Ina Mae Massey
KINGSPORT - Ina Mae (McCray) Massey, 73 of Kingsport, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, November 26, 2006 at Johnson City Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and was retired from Leon-Fernbach in Johnson City. She was a gardener, loved her animals and was a wonderful cook. She attended Tri-City Evangelical Methodist Church.
Mrs. Massey was preceded in death by her husband, Meredith "Mart" Massey; her parents, Samuel Eugene McCray and Iva Mae (Crumley) McCray; brother, Jessie E. McCray and a special nephew, Kenneth Grindstaff.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda and granddaughter, Lisa of Kingsport, and grandson, Jason of Blountville; sister Evelyn Reed of Bluff City and a brother, Sammy McCray of Johnson City.
Calling hours will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Wednesday November 29, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Entombment services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with Pastor Rick Roop officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sullivan County Humane Society, Blountville, TN 37617.

Timmy L. Maples
Blountville, TN - Timmy Lewis "Tim" Maples, 30, of Blountville, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2006.
He was a graduate of Sullivan Central High School. His hobbies included computers and HAM radios. Tim will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Samuel Earnest Maples and Alvin Daniel Shipley.
Surviving are his loving parents, Earnest and Evelyn Shipley Maples of the home; his sister, Tammy Bledsoe and her husband Larry of Delaware; grandmothers, Evelyn Maples and Gladys Thompson both of Kingsport; a niece, Miranda Sue Bledsoe of Delaware along with several loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours are from 2-3 pm on Sunday, April 16, 2006 at the Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 3 pm in the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Larry Bledsoe, officiating. Music will be provided by the Bledsoe family.
Burial will follow the service in the Gunnings cemetery, Kingsport. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Beulah Mae Moody Russell
KINGSPORT, TN - Beulah Mae Moody Russell, 73, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at Holston Valley Medical Center following a long illness. Born in Clinchco, VA, Beulah had been a resident of Kingsport for most of her life.
She was a past member of Cedar View Independent Methodist Church and was currently a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Ed Russell; parents, James and Katherine Gent Moody; several sisters and brothers; and a son-in-law, Ronnie Johnson.
She is survived by her daughters, Freda Johnson of Kingsport and Kathy Huff and husband Rick of Longs, SC; son, Larry S. Russell and wife Audrey "Jeanene" of Kingsport; grandchildren, Hollie Childress and husband Kyle, Jason Russell, Valerie Miller and husband Mike, Cyndi Johnson, Keisha Stratton, and Deanna Souders; great-grandchildren, Heath and Abby; sister, Arlene Emerson and husband Art of Johnson City; brother, Dwight L. Moody of Washington, D. C.; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at Oak Hill cemetery, Kingsport, TN. Pallbearers will be Larry Russell, Jason Russell, Kyle Childress, Mike Miller, Pastor Greg Street, and Rick Huff. Those who wish to attend the graveside services are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:55 am, Saturday, November 18, 2006.

Allen Dean Willis
KINGSPORT, TN - Allen Dean Willis, 68, of Kingsport, passed away Saturday morning, November 11, 2006, at Sunbridge Hillside Manor.
He was of the Baptist faith and a retired employee of the Sullivan County Highway Department and worked several years with Rental Uniform Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents Richard D. and Ethel Sherfey Willis.
Mr. Willis is survived by his wife, Patsy Light Willis of the home; son, Jeffrey Willis and wife Angela of Franklin, TN; three grandchildren whom he adored, Justin Richard Willis, Andrew Jeffrey Willis, and Catherine Brook Willis all of Franklin, TN; sister, Ruth Chatman and husband Russell of Fall Branch; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm on Monday, November 13, 2006, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Steve Lyon and Rev. Marvin Ketron
KINGSPORT, TN - Marvin C. "Hodge" Ketron, 77 of Kingsport, died peacefully at his home on Monday, November 6, 2006 following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Chilhowie, VA, but had been a resident of Kingsport for most of his life. He was a well-known and respected contractor in the Kingsport area for many years. Marvin was a member, deacon, and song leader at Poplar Grove Primitive Baptist Church, where he had served for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Salyer Ketron; his parents, Ira David Ketron and Effie Lola Stines Cox and a brother Orb Ketron.
He is survived by his daughters, Priscilla Irvin and husband Oscar of Kingsport, Shirley Berry and husband Mack of Rhodiss, NC, Wanda "Sissy" Gilliam and husband Doug of Kingsport, and Lola Mae Arnold and husband Albert of Kingsport; sons, Terry Ketron of Kingsport and Wade Ketron of Knoxville; grandchildren, Tracy Graybeal, Phillip Irvin, Bridgett Campbell, Mack, and Clinton Berry, Jonathan, Brandon and Daniel Ketron, Adam and Dusty Wallen and Melissa Arnold; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Cookenour and husband Brad of Church Hill and Beulah Duszak and husband Ed of Pennsville, NJ, and several nieces and nephews.

Lorraine Kennedy
KINGSPORT - Edna Lorraine (Green) Kennedy, age 88 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Wise County, VA (Appalachia) Lorraine moved to Kingsport as a young adult.
She was a very faithful and loving wife and sister, with a great enthusiasm for life. She was a member of Mayfair United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph "Prazz" Kennedy; her parents, Samuel D. and Tille Green; a sister, Alma DeVault and two brothers, Roy A. Green and Forrest Green.
She is survived by her sister, Hazel Roberta Green of Kingsport and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 1-2 PM on Tuesday November 7, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Kingsport - John L. Dalton, 57, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 10, 2006, at Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Hamblen Co., TN and had lived in Kingsport for the past 10 years.
He served at a City Police Officer for several years in White Pine, TN. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert "Bob" Dalton; his parents, Claude and Virgie Newman Dalton; a sister, Helen McDonald and 4 brothers, Claude "Buster", Ed, Earl and James Dalton.
Surviving is Sherry of the home; his 2 daughters, Misty Castle and Nikki Wolfe both of White Pine, TN; 3 sons, Johnny Lee Dalton of White Pine, TN, Mike Maxwell of Bristol, VA, and Steven Maxwell of Kingsport; 9 granchildren; 3 sisters, Charlsie Brown of White Pine, Betty Brown and Mary Frances Brown of Morristown, TN; 5 brothers, Bill Brown and wife Lisa of Russellville, TN, Clarence Dalton and wife Linda, Clifford Dalton and wife Jeanie, James Dalton and wife Max and Fredie and wife Helen all of Morristown, TN along with several nieces and nephews.

Anthony Flynn
Kingsport, TN - Anthony "Tony" Flynn, 53, of Kingsport, TN, passed away Wednesday evening, November 1, 2006, at Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born and raised in Kingsport, TN. Tony attended Brookside Elementary School and Ketron High School. He served in the United States Marine Corp., and was a self-employed mechanic. He was a member of Apostolic Gospel Church.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Wayne Flynn; maternal grandparents, Robert and Helen Moody, paternal grandparents, Albert and Molly Tipton Flynn.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Sue Gilliam Flynn of the home; mother, Ina Owens; father and step-mother, B. G. Flynn and Ester Flynn; step-sons, Richard Hinkle and wife Priscilla, and Daniel Hinkle and wife Lori all of Kingsport; five step-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Jones and husband Ben of Gate City; Lou Ann Johnson and husband Todd of Surgoinsville; brother, Gary Allen Flynn of Kingsport; step-brother, Randy Gordon of Kingsport; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
