Jean Tompkins Arnold, 90, of Oak Ridge, died Monday, Nov. 17, 1997, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Arnold is survived by her husband, William A. Arnold; and two daughters, Helen A. Herron and her husband, David, of Indianapolis, Ind., and Elizabeth Arnold of Springfield, Mo.
No service will be held.
A private burial will be held at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

Stephen Lamonte Weaver
Native of Oak Ridge
Stephen Lamonte Weaver, 23, of Clinton, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 1997, at Roane Medical Center in Harriman.
Mr. Weaver was born in Oak Ridge on May 11, 1974. He was the son of Dianna S. Weaver of Knoxville and Steve D. Weaver of Clinton.
He was employed at Pizza Hut in Oak Ridge.
Mr. Weaver was a member of Asbury Methodist Church in Clinton.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Menes D. Weaver of Oak Ridge; a brother, Kimmy L. Weaver of Knoxville; a half-brother, Billy Paul Brown of Clinton; grandparents, James and Wilma Moore of Knoxville, and Clarence Ferguson of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Jackie Bailey of Oak Ridge was considered a special friend.
His other grandparents, Rena Bell Weaver and Willie Leroy Baker, died earlier.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at Asbury Methodist Church in Clinton with the Rev. Alvin Smith, the Rev. Joseph Weaver and the Rev. William Caldwell officiating.
Burial will be at the Weaver Family cemetery in Clinton.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Robert H. Nagel
National Tau Beta Pi officer
Robert H. Nagel, 79, of Knoxville, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 1997, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville.
Mr. Nagel was the national secretary-treasurer and editor of Tau Beta Pi engineering honorary from 1947 to 1982. He was secretary-treasurer emeritus for the honorary group.
He was a certified professional engineer and an assistant civil engineer for Tennessee Valley Authority from 1939-1943, and assistant professor of civil engineering at the University of Tennessee from 1943-44.
Mr. Nagel also served as secretary-treasurer of the International Association of Torch Clubs in Knoxville from 1968-1976, and he became a member of the Service Club of Retired Executives (SCORE) in 1986.
He was a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, a member of the Technical Society of Knoxville, the Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers and the Cornell University Society of Engineers.
Mr. Nagel was active in the National Association of College Honor Societies and was a member of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity, Alpha Kappa Mu and Omicron Delta Kappa.
He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and attended First Baptist Church, both in Knoxville.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Nagel; two daughters, Virginia Culver and her husband, David, of Columbus, Ohio, and Cynthia Kelly and her husband, John, of Troy, Ohio; a son, Robert D. Nagel of Columbia, S.C.
Mr. Nagel is also survived by two stepsons, David Roller and his wife, Becca, of Alabama, and Mark Roller of Knoxville; a stepdaughter, Rebecca Roller of Knoxville; a cousin, Virginia Lawless of New Jersey; and by four grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Knoxville.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after the service in the Blue Room of the church.

Reba Mae Phillips
Former pharmacy clerk
Reba Mae Robinson Phillips, 64, of Lake City, died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital in Knoxville.
Mrs. Phillips formerly was a clerk at Herrin's Pharmacy in Lake City.
She was born in Scott County on June 6, 1933, the daughter of Ezra and Artie Strunk Robinson. She was a Baptist.
She was the widow of Ray D. Phillips.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by a daughter, Debbie Brown and her husband, Arnold, of LaFollette; two sons, Terry W. Phillips of Heiskell and Randy Phillips and his wife, Karen, of Lake City; three grandchildren, Regina Phillips, Savanna Phillips and Terry Wayne Phillips; and a brother, Dr. D.T. Robinson and his wife, Donna, of Asheville, N.C.
She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Christine Robinson of Detroit, Mich., and Eloise Robinson of Lake City.
She considered several residents of Lake City Health Care to be special friends.
The funeral was held Saturday, Nov. 29, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. George Asbury officiating.
A graveside service was held Sunday, Nov. 30, at Leach cemetery in Lake City.

Juanita Shaw Osteen, 91, of Ridgeland, Miss., formerly of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 1997, at University Medical Center in Jackson, Miss., of heart failure.
A graveside service was held this morning, Dec. 1, at Newton Masonic cemetery in Newton, Miss., with the Rev. Charles Douglas officiating.

Wilson Russell Mosley Jr.

Wilson Russell Mosley Jr., 58, of Selma, Ala., died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at a hospital in Selma.
Mr. Mosley was a former resident of Oak Ridge. He was born in Mississippi and was the son of Wilson and Mary Mosley, now of Oak Ridge.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Bobbie Mosley; a daughter, Susan Cantrell and her husband, Kenny, of Selma; a son, John Mosley and his wife, Lisa, of Montgomery, Ala.; a sister, Dianne Spink and her husband, Jim, of Lewiston, Idaho; a brother, Donald Mosley and his wife, Kitty, of Montgomery; and by 7 grandchildren, 3 nieces and 1 nephew.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Central Standard Time, Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Church Street United Methodist Church in Selma with the Rev. J. Douglas Williams and the Rev. Alan McBride officiating.
Burial will be at New Live Oak cemetery in Selma.

Linton C. Johnson
Retired ORNL physicist
Linton C. Johnson, 76, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mr. Johnson was retired as a health physicist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He began work in ORNL's Health Physics Division in 1946 and continued in several positions of increasing responsibility until his retirement in 1986 as department head.
He was born in Baxley, Ga., on April 8, 1921. He was the son of Clinton O. and Mamie Aldridge Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a 1944 graduate of Berry College in Georgia with a bachelor of science degree in physics and math.
He was a first lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and was on active duty in the Pacific and in Japan from 1944 to 1946. After he retired from ORNL, Mr. Johnson continued to enjoy gardening, fishing and Berry College alumni activities.
He was a member of Kern Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Grace M. Johnson; six children, Sharon May, Patricia Halsey and Carol Ashworth, all of Oak Ridge, Joan Bates of Lawrenceburg, Norris D. Johnson of Aiken, S.C., and R. Bruce Johnson of Tompkinsville, Ky.; three sisters, Mary Hawn of Clinton, Leotis Muller of Sarasota, Fla., and Lucille Medders of Baxley, Ga.; and a brother, Dupree Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla.
Mr. Johnson is also survived by 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Sunday, Nov. 30, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. E.C. Vestal officiating. Burial was at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

Betty Grubbs Coltman

Betty A. Grubbs Coltman, 74, of Knoxville, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville.
Mrs. Coltman was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Oak Ridge.
She was born in Baltimore, Md., on July 16, 1923, the daughter of Reginald R. and Mae Lee Grubbs.
She was a member of the Lady of the Elks, the St. Lucie Guild and the Karns Volunteer Fire Department.
Mrs. Coltman is survived by her husband, Ralph Coltman; two daughters, Susan Sanderson and her husband, David, of Savannah, Ga., and Diane Moore and her husband, Alan, of Atlanta, Ga.; a son, Richard L. Coltman and his wife, Evelyn, of Waynesville, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Amber Morgan, Kinneil Coltman, Brian Moore, Davy Moore, Katie Moore, Kelly Moore, Neena Sanderson and Chip Sanderson; and by two great-grandchildren, Madison Morgan and Bailey Moore.
The funeral was to be held at 10 this morning, Dec. 1, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Woods officiating. Burial was to follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

Lawrence Ralph Alley
Retired carpenter
Lawrence Ralph Alley, 81, of Andersonville, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 1997, at his home.
Mr. Alley was retired as a carpenter with Joseph Construction Co. in Knoxville.
He was born in Anderson County on Aug. 23, 1916, the son of Thomas and Etta Worthington Alley. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Alley was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church in Clinton.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Gray Alley; a daughter, Gail Hutson and her husband, Lynn, of Andersonville; a son, Larry Alley and his wife, Mary Martha, of Andersonville; a brother, Warren Alley and his wife, Nancy, of Clinton; two grandchildren, Abbey Hutson and Bethany Alley; and by several nieces and nephews.
Three sisters, Lily Sams, Gertrude Alley and Ruth Rapier, and four brothers, Zelmer Alley, Claude Alley, Clifton Alley and Fletcher Alley, are deceased.
The funeral was held Saturday, Nov. 29, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Mark Keith officiating.
A graveside service was held Sunday, Nov. 30, at Norris Memorial Gardens.
Robert Bruce Strickland
Retired Y-12 dispatcher
Robert Bruce Strickland, 71, of Clinton, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 1997, at his home.
Mr. Strickland was a retired dispatcher. He had worked at the Y-12 Plant at Martin Marietta Energy Systems.
He was born in Belmont, Miss., on Aug. 4, 1926, the son of Spencer and Cathaline Moore Strickland.
Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife, Lauvena W. Strickland; a son, Donnie Wyrick and his wife, Mary, of Baltimore, Md.; two grandchildren, Erica and Brandon Wyrick of Baltimore; a sister, Nellie Strickland of Alexandria, Va.; and by several nieces and nephews.
A son, Terry Strickland, died earlier.
A Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at McCarty Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
