Lena Danna
BRISTOL, VA - Lena Mae Brown Danna, 80 of Bristol, VA, formerly of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 7, 2006, at the home of her daughter, Melissa D. Roark - Bristol, VA.
She was born in Johnson City, TN and had been a resident of Kingsport for most of her life. She was a nurse for over 32 years, having worked at Munal Clinic in Kingsport and Bristol Nursing Home.
Lena recently accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and wanted everyone to know.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Andrew and Jean Spangler Brown; sisters, Mary Loudy and Sarah A. "Ann" Gensel; brothers, George W. Brown, Jimmy A. Brown and Johnny A. Brown.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa D. Roark and husband Greg of Bristol, VA; a son, Larry K. Danna of Kingsport; grandchildren, Candace M. Roark, Brooke Roark and Preston Danna; sisters, Joan Vaughn and husband H.C. and Jean Gwozdzik all of Kingsport; brothers, Alfred Brown and Ward Brown and wife Joy both of Kingsport; special friends, Dana Barrett of Meadowview, VA and Dru Fleenor of Bristol, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM Friday December 8, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Joe W. Byrd officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Abingdon, VA. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Iva Jean Gilreath
KINGSPORT - Iva Jean Ketron Gilreath , 64, of Kingsport went home to be with the Lord on Thursday night (December 7, 2006) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and retired from the Sullivan County Department of Education (Food Service). Mrs. Gilreath was a member of Hermon United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert E. Ketron; her sister, Thelma Johnson; her grandfather, Norvel Ketron along with her two brothers, Jerry Ketron & Vernon Ketron.
Iva Jean is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Billy T. Gilreath (of the home); her two daughters, Billie Jo Spencer & her husband, Gene, Sallie Newton & her husband, Barry (both of Kingsport); a grandson, Logan Ferguson (Kingsport); three sisters, Ruby Bell & her husband, J.C., Rita Day & her husband, Leon, Terry Childress (all of Kingsport); her seven brothers, Bearl Ketron & his wife, Elsie, Gerald Ketron, Robert Ketron, Paul Ketron, Sammy Ketron, Danny Ketron (all of Kingsport) & David Ketron & his wife, Lisa (Hi Horn, Virginia) along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday (December 10, 2006) from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday (December 10, 2006) at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ray Amos & Rev. Joel Campbell officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted on Monday (December 11, 2006) at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill cemetery. Family & friends wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hermon United Methodist Church cemetery Fund, c/o J. C. (Buck) Hensley, Route 1 Box 267, Hiltons, Virginia 24258 or to the Arthritis Foundation, 1719 West End Avenue #303W, Nashville, TN 37203.

Annie L. Stallard
Kingsport - Annie Laurie Lynn Stallard, 92, came to the day she had lived for at Brookhaven Manor Hospice, Easter Sunday, April 16, 2006.
She was born September 15, 1913 to Lawton and Clara Baskett Lynn in Collins, Georgia and was a graduate of East Tennessee State University.
She was retired from the Sullivan County Educational Department as a Teacher at Lynn Garden Elementary School after over 19 years of service. She was a charter member of the Lynn Garden Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, D. M. Stallard, an infant daughter, Claralyn and brother, Charlie Alexander, (Shellman's Bluff, Ga) and L.J. Lynn (Bath, S.C.) and by an infant granddaughter, Donna Gay Stallard.
Annie is survived by her three sons, Kenny and wife Rosalie, Jack and Joe and Wife Sherry, all of Kingsport; Annie was the proud grandmother of 5 granddaughters, Lee Ann Lewis, Sabrina Martin and husband David, Anissa Kincer all of Kingsport and Tracy Stallard, and Dixie Lopez both of Tampa, Fl along with 11 great -grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Lynn Garden Baptist Church from 5 - 7 pm on Tuesday, April 18, 2006. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the Lynn Garden Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Strickler, Rev. Grady Lee and Rev. Michael Wrye, officiating. Music will be provided by Carroll Hurd and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at the Oak Hill cemetery, Kingsport. Don Mann, Bob Jennings, Jack May, Jimmy Horne, Bill Thurman, and Coy Kindle will serve as pallbearers.
It is requested that the friends meet at the cemetery at 10:55 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lynn Garden Baptist Church, Elevator Fund, 301 May Street, Kingsport, TN 37665.

Betty Jane Roberts
KINGSPORT - Betty Jane Southard Roberts, 62 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 14, 2006 , at her residence and was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, (Kingsport). She was a homemaker and member of Saint Matthews United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband Dale Roberts in 2003; her parents, Henry and Pearl Worfe Southard; a sister, Joan Southard and a brother Clyde Southard.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina Roberts Gragg and husband Scott of Fall Branch; sisters, Lois Carter, Maryetta Russell and Charlotte Isenberg; brothers, Sam Southard and Charles Southard all of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM on Friday December 15, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Louis Weaver and Rev. Bobby Black officiating. Music will be provided by Rose Mary Smith.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday at Oak Hill cemetery. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:55 PM.

Kyle Hager
KINGSPORT – Wannace Kyle Hager, age 60 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord, Saturday morning December 16, 2006, at Holston Valley Medical Center after a period of declining health.
Born December 9, 1946 in Kingsport, he was the son of the late Wannace Kalile Hager and Clara Riner Hager. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of North Kingsport Church of God. Kyle was a special and loving brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his sisters, Darlene Hager and Lorraine Hager Vermillion; a twin brother, Wallace Kalile Hager and wife Vonda and his fiancé Gail Hooven all of Kingsport; nephews, Michael Vermillion and Travis Hager and wife Kristy; his favorite and only niece, Wendy Hager Salyer and husband Jeff and a special great-niece, KaAnna Salyer.
Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM Monday, December 18, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Friends may also call anytime at the home of his brother, Wallace Hager.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor LeBron Palmer and Pastor Leighton Roberts officiating.
Military graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Tuesday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Gate City Post #265 and the TN Army National Guard performing the rites. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:55 PM.

KINGSPORT - L. C. Fields, age 67 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 18, 2006, at his residence. Born in Kingsport, L.C. had lived in Nickelsville, VA until his marriage. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator with the City of Kingsport, retiring after 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Effie Page Fields; sisters, Addie Mae Dean and Myrtle Riner; brothers, Clarence Fields, JP Fields, Guy Fields, Troy Fields, SW Fields and CB Fields.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Fields of the home; daughters, Markalene Earles and husband Joe, Lisa Patton and husband Tom; son Walter Fields and wife Haley all of Kingsport; grandchildren, Kaitlin Earles, Colton Earles, Kayla Fields, Jacob Patton, Lucas Patton; sisters, Peggy Click of Gray and Abbie Sexton and husband Dennis; brothers, Howard Fields and wife Ruth of Nickelsville, John Henry Fields and wife Betty of Mendota; special sisters-in-law Brenda Carr and husband Melvin, and Grada Starnes all of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews and a special family friend Laura Elsner of Germany.
Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, December 21, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor J.W. Depew officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2006 at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Marcus Carr, Mark Starnes, Bobby McConnell, Mike Earles, Tim Earles and David Earles.

Ada "Ruth" Kersey
Kingpsort - Ada "Ruth" Kersey, 75 ,of Kingsport, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday (April 19, 2006) at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born in Rogersville, Ruth had been a resident of Kingsport for most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Kersey, Sr; two daughters, Reva Adams and Charlotte Russ; one son, Walter Kersey, Jr. and her parents, Fred and Jesse Cradic Cross.
Surviving are her daughter, Lisa Harris and husband Victor of Kingsport; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; four sisters, Ola Ward of Rogersville, Ellen Manis of Kingsport, Helen Rose Cross of Rogersville and Venney Gibson of Rogersville along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 - 8 pm on Friday, April 21, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Brad Dennison, officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at the Magnolia cemetery, Rogersville. Pallbearers will be her Grandsons and nephews.
It is requested that the family and friends meet at the cemetery at 10:55 am.
