Ellen Ross McKay.
She had been a secretary at Sparta Spoke Factory.
McKay was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, John Baxter McKay, James Russell McKay, Pete McKay, Ben McKay and David McKay.
Survivors include seven nieces, Shirley Morgan of Kingsport, Jean Ann Howell and Helen Grissom both of Sparta, Elizabeth Cole of Virginia, Mable Cockray of Maryland, Jeri Lowaree of Chattanooga and Lois Smyre of Sevierville and five nephews, Paul McKay of Ohio, David McBride of North Carolina, Tommy Long of Oregon, Alfred McKay of Ohio and King McBride of Chattanooga.

Walter Keith Horton, 65, of Quebeck, passed away Feb. 10, 2003, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Horton was born May 29, 1937, in White County, to John A. Horton and Mildred Sims Horton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Mott Horton of Sparta; one son, Danny Horton of Quebeck; one daughter, Jennifer Adcock of Quebeck; and four grandchildren, Hannah Horton, Hallee Horton, Jessica Ray and Sarah Ray all of Sparta.

Bessie Hickey, 86, of Pikeville, passed away Feb. 11, 2003, at Life Care Center of Sparta.
Hickey was a member of Calvary Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude E. Hickey.
Survivors include two daughters, Agnes Sims of Chattanooga and Barbara Roberson of Pikeville; two sons, Kenneth Hickey of Gettysburg, Pa. and James V. "Bud" Hickey of Sparta; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Phy of Cookeville/ one brother, Cecil Tollison of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Joene G. Bouldin
Joene G. Bouldin, 82, of Van Buren County, passed Feb. 15, 2003.
Bouldin was born Jan. 28, 1921, in White County, to Joseph Edgar Guy and Mary Elizabeth Lawson Guy.
She attended a Church of God and was a retired nurse's assistant with the Van Buren County Health Department.
Bouldin was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Bouldin and two brothers, Edgar Lee Guy and J.D. Guy.
Survivors include two daughters, Imogene Delong of Spencer and Margie Simmons of Germantown; three grandchildren, Earl Delong and Johnny Delong both of Spencer and Alecia Simmons of Germantown; three great grandchildren, Nick Delong, Cole Delong and Drew Delong all of Spencer; one sister, Ilene Burge of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one brother, Earl Guy of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.

Doris H. Caton, 62, of Sparta, passed away Feb. 15, 2003.
Caton was born Feb. 27, 1940, in Fentress County, to John H. Wilson and Golda Lee key Wilson.
She had been a grocery merchant.
Caton was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Terry Holman of Sparta and two brothers, David Wilson of Sparta and Donald Wilson of Sparta.
