William Tracy Mitchell, 82, of Oak Ridge, died Saturday, July 25, 1998, at Baptist North Hospital in Cumming, Ga.
Mr. Mitchell was retired as an R.E. Development mechanic in the Metal Preparation Division of the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant. He began his employment with Union Carbide Nuclear Division on Dec. 21, 1943, and retired on March 31, 1978.
Born in Gaylesville, Ala., on Aug. 2, 1915, he was the son of James Luther and Lilly Belle Tracy Mitchell.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by three sons, Bobby Mitchell of Chattanooga, Fred R. Mitchell and his wife, Libby, of Cumming, and Bill T. Mitchell and his wife, Terry, of Acworth, Ga.; a sister, Lucy Owen of Knoxville; and three brothers, H.P. Mitchell of Palatka, Fla., Jack Mitchell of Atlanta, Ga., and Dwight Mitchell of Tallahassee, Fla.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, David Mitchell and his wife, Carol, of Hartwell, Ga., Dena Barber and her husband, Mark, of Stone Mountain, Ga., Denise Haynes and her husband, Mike, and Preston Mitchell and his wife, Dena, all of Atlanta, Brad Mitchell and his wife, Nattlie, of Acworth, Chan Mitchell of Blue Ridge, Ga., Michael Mitchell and his wife, Vicki, of Loganville, Ga., Mindy O'Conner and her husband, Kelly, of Denver, Colo., Angela Mitchell of Nashville and Christopher Richardson of Charlotte, N.C.; and 13 great-grandchildren.
His wife, Ruth Carter Mitchell, died April 15, 1998, and a sister, Madeline Frazier, also died earlier.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Bob Gray officiating.
Burial will be at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, July 28, at the mortuary.

Mildred Louise Williams, 67, of Lake City, died Sunday, July 19, 1998, at Windwood Health & Rehabilitation Center in Clinton.
Mrs. Williams was a member of Guiding Star Baptist Church of Lake City.
She was born in Anderson County on July 16, 1931, the daughter of Luke and Parley Buena Loy Elliott, both now deceased.
Mrs. Williams was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and working in her garden and her flowers, her family said.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Fred Williams; a son, Carl Edward Williams and his wife, Ailene, of Andersonville; a sister, Mable Ruth New and her husband, Patrick, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a brother, Authur Elliott and his wife, Emmia Jean, of Lake City; three grandsons, Ricky Williams and his wife, Kimberly, of Lake City, Bryson Williams and his wife, Kara, of Clinton, and Jason Williams of Andersonville; a great-grandson, Jonathan Andrew Williams of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, a sister and two brothers, Anna Mae Hayes, Morgan Edward Elliott and Elmer Elliott, died earlier.
The funeral was held Tuesday night, July 21, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with the Rev. Clifford Fraker and the Rev. Verlin Langford officiating.
A graveside service was held Wednesday morning, July 22, at Red Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Andersonville.
Roy Lee Wilson

Roy Lee Wilson, 70, of Clinton, died Sunday, July 26, 1998, at Windwood Health & Rehabilitation Center in Clinton.
Mr. Wilson was retired from the U.S. post office in Clinton, where he had worked for many years.
He was born in Anderson County on Dec. 8, 1927, the son of John and Ruby Brummitt Wilson, both now deceased. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Wilson was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church of Clinton.
He is survived by two daughters, Anna Ridings and her husband, James, of Clinton, and Donna Simpson and her husband, Kelvin, of Knoxville; two sons, Barry Wilson of Clinton and Richard Wilson and his wife, Linda, of Houston, Texas; and by six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Betty Johnson Wilson of Clinton is his former wife.
The funeral will be held at 8:30 tonight, July 28, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Joe Bridges officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, at Black Oak Baptist Church cemetery in Clinton.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
Herman Luther Grantham

Herman Luther Grantham, 70, of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, July 30, 1998, at his home.
Mr. Grantham was a U.S. Air Force veteran of 20 years and served during the Vietnam War era.
He was born in Hanceville, Ala., on Oct. 19, 1927, the son of Homer F. and Catherine Pickelmyer Grantham, both now deceased.
Mr. Grantham had lived in Oak Ridge for the past 15 years and in Georgia for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Claudia Jeanette Grantham of Marlow, Okla.; two sons, Terry L. Grantham of Marlow, Okla., and Gary W. Grantham of Del City, Okla.
Patrick Byrd and Jason Byrd, both of Oak Ridge, and Tina Edwards of Clinton are special friends who were considered family by Mr. Grantham. Children he considered his grandchildren are Jason Anthony Byrd, Jonathan Edwards, James Edwards Jr., Michael King, Steve Fritts and Patrick Byrd Jr.
In addition to his parents, a sister and four brothers died earlier.
A graveside service was to be held at 10 this morning, Aug. 3, at Tennessee Veterans cemetery in Knoxville.

Laura Ann Taylor, 81, of Harriman, died Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, at her home.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Oliver Springs on May 25, 1917, the daughter of John and Mary Raby Tuck. She was the widow of Gomaze Taylor Sr.
She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary of Harriman.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by five daughters, Shirley Taylor of Oakland, Calif., Mary Morgan of Oliver Springs and Helen Daugherty, Peggy Underwood and Ruth Scarbrough, all of Harriman; and six sons, William Thomas "Red" Taylor, Jerry Wayne Taylor, Charles Phillips Jr. and David L. Phillips, all of Harriman, Larry David Taylor of Washburn, and Charles Leonard Taylor of Chapel Hill, N.C.
She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Three other children, Anna Marie Taylor, Gomaze Taylor Jr. and Billy Joe Taylor, died earlier.
The funeral was held Saturday, Sept. 26, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. David Morgan and the Rev. Ralph Wilson officiating.
A graveside service was held Sunday, Sept. 27, at Elverton cemetery.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Robbins cemetery.

Blanche Agnes Coffey McMillan, 72, of Oak Ridge, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mrs. McMillan was retired from Oak Ridge schools where she had worked as a cook at Oak Ridge High School.
She was born in Athens, Tenn., on April 20, 1925, the daughter of Edward and Stella Womac Coffey. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
She was the widow of Robert E. McMillan, who died Nov. 14, 1997.
Mrs. McMillan is survived by two sons, William McMillan and his wife, Shirley, of Clinton, and Ralph McMillan and his wife, Betty, of Oliver Springs; two granddaughters, Amy McMillan of Clinton and Michelle McMillan Boles and her husband, Michael, of Soddy Daisy; a grandson, Michael McMillan and his wife, Pamela, of Charlotte, N.C.; and a great-grandson, Zachary McMillan of Charlotte.
She is also survived by a sister, Lilly Teaster of Knoxville; three brothers, Arthell Coffey and Wayne Coffey, both of Athens, and Ronnie Coffey of Murfreesboro; and by a sister-in-law she considered a special friend, Lula Bell Henderson of Athens.
Her stepmother, Grace Coffey, and a brother, Hoover Coffey, died earlier.
The funeral will be at 8 tonight, Feb. 9, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Dick Baker and the Rev. David McPherson officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the mortuary.

Myrtle Hammonds Robinette, 71, of 121 Newport Drive, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Robinette was a member of Robertsville Baptist Church.
She was born in Old Fort, N.C., on March 10, 1926, the daughter of Benjamin Hammonds and Mary Thomas Hammonds. She had been a resident of Oak Ridge since 1945, moving here from Newport.
Mrs. Robinette was an avid mall walker, the family said.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Frank Robinette; two daughters, Theresa Calfee of Cleveland and Frankie Kay Jones of Oak Ridge; two sisters, Shirley Boles of Old Fort and Pearl Harris of Weaverville, N.C.; two brothers, Earl McPeters of Old Fort and Ray McPeters of Asheville, N.C.; four grandchildren, Susan Muhonen and her husband, Luke, Amy Calfee, and Sarah Calfee, all of Cleveland, and Laura K. Jones of Oak Ridge; and by several nieces and nephews.
Friends Mrs. Robinette considered special are Terry and Debbie Mullins, Jay and Bernice Stevens and Irene Hayes, all of Oak Ridge, and the Rev. Orville and Mildred Sparks of Rockwood.
Two sisters, Wanda Ryer and Marie Harris, and a brother, Donald Hammonds, died earlier.
The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Michael Prince and the Rev. Orville Sparks officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
Roy Lee Sampsel

Roy Lee Sampsel, 76, of Coalfield, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mr. Sampsel retired in 1983 after working for 34 years as an electrician with Union Carbide Nuclear Division.
He was born in Harlan County, Ky., on Sept. 25, 1921, the son of Charles Arthur and Mary Lou Jackson Sampsell, both now deceased. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served as a chief torpedo officer in the submarine service division during World War II.
Mr. Sampsel had been a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Coalfield for more than 50 years and was ordained a deacon at the church in 1954.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Dean Sampsel; three sons, R.L. "Sam" Sampsel and Dick Sampsel and his wife, Dottie, all of Knoxville, and Rodney Sampsel and his wife, Diane, of Humble, Texas; a sister, Lahoma Ray of Harriman; a brother, Elbert Sampsell and his wife, Betty, of Hopewell, Va.; and by six grandchildren, four great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Charles Sampsell, died earlier.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, Feb. 9, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Coalfield with the Rev. Mack Smith officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Estes cemetery in Coalfield.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 tonight at the church.
