Ollie Mowdy
KINGSPORT - Ollie (Depew) Mowdy, 87, Kingsport, Tenn., went to be with the Lord Monday, (July 2, 2007), at Brookhaven Health Care in Kingsport, Tenn. .
She was born in Hawkins County, Tenn. and has made her home most of her life in Kingsport. She attended Sullivan West High School and was a member of Clouds Bend United Methodist Church since 1946.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleve Mowdy; parents, Roly and Sibbie (Begley) Depew; sister, Rosa Churchwell; brothers, Floyd Begley, and John William Depew.
Ollie is survived by her two special cousins, Georgia Franklin, and Lucille Stallard both of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday (July 5, 2007) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Charles Dye, Rev. Charles Kilbourn, Rev. Jerry Scalf officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted following the service at Clouds Bend cemetery (off Ridgefields Road in Kingsport). Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will Don Carr, Howard Tennyson, Roy Bagley, Otho Bagley and Walter Bagley.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Clouds Bend cemetery C/O cemetery fund 1003 Ambleside Drive, Kingsport, Tn 37660.
The family would like to thank Brookhaven Health Care for their care and help during her stay.

Donald Edward "Don" Wise
Gate City - Donald Edward “Don” Wise, 63, Gate City, Va., went to be with the Lord Thursday (June 28, 2007).
A native of Abingdon, Va. Don lived the majority of his life in Kingsport, Tn. In 2001 he moved to Gate City, Va.
Don was a honorable United States navy Veteran. He was an active member of Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Gray Tn. Don retired from Eastman Chemical with 37 years of service.
He was a faithful and loving husband and father. Don was a dedicated grandfather to four amazing grandsons, who were all Pappaw’s buddies.
We are all comforted that our father is in heaven.
Don was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy; mother Lola Jackson Wise; sister Ann Hutchins; and brother James Robert Wise.
He is survived by his faithful wife of 32 years, Marti Gibson Wise of the home; sons, Donald Edward Wise, Jr. and wife Pamela, Blountville, Quintin Wise and wife Jennifer, Kingsport; daughters, Tyra Kendall and husband Kevin Elizabethton, Hollie Bryant and husband P.J., Charlotte, N.C., grandsons, Jackson, Zachary, and Jacob Wise and Cade Kendall; father James Robert Wise, Abingdon, Va.; brother, Curtis Wise, Johnson City; sister Betty Barnes, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday (July 1, 2007) at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
The funeral service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Robert Fultz officiating. Music will be provided by Darrell McCann.
Military graveside service will be Monday (July 2, 2007) at Glenwood cemetery in Bristol, Tenn. with the American Legion Post #3/265 and the Tn. Army National Guard conducting the rites, Lawrence Shoemaker, Chaplin. Honorary pallbearers will be family and friends. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:55 p.m.

Frank Glen Ford, Sr.
Frank Glen Ford, Sr., 86, of Gray, Tenn., passed away Friday, (June 22, 2007) following an extended illness.
Born in Washington County, TN, he moved to East Carters Valley for five years and then moved back to Washington County. He served in the United States Air Force for four years, and was a graduate of East Tennessee State University. He retired from Tennessee Eastman after 40 years of service as a chemist and was a member of The Boone Creek Bible Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hilda Frances Conner Ford in 1962; second wife Dorothy Stapleton Ford in 2005; brothers Bob Ford, and J. R. Ford; sister, Louise Conner; and parents, Vernon Clay and Anna (Birdwell) Ford.
Mr. Ford is survived by his son, Frank G. Ford, Jr. and wife Evelyn, Gray, Tenn; two grandchildren, Glen Jerome Ford, and Kristie Karol Bouton; two step grandchildren, JoAnna Edwards, and Kristy Bryant; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Hazel Durham, Bristol, Tenn, Lela Bess Hale, Piney Flats, Tenn., and Betty Cavanah Blountville, Tenn.; brother, Edgar Ray Ford, Bristol, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be Sunday (June 24, 2007) from 12 to 2 p.m. at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will be held Sunday at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with Rev. Roy Yelton officiating.
A military graveside service will follow at Holston View cemetery with American Legion Post #3/#265 and Joe W. Byrd, Chaplin in charge of graveside service.

Robbie Drinnon
Kingsport - Robbie Kay Wilson Drinnon, 31, Kingsport, passed away Saturday (June 16, 2007) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was a life long resident of Kingsport and had worked as a waitress at the Waffle House.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff Drinnon, Kingsport; daughters, Della Milhorn, Johnson City, Becky Drinnon and Brittany Drinnon, both of Kingsport; mother and step-father, Wanda and Mike DeMatteo, Kingsport; father, Robert Wilson, Moultrie, Ga.; sister, Lisa Short and husband Johnny, Kingsport; brother, Jeffrey Keymon and wife Mary, Kingsport; step-sister, Donna Faye Wilson, of Georgia; special niece, Heather Webb; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call anytime at the residence at 5734 Lehigh Street, Kingsport, TN.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bellamy cemetery, with Rev. John Hall officiating.

Janice J. Mann Talbert
Janice J. Mann Talbert, 60 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday (June 14, 2007) at Holston Valley Medical Center following a long illness.
Born in Gate City, Janice had been a resident of Kingsport for most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her infant twins; her parents, Carl and Sudie Blair Mann; sisters, Elline Williams, and Betty Adkins; brothers, Carson Mann and Fred Mann.
Janice is survived by her husband Eddie Talbert, Kingsport; two brothers, Jerry Mann and wife Barbara, Hiltons, VA, James Mann and wife Sue, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday (June 17, 2007) from 4 to 6 p.m. at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Friends may also call anytime at the home of a niece, Kim Doughtery, 1617 Hermitage Drive, Kingsort.
Funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 6 p.m. with Rev. David Townsend officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday (June 18, 2007) at 2 p.m. at the Strong Family cemetery, Gate City, VA.

Frank E. Roberts
Kingsport - Frank Edward Roberts, 59, of Kingsport, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Stickleyville, VA ( Lee County) and lived in Kingsport for more than 50 years. He was an Army Veteran having served in Vietnam. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, who loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar an Srepta Gibson Roberts and two brothers, Fred Roberts and Jerry Roberts.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Carolyn Bishop Roberts of the home; his son, Tony Roberts and wife Robin of Limestone, TN; two daughters, Tammy Fisher and husband Scott of Limestone, TN and Tracy Jones and husband Joe of Jonesborough, TN; six grandchildren, Chassidy Roberts, Charridy Roberts, Caroline Fisher, Cole Fisher, Kayla Jones and Kareena Jones; two brothers, Robert "Bob" Roberts and wife Janice of Kingsport and Charles Roberts and wife Pam of Jonesborough, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family in honoring Mr. Roberts wishes, had him cremated and their will be no public funeral.

E. Bruce Newell
Kingsport - Edmond Bruce Newell, 91, formerly of Salisbury, N.C., died on Thursday (June 7, 2007) at his son’s residence in Kingsport, Tenn.
Mr. Newell attended Campbellsville College, received a B.S. degree from the University of Kentucky majoring in Biology, and received a Masters degree from the University of Iowa in Biology. He also attended Medical School at the University of Iowa. Professor Newell taught biology at Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Ky. and Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C., from which he retired. Mr. Newell was a member of the Williamsburg, Kentucky Masonic Lodge since 1946. Bruce was a member of First Baptist Church in Salisbury, N.C., where he served as a Deacon, taught the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class and served on the Board of Trustees.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Hazel Newell; and his sisters, Geneva Lane and Elizabeth Keyes.
He is survived by his sons, John Newell and his wife Bobbie, Kingsport, Tenn., Eugene Newell and his wife Cedonia, of Montana; his grandchildren, Joe Newell, Mike Newell and Melissa Ealey; and three great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday (June 10, 2007) from 1 to 2 p.m. at Summersett Funeral Home in Salisbury, N.C.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday in the funeral home chapel, with a special friend, Rev. Tom Roberts officiating.
Graveside services will follow the funeral at Rowan Memorial Park on Sunday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
