Luria "Bird" Branham of Andersonville died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at Mariner Health of Norris.

Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is handling arrangements, which were incomplete this morning.

Ruth Mitchell, 79, of Oak Ridge, died at 11:25 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Weatherford Mortuary is handling arrangements, which were incomplete this morning.

Jamie Potts
Oak Ridge resident

Jamie Potts, 47, of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, April 14, 1998, at his home.

Mr. Potts is survived by his wife, Jane Partridge Potts, and his daughters, Jennifer Potts and Kimberly Potts.

A private memorial service was to be held at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Henderlight officiating.

Burial was to be at Woodland cemetery in London, Ontario, Canada.

The family requests any memorials be in the form of donations to a charity of the donor's choice.

Weatherford Mortuary is handling the arrangements.

William Oscar Bailey
Retired Wolf Tree employee

William Oscar Bailey, 59, of Clinton, died Monday, April 27, 1998, at Mountain View Health Care Center in LaFollette.

Mr. Bailey was retired from Wolf Tree Experts in Knoxville.

He was born in Anderson County on Feb. 2, 1939.

Mr. Bailey is survived by his mother, Irene Bailey of Clinton; three sisters, Mary Ann Bailey, Pauline Lowe and her husband, Tommy, and Ruby Webber and her husband, Oscar, all of Clinton; a brother, J.B. Bailey and his wife, Diane, of Clinton; a brother-in-law, Donald Parrott of Clinton; and by several nieces and nephews.

His father, Colt Hoskins, and another sister, Helen Parrott, both died earlier.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 1, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Russell Massingill officiating.

Burial will follow at Farmers Grove cemetery in Clinton.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at the funeral home.

Eula Mae Copeland
Pine Ridge Baptist member

Eula Mae Copeland, 79, of Clinton, died Tuesday, April 28, 1998, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Mrs. Copeland was a charter member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church of Clinton. Over the years she had enjoyed singing in her church and in various other churches with her family, who said she loved people and witnessed to everyone she came in contact with concerning her experience with Christ.

She had worked for many years at Magnet Hosiery Mill as an inspector before raising a family of eight.

Mrs. Copeland is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dewey Ralph Copeland; a daughter, Rebecca Fraker and her husband, Ernie, of Clinton; and seven sons, Homer Copeland and his wife, Velma, Johnny Copeland and his wife, Beverly, and the Rev. Joseph Copeland and his wife, Sue, all of Clinton, Robert Copeland and his wife, Cheryl, of Oliver Springs, William Copeland and his wife, Shirlene, of Kingston, Virgle Copeland and his wife, Teresa, of Heiskell, and the Rev. Jerry Copeland and his wife, Gail, of Knoxville.

She is also survived by a sister, Katie Tindell, and her husband, Clifford, of Clinton; three sisters-in-law, Edna Beth White of Clinton, Joyce Kinsella of Knoxville and Ada Anderson of Oneida; and by 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Her mother, Ethel Kesterson White, and two brothers, Robert Kinsella and Junior White, all died earlier.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 1, at Pine Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Clifford Fraker officiating. Friends and family may visit at the church during the hour before the service.

Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Baptist Church cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City.

The family requests any memorials be in the form of donations to Pine Ridge Baptist Church, Old Lake City Highway, Clinton, TN 37716.

Howard Wallace Gragg
Former K-25 worker

Howard Wallace Gragg, 66, of Kingston, died Tuesday morning, April 28, 1998, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Mr. Gragg was an Oak Ridge High School graduate and worked at the Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant before moving to Florida, where for many years he worked in construction.

He was the son of Creston and Dorothy Blevins Gragg, both now deceased. Mr. Gragg was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He attended Cedar Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Gragg is survived by three sons, David Gragg of Orlando, Fla., and Richard Gragg and Michael Gragg and his wife, Jamie, all of Boynton, Fla.; a grandson, Matthew Gragg; two sisters, Dorothy Hanna and Sue Stewart, both of Kingston; a brother, Donald "Sonny" Gragg of Seattle, Wash.; and by several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Jimmy Gragg, died earlier.

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 30, in the chapel of Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

The family requests any memorials be in the form of donations to Methodist Regional Cancer Center, 102 Vermont Ave., Oak Ridge, TN 37830.

Tilda H. Madison
Former restaurant owner

Tilda M. Madison, 89, of Clinton, died Sunday, June 14, 1998, at LaFollette Community Hospital.

Mrs. Madison had owned and operated several restaurants in the Campbell County area.

She was born in Morgan County on Dec. 16, 1908, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Duncan Massengill.

She was the widow of Harvey Madison. She was a Baptist.

Mrs. Madison is survived by three daughters, Joyce Harness of Jacksboro, Merlyn Goodman and her husband, Earl, of Caryville, and Lauvena Strickland of Clinton; three sons, L.T. Wyrick and his wife, Ethel, of Oliver Springs, Harvey Wyrick of Clinton, and Don Wyrick of Caryville; and a sister, Juanita Layman of Ohio.

She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

A sister and seven brothers died earlier.

The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 18, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with the Rev. Carl Bradshaw officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 19, at Jacksboro cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Dossie Estelle Trowbridge
Has local relatives

Dossie Estelle Stephens Trowbridge, 81, of Russellville, died Sunday, June 14, 1998, at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital.

Mrs. Trowbridge was a former resident of LaFollette and the widow of Charles Trowbridge.

She is survived by three children, Edward Trowbridge and his wife, Joyce, of Claxton, Don Trowbridge and his wife, Margie, of Chattanooga, and Annette Epps and her husband, Don, of Russellville; four sisters, Ruby Sharp, Maxine Jeffers and Nila Stegall, all of Oak Ridge, and Lexie Trowbridge of LaFollette; and a brother, A.M. Stephens of Clinton.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Sharon Marrow and her husband, Randy, Eddie Trowbridge, Kristi Anderson and her husband, Joey, Lesa Barrett, Mark Trowbridge and his wife, Mary, Donnette McNabb and her husband, Mike, and Dana Farmer and her husband, Jim; and eight great-grandchildren, Travis and Tyler Marrow, Tiffany, Terica and Alex Trowbridge, Ragan Anderson, Jonathan Barrett and Tobi Trowbridge.

Three brothers died earlier.

The funeral will be at 8 tonight, June 16, in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown with the Rev. George Rawn officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Campbell Memorial Gardens in LaFollette with the Rev. Bob Carroll officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home in Morristown.

The family requests any memorials be in the form of donations to Noe's Chapel United Methodist Church, Pavilion Building Fund, 707 Noe's Chapel Road, Morristown, TN 37814.

Mary Bolinger Ward
Clinch River Baptist member

Mary Magdalene Bolinger Ward, 55, of Reynolds Street, Clinton, died Monday, June 15, 1998, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville.

Mrs. Ward was a member of Clinch River Baptist Church in Lake City.

She was the daughter of Luther and Obedis Bolinger of Clinton.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ward is survived by a daughter, Penny Cantrell and her husband, Brent, of Clinton; and a granddaughter, Maegan Cantrell, also of Clinton.

She is also survived by five sisters, Freddie Queener and her husband, Jimmy, and Reba Jones, all of Clinton, Hazel Brannon and her husband, Tony, of Addison, Ala., Faye Walker and her husband, Michael, of Talladega, Ala., and Alma McClure and her husband, Sam, of Georgia; and five brothers, Horace Bolinger and his wife, Kathleen, Scott Bolinger and his wife, Zelda, Thurman Bolinger, all of Clinton, H.D. Bolinger and his wife, Irene, of Michigan, and Rubin Bolinger and his wife, Mary Ann, of Addison, Ala.; and by several nieces and nephews.

Jo Ann Ray and Janet Russell, both of Clinton, were considered special friends.

The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Jess Ward officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 18, at Clinch River Baptist Church cemetery in Lake City.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Vergie Boshears Foster
Mother of area residents

Vergie E. Boshears Foster, 82, of Wartburg, died at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Mrs. Foster was the widow of Alvin T. Foster.

She was the daughter of Frank and Lillie Ruffner Boshears, now deceased. She attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Mossy Grove.

Mrs. Foster is survived by a daughter, Vickie Lively and her husband, Jimmy, of Wartburg; three sons, James F. Foster and his wife, Dean, of Clinton, Archie T. Foster of Wartburg and Charles Foster and his wife, Shirley, of Coalfield; and a sister, Frankie Boshears of Coalfield.

She is also survived by grandchildren, Jeff Foster of Knoxville, Melanie and Steve Davis, Mike and Sherry Lively, and Brad Lively and his fiancee, Christie Smith, all of Wartburg; great-grandchildren, Kristin Lively of Wartburg and Shannon Foster of Clinton; and by several nieces and nephews.

Don and Louise Smith were considered special friends.

A granddaughter, Angie Foster, a grandson, Donnie Lively, and three sisters, Lavona Davis, Vera Eastridge and Iwada Simmons, died earlier.

The funeral will be at 8 tonight, July 2, in the chapel of Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg with the Rev. Clayton Duncan officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Opal Perry
Former Briceville resident

The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, in the chapel of Cox-Martin Funeral Home in Lake City with the Rev. Rick Teague officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Oak Grove cemetery in Lake City.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
