Brother of Ruby Murph
Harry W. Baldwin of Columbia, S.C., died on Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in Columbia.
Mr. Baldwin was the brother of Ruby B. Murph of Oak Ridge.
He is also survived by two sons, Delaine Baldwin of Lugoff, S.C., and Gary Mack Baldwin of Florida; and three other sisters, Mary Gibson of Myrtle Marsh, S.C. and Lucille Phillips and Margaret Jones, also of South Carolina.
A graveside service was held Sunday, Jan. 9, at Fox Hill Church Cemetery in Lugoff, S.C.
Jerry I. May
Clinton resident
Jerry I. May of 230 Cumberland View Road in Clinton died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospice in Knoxville.
Mr. May is survived by two sisters, Joan Reed of Clinton and Carolyn Seivers of Murfreesboro; two brothers, Larry May and his wife Pam, of Sunbright, and Bobby R. May of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.
Delores Bradley and her family and the employees of the Village Restaurant in Oak Ridge were among Mr. May's many loving and caring friends, his family said.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Joe May; his parents, Joe and Stella May; and by a brother and sister, George May and Barbara Fannin Burnett.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Anderson Memorial Gardens, 640 Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to St. Mary's Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938.

Odell Hood Jones
Mother of Mona Leake
Odell Hood Jones, 91, of Maryville, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at Asbury Acres Healthcare Center in Maryville.
Mrs. Jones was a former teacher and had attended Western Teachers College in Bowling Green, Ky.
She was a charter member of Seymour United Methodist Church and later became a member of First United Methodist Church in Maryville.
Mrs. Jones' family said she was an avid reader and an outdoors person, as well as a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
She was the widow of Lenneth Lysle Jones. The couple had been married for 51 years at the time of his death.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughters, Mona Leake of Oak Ridge, Carolyn Williams (Mrs. Jim) of Signal Mountain and Pat Raines (Mrs. Dennis) of Maryville.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sherry Leake Donald and her husband, Dale, of Knoxville, Cynthia Leake Weatherly and her husband, Jim, of Brentwood, Leslie Thomas and Lynnette Alston and her husband, Michael, all of Signal Mountain, Todd Raines and his wife, Diane, of Allison Park, Pa., Drew Raines of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Beth Raines of Maryville; her great-grandchildren, Brighton Weatherly, Zack Weatherly, Anna Alston, John Alston, Ashley Marie Donald, and Blake Donald and his wife, Ashley; and one great-great-grandchild, Blakeleigh MacKenzie Donald.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Ollie Biggerstaff Hood, and by a son-in-law, Bill Leake.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Asbury Acres and United Methodist Women's Circle No. 6.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at First United Methodist Church in Maryville with the Rev. Darris Doyal and the Rev. James R. Green officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Central Time on Sunday, Feb. 17, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Thompkinsville, Ky. The pallbearers will be the grandsons and great-grandsons.

Nicholas Rose Marler

Nicholas Rose Marler, 65, of Vonore, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at his home.
Mr. Marler was a retired engineer, who worked with the Department of Energy and the Navy Nuclear Program. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Dorchester Masonic Lodge in Charleston, S.C.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Marler.
Mr. Marler is survived by his wife of 19 years, Sue Poston Marler; three children, Heather Brandeis White of Washington, D.C., Mark Edward Marler of Glastenberry, Conn., and Sherry Marler Rabon of Charleston, S.C.; five grandchildren, Mantha Elizabeth Rabon, Timothy Branden Rabon, Anson Tobias Marler, Sophia Cecelia Marler and Clara Isabelle Marler; his mother, Anne Weaver Broscious; and his half sister, Tammy Marler Wood.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Tellico Village Community Church with the Rev. Dr. Robert Puckett and the Rev. Michael Neveling officiating. Masonic and military rites will be conducted.
A reception will follow in the Church Christian Life Center.

John W. Taylor Jr.
Retired maintenance supervisor
John W. Taylor Jr., 75, of Blockhouse Valley Road, Clinton, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mr. Taylor had retired after 17 years as maintenance supervisor for the Clinton Housing Authority.
Earlier he had spent 15 years working for Parker Furniture Co. in Clinton.
He was the son of Ethel and John W. Taylor Sr. He was a U.S. Army veteran of both World War II and the Korean War.
He attended Ridgeview Baptist Church.
Mr. Taylor is survived by four daughters, Barbara Morehead of Rogersville, Patricia Sharp and her husband, Gary, and Connie Fain and her husband, Bobby, all of Clinton, and Linda Keen and her husband, Glen, of Heiskell; two sons, Troy Lynn Phillips and Michael Phillips and his wife, Connie, all of Clinton; and three brothers, Bill Taylor, C.J. Taylor and the Rev. Jack Taylor, all of Clinton.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His parents and his wife, Jo Ann Phillips Taylor, died earlier.
The funeral will be held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Don Hensley and the Rev. Jack Taylor officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Jarnigan Chapel Cemetery. Members of the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites with full honors.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Jennie 'Mae' Guy

Jennie "Mae" Guy Long, 68, of Clinton, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at her home.
Mrs. Long was a homemaker and member of Black Oak Baptist Church in Clinton.
She was the daughter of William C. and Hattie Boling Long, who are deceased, and the widow of James Long.
Mrs. Long is survived by six daughters, Jacqueline Dyer and her husband, Franklin Dyer, of Lenoir City, and Rosa Brooks, Cleo Robbins and her husband, Charlie Robbins, Mary Sprouse and her husband, Willard Sprouse, Dorothy Brooks and her husband, Franklin "Jerry" Brooks, and Janie Jones and her husband, Joseph Jones Jr., all of Clinton; and five sons, James Buddy Long and his wife, Schay Long, of Corryton, and Nelson Long, Rodger Long, Clifton Long and Robert Long and his wife, Linda Long, all of Clinton.
She is also survived by three sisters, Mildred Goddard, Rosa Lee Vowell and Alma Billie Duncan, all of Clinton; her brother, James William Guy of Bluff City; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews.
Her sister, Mary Williams, and two granddaughters, Edna Brooks and Summer Long, died earlier.
The funeral was held Sunday, Feb. 14, at Black Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Bright officiating.
Burial followed at Long Cemetery in the Dutch Valley community.

Charline Gagle Adam
Former Oak Ridge resident
Charline Gagle Adam, 92, of Greensboro, N.C., and formerly of Oak Ridge, died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at the Moses Cone Extended Care Center in Greensboro.
Until her recent move to Greensboro, Mrs. Adam had been a resident of Oak Ridge since 1953. She was a member of First Baptist Church and had worked in the church's nursery for more than 30 years.
Mrs. Adam was a sales representative for Avon for 37 years and was a member of Avon's President's Club.
Born in Middlesboro, Ky., on Aug. 16, 1906, she was the daughter of William Henry and Mary Rosina Steele Gagle.
Her first husband, James Hearon, died in 1932, and her second husband, Harold Adam, died in 1969.
Mrs. Adam is survived by her daughter, Karol Adam Neufeld and her husband, John, of Greensboro; two sons, James Creighton Hearon of Leavenworth, Kan., and William Seger Hearon and his wife, Wendy, of Greensboro; and her stepdaughter, Laura Adam Mastropasqua and her husband, Dominic, of Bowling Green, Ky.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Michael Hearon and his wife, Kim, of Powell, Karla Hearon of Greeneville, Paul Neufeld, Adam Neufeld and Margot Neufeld, all of Greensboro, Joe Mastropasqua and his wife, Connie, of Murfreesboro, and Cheryl M. Whitfield and her husband, Warren, of Bowling Green; and three great-grandchildren, Brian Whitfield and Christopher Whitfield, both of Murfreesboro, and Michael Mastropasqua of Bowling Green.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, Feb. 15, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Larry Dipboye officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the mortuary.

Natalie Hughett Potter
Former Oak Ridge resident
Natalie Hughett Potter, 81, of Cleveland, Tenn., died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at Cleveland Community Hospital.
Mrs. Potter lived in Oak Ridge from 1947 to 1977 and was a member of Central Baptist Church.
She was born in Helenwood on Jan. 11, 1918, the daughter of James Pryor and Mary Vanill Chambers Hughett.
Mrs. Potter had worked at the Dalton Golf and Country Club in Dalton, Ga., for 25 years. Her hobbies included collecting antique tools and dishes, and her biggest interests were working and raising her children, the family said.
She was the widow of Ulys G. Potter, who died Dec. 25, 1968.
Mrs. Potter is survived by two daughters, Amanda Leigh Mason of Clearwater, Fla., and Pamela Sue Wofford and her husband, Charles Gordon, of Crossville; two sons, John Mark Potter and his wife, Myra Elizabeth, of Oak Ridge, and Jerry Thomas Potter and his wife, Mary Byers, of Johnson City; and her sister, Blanche West of Petersburg, Va.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Terry Potter of Evansville, Ind., Rebekah D. Mason of Clearwater, Sheila Ruth Smith Boles and James A. Sullivan, both of Knoxville, Myra Allene Hammond of Oak Ridge, Edward R. Wofford and Brenda S. Wofford, both of Crossville, and Lisa Jo Delaney of Karns; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Allen Boles, Whitney Elizabeth Delaney, Nathan Allen Delaney and Erica Kimber Boles; and by several nieces and nephews.
Her sister, Imogene Benton, and three brothers, Archie Hughett, John Hughett and Tom Hughett, died earlier.
The funeral will be held at 8:30 tonight, Feb. 15, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Dan Haskins officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
