Elbert Estepp
Kingsport - Elbert Robert Estepp, 80 of Kingsport, went home on Saturday, April 21, 2007, to be with his Heavenly Father after a lengthy battle with cancer. At his side was his family and close friends, echoing the values that he so dearly treasured in his life. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather and trusted advisor who will be dearly missed by all whom he touched.
Born on June 17, 1926 in Scott County, VA, he had spent his early years on the farm outside Manville. He later moved to Kingsport, where he met his beloved wife of 55 years, Pauline Louise (Godsey) Estepp and found a fullfilling career at Eastman Kodak where, after 42 years of dedicated service, he retired in 1986.
Elbert's enjoyments included outdoor activities (such as gardening), church activities and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Angeline (Bates) Estepp; sister Norma Bailey; brothers, Audley, Carl and Garland Estepp.
He is survived by the love of his life, Pauline Godsey Estepp; his loving children, daughter, Jennifer Ramey and husband Jerry; son, Stanley Estepp and wife Regina all of Kingsport; grandsons, Jeremy Ramey and Eric Estepp; brother, Cecil Estepp and wife Blanche of Gate City; his close nephew, Tony Estepp and wife Nanette of Gainesville, FL; and many other loved nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM Monday (April 23, 2007) at Reservoir Road Baptist Church, 1817 Seaver Road, Kingsport, TN. Friends may also call anytime at the residence.
Funeral service will be held at he church at 7:00 PM with Rev. Keith Smith, Rev. Jerry Ramey and Rev. Lamar Herndon officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Oak Hill cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:55 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Reservoir Road Baptist Church, 1817 Seaver Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.

Marie Bridgeman
Kingsport - Marie Ensor Bridgeman, 72, Kingsport, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Friday (April 27, 2007) at her residence in Kingsport, Tenn.
She was the daughter of the late Walter and Geneva (Griffith) Bridgeman and lived in Kingsport for over 50 years. She was retired from ITT North Electric, Gray, Tenn. She attended Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church, Gray.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Evla E. Harvey; and brother, Ernie Ensor.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Earl Bridgeman, of the home; one son, Alan Bridgeman, Kingsport; four sisters, Lu Davis, Lola Kelchner and husband Charles, Margaret Goad, and Linda Lane, all of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday (April 30, 2007) at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church, Gray.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the church, with Dr. Gene Lasley officiating.
Music will be provided by the Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church Choir, with Gary Seaman, Director.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday (May 1, 2007) at Oak Hill cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday.

Helen Rigsby Ford
Helen Rigsby Ford, 84, Kingsport, Tenn., went to be with the Lord late Saturday (April 28, 2007)at The Wexford House in Kingsport. She was born in Jonesville, Va. and moved to Kingsport at a young age. She was a member of the Saint Luke United Methodist Church.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Denver H. Ford; two infant daughters; parents, William and Lillian (Grizzel) Rigsby; two sisters, Maybell, and Shirley, one brother, Robert.
She is survived by her son, Denver H. Ford, II and Cynthia, Kingsport; two grandsons, D. Howard Ford, III and wife Susie, and Christopher Lee Ford, both of Kingsport; four sisters, June, Faye, Linda, and Kathy; two brothers, Paul and Kenneth; and several nieces and nephews.
The calling hours for Helen were Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
The funeral service was held at the funeral home on Sunday at 4 p.m. with Rev. John Brewster officiating. Music was provided by Brinley Addington.
Graveside services will be held Monday (April 30, 2007) at 10 a.m. at Gunnings cemetery in Blountville, Tenn.

David Hershal Atchley
"God gave us a gift..."
David Hershal Atchely, 58 of Kingsport was called home by Jesus on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Jefferson City, TN, David had lived in Knoxville for several years prior to moving to Kingsport. David graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1969. While at UT, David was a member of U.T. Singers and was a R.O.T.C. distingushed military graduate. He was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was a man who loved God, and expressed it by singing, sharing, caring and loving those who he came in contact with. Following retirement, David became an avid golfer and enjoyed spending winters in Florida, where he was active in Crescent Beach Baptist Church, St. Augustine and First Baptist Church, Venice. He also lead singing at Warriors Path Park Service. David was a member of the National Society of Srabbard and Blade, 4th Regiment; Fraternal Order of The Eagles, Colonial Heights; former owner and president of Mid South Data Systems; member of I.C.R.D.A. serving as president 1992 - 1994; chairman of the board 1994-1996. He enjoyed visiting the hospital and volunteering with the Mended Hearts program.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Atchley.
Surviving are his wife, Charlotte Baker Atchley of the home; his daughter, Stephanie and husband, Jason Rossiter of Carlsbad, CA; granddaughter, Brea Rossiter of Carlsbad, CA; his mother, Joyce Atchley of Knoxville; brother, John Atchley Sr, and wife Sandra of Knoxville; mother in law, Ruth Baker of Kingsport; along with several special brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be from 4 - 7 pm on Monday, May 15, 2006 at Colonial Heights Baptist Church, 108 Colonial Heights Road, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow in the church at 7 pm with J.M. Baker and Rev. Greg Burton, officiating. Music will be provided by the church choir.
Military Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport with the American Legion Hammond Post # 3 and Gate City Post #265 in charge of services. Pallbearers will be John Atchley, Jr., Forrest Ruble, Kenneth Bates, Mark Duval, Mike Stallard, Clinton Roberts, Matthew Duval and Ethan Bates. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Baker, Bob Baker, Jerry Lawson, Bob Comenzo and Travis Baker. It is reqeusted that family and friends meet at the cemetery by 10:55 am.

Kathy Burchett Frazier
Kingsport - Kathy Burchett Frazier, 41, Kingsport, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Thursday (April 19, 2007) at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Flora (Clark) Burchett.
She is survived by her daughter, Amber Burchett, Kingsport; two sons, Jeffery Burchett, Chris Burchett and wife Cindy, all of Kingsport; grandchildren, Daron Burchett, Bryson Burchett, Jayden Burchett, Kierra Burchett, Gabriel Burchett; two sisters, Teresa Meade, Bristol, Tenn., Deborah Fields and husband Larry, Kingsport; four brothers, Billy Burchett, Randy Burchett, Tim Burchett, Tommy Burchett and wife Lequata, all of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday (April 22, 2007) at Statzer cemetery, Hiltons, Va., with Pastor Kyle Falin officiating. Family will meet at the cemetery at 1:55 p.m. Sunday.

Janice Carolyn Phillips
Kingsport - Janice Carolyn (Clark) Phillips, 64, Kingsport, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday (April 18, 2007) at her residence following a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Coeburn, Va., May 20, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Ervin "Slick" and Jessie (Bond) Clark. Also preceded in death by her son, Larry Phillips; sister, Shirley Clark Rose; brothers, Bill Clark and Carl Edward Clark. She was a member of Bible Way Independent Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Harold L. Phillips, Kingsport; daughter, Karen (Phillips) Crumbley and husband Louie, Atlanta Ga., son, Richard "Bill" Phillips, Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Alma Jean (Clark) Ringley and husband Harold, Coeburn, Va.; brother, Michael Clark and wife Marcia, Knoxville, Tenn.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday (April 19, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Travis Boling officiating.
Music will be provided by the Salley Family Singers.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday (April 20, 2007) at Oak Hill cemetery, Kingsport. The family will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family would like to thank all the healthcare providers for their loving care of Mrs. Phillips.

Mary Lou Daniels
Kingsport - Mary Louella "Lou" (McClellan) Daniels, 54, Kingsport, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday (April 18, 2007) at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn. following a long illness.
Born in Kingsport, Tenn., she had lived in Leesburg, Va. for several years before moving back to Kingsport. She was a member of Eagles Aerie #3141.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ray E. McClellan; step-mother, Healtha Mullins McClellan; and infant sister, Gladys Sue McClellan.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Daniels, of the home; daughter, Linda Daniels, Kingsport; three sons, Jamie Daniels and wife Amanda, Jackson, Tenn., Steven Daniels, Kingsport, Melvin Daniels and wife Jackie, Kingsport; seven grandchildren; mother, Gladys Cole Allison, Mt. Holly, N.C.; three sisters, Jean Anthony and husband Rick, Charlotte, N.C., Brenda Brammer and husband Mark, Mt. Holly, N.C., Tiny Mayberry, Mt. Holly, N.C.; two brothers, Buddy McClellan and wife Brenda, Kingsport, Jerry Allison and wife Vickie, Mt. Holly, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday (April 20, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel, with Brian McClellan officiating.
Music will be provided by Brian and Paula McClellan.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday (April 21, 2007) at Chestnut Flats Church cemetery, Scott County, Va. Family will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Saturday.
The family extends a special thank-you to the staff of ICU and Wilcox Hall at Holston Valley Medical Center for their loving care.
