ALLEN, TX - M. C. Mead, 79 of Allen, TX, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 , at Corinthian Retirement Center in Carrollton, TX.
He was born in Shreveport, LA, later moving to Allen, Texas. He was retired from the U.S. Department of the Navy.
Mr. Mead was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Vonal Curtis Meade; two sons, Marion Steven Mead and Gregory Allen Mead; and his parents, Marion Cowles Mead, Sr. and Iva Pearl Bledsoe Mead.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Kay Mead and husband Floyd of Atlanta, GA; a son, Duane C. Mead and wife Kathy Ruth Cross Mead of Johnson City; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on Sunday, November 5, 2006 at Graceland cemetery in Greeneville, TN with Rev. Mike Anglin officiating.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport, is serving the Mead family.
David Wininger
KINGSPORT, TN - David A. "Goat" Wininger, 46, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 , at Holston Valley Medical Center after a battle with diabetes.
He was born in Kingsport, TN and lived in the Bloomingdale Community. He attended Kingsley Elementary and Ketron High School.
He was preceded in death by his father Garvey E. Wininger.
He is survived by his mother, Maxie Ruth Collins Wininger; sister, Diane Osborne and husband Larry; brother, Tommy Wininger and wife Kathy; nieces Tammie Sluss and Maranda Wininger; Special Great-Niece Aladaisha; and his dog Jake.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm Friday, November 10, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Friends may call anytime at his brother's residence at 516 Chadwell Road.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Joe Hill, officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 11, 2006 at Oak Hill cemetery, Kingsport, TN. Those who wish to attend the graveside service will meet at the cemetery by 9:55 am. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

David Michael Boyd
Kingsport - David Michael Boyd, 53, of Church Hill, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, (April 12, 2006) at Brookhaven Manor, Kingsport.
He was born in Long Beach, CA and had lived in this area since 1990. He served in the U.S. Army and is of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Texas Boyd, Sr.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda D. Boyd of the home; his twin daughters, Pikki Boyd and Via Boyd both of California and daughter, Steffanie Boyd of Washington; step-daughter, Tina Meza and husband Roberto of Seymore, TN; his son, Jack Falin, Jr. and wife Juanita of Rogersville; mother, Ruth Samonis Boyd of Backer City, Oregon; Step-Mother, Mildred Boyd of Church Hill; five grandchildren; one sister, Susan Quigley of Arizona; three brothers, Paul T. Boyd, Jr. of TX, Alex Boyd of CA and Bob Boyd of Mt. Carmel along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 1 - 2 pm on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at the Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Alvin Skelton,officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Hill cemetery, Kingsport. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post # 3 and Post #265. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to extend an special thank you to the doctors and staff of the Brookhaven Manor and to Fran Cook of Adventa Hospice.

John Day
KINGSPORT, TN - John Edward (Pap) Day, 71, of Kingsport, TN passed away at 11:15 pm on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at Indian Path Medical Center.
He was the owner and operator of John Day Plumbing and Excavating.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Audrey Vickers Thacker and a sister, Barbara Harvey.
Mr. Day is survived by his wife Sylvia Christian Day of Kingsport; son John Lynn Day and wife, Christy of Kingsport; step-daughters Sherri and Rhonda Dickenson of Kingsport; step-sons Rick Dickenson, Gary Cole and wife Tammy all of Kingsport; grandchildren John, Andy, and William Day; Step-grandchildren Robby Hughes; Chris, Ryan, and Michael Brooks; Heather Burke; Kaylynn, Kerri, and Abbie Dickenson; Brandi and Brandon Cole; sisters Julie Mosley of Nashville, TN and Betty Mayes of Michigan; several nieces and nephews, and special pets Blackie and Baby Oscar.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Phil Hoskins, officiating. Music will be provided by the Bishop Family Singers.
Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, November 12, 2006 at Oak Hill cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12 Noon Sunday. Pallbearers will be David Spears, Dan Spears, John Spears, Charlie Franklin, Gary Davis, and James Waycaster.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sullivan County Humane Society, 2141 Idle Hour Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.

KINGSPORT, TN - Clyde O. Salyer, 74, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 13, 2006, at his residence following a brief illness.
Clyde was born in Clintwood, VA and had been a resident of Kingsport since 1974. He was retired from Chrysler Corporation and attended Blountville Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deloris Gail Salyer; parents, Johnny Blaine and Blanche (Stanley) Salyer; sisters, Shirley Mullins and Ambie Cox; brother, Mark Salyer; half-sisters, Goldie Johnson and Maxie Sharrah; half-brother, Blaine Salyer
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo (Moore) Salyer of the home; sons Billy Wayne Salyer and wife Judy, Gary Dean Salyer and wife Nancy, and Jeffrey Clyde Salyer and wife Wendi all of Kingsport; daughters, Linda Darlene Bridger and husband Paul of Genor, IL, Anita Jo Joyner and husband Steve of Fall Branch; grandchildren, Kristen Nicole Keene, Shannon Joe Keene, Shawn Salyer, Jennifer Salyer, Jason Salyer, KaAnna Michelle Salyer, Sandra Hobbs, and Jeffrey Bridger, Debra Mathis; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Geraldine Charles of Chester, VA, Mary Barnett Flemming of Elkton, MD, and Audrey Parkay of Cumberland Gap, VA; brother, Richard Grant Salyer of Clintwood, VA; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
Pallbearer will be Dallas Gobel, Humphrey Germagian, B. J. Mullins, Eddie Roberts, Wallace Hagar, and Robert Moore.
Those wishing to attend the graveside services are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:55 pm.

Georgia Boggs
KINGSPORT, TN - Georgia Lee (Hall) Boggs, 88, of Claremont Street, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord at 7:00 pm on Monday, November 13, 2006 at her home. She was of the Apostolic faith.
Mrs. Boggs was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Rust Hall; husband, Roma Keith Boggs; daughter, Mary Alice Clemons; sisters, Lula Franklin and Florence Bear; brothers, Jim Hall, Paul Hall, and an infant brother; three grandchildren, Mark King,Joni and Amber Clemons.
She is survived by her daughter, Louise Overbay and husband Wayne of Kingsport, Linda King of Kingsport, and Ann Hayes of Newport; sons Larry Boggs and wife Ethel of Kingsport, Michael Boggs and wife Faye of Johnson City; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; sister Ruth McCloud of Kingsport; three brothers, Ed Hall, Sherman Hall, and Tom Hall all of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Fred Greer, officiating. Music will be provided by Joann Compton and Donna Gilliam.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 16, 2006, at Oak Hill cemetery, Kingsport, TN. Family and friends who wish to attend the graveside services are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:00 pm Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Brian King, Greg Overbay, Gary Boggs, Joshua Lawson, Shane Boggs, and Kenneth Boggs. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Greer and Wayne Overbay.

Patrick Long
KNOXVILLE, TN - Patrick Paul Long, age 29 the loving son of Sim Perry and Donna Gail White Long of Athens, TN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 17, 2006 , at Park West Medical Center in Knoxville.
Born in Hopkinsville, KY, a graduate of McMinn County High School, Patrick had lived in Athens, TN before moving to Knoxville, where he had worked for Goody's Family Clothing. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert Scholze Long and Barbara Watkins Long.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Paul and Jean White of Kingsport; his aunt, Melinda Trotter of Nashville; uncles, Michael Long and wife Phyllis of Dayton, TN and Jim White and Penny French of Knoxville and several cousins.
Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM on Friday, November 24, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jeff Wallen officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday at Oak Hill cemetery. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:55 PM.
