MILFORD, ROBERT PAUL (BOB), SR. - age 80, of Knoxville, formerly of Oak Ridge, passed away Tuesday morning, July 3, 2001, at Brakebill Nursing Home. Bob was born near Atlantic, Iowa in 1918, and received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University in 1939. He was subsequently employed by the U. S. Engineer Department, the Maytag Co. and E. I. Dupont. Bob entered the U. S. Army in 1944, and was stationed at Oak Ridge, as a member of the Special Engineer Detachment Corps of Engineers. Upon his discharge in 1946, he joined ORNL, where he retired in 1981. Bob was a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Chemical Society, the American Society for Metals, and the Knoxville Men's Garden Club. He was an active member of Bearden United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the church choir, a lay leader and a volunteer in the FISH program. He was one of the organizers of Troop 52 Boy Scouts of America at West Hills School and served as an Asst. Scoutmaster. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Duthie Milford; daughter, Joanne S. Milford; parents, Paul K. Milford and Sarah W. Milford; brother, Donald E. Milford. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Robert P. Milford, Jr. and Sarah Ginsburg Milford of Knoxville; daughters and son-in-law, Marilyn Milford Cooley and Dr. Norvin R. Cooley of Oregon City, Oregon, Dianne E. Milford of Lauderhill, Florida; grandchildren, Andy Milford, Rachel Milford and Melissa Cooley; brother, Kenneth L. Milford of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Memorial service 2 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2001, at the Bearden United Methodist Church with Dr. James S. Pollock officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. MAY, MRS. FERN DYER - age 89, of Dyer Road, Luttrell, passed away Friday, June 29, 2001, at 9:23 p.m. at Baptist Hospital. Member of Rutherford Memorial United Methodist Church, and past Matron of Corryton Chapter #337 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a retired LPN. REED, H. M., SR. - age 77, of Seymour, passed away Monday, July 2, 2001. Mr. Reed was Preceded in death by his first wife, Geneva Reed; brothers, Carl and Dexter Reed, and sister, Bonnie Galyon. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Seymour, Masonic Lodge 334, KerbelaTemple and Knoxville Scottish Rite Temple. Mr. Reed was also an Army Veteran of World War II. STUART, GUY ALLEN - age 84, of White Pine, died on Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at his home, of complications from colon cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Madison and Myrtle Humpston Stuart. He was a member of the White Pine First Church of God. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cecelia Zimmermann Stuart. WILLIAMS, CHARLES D. - age 77, of Rutledge, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at his home, after a brief illness. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. Preceded in death by parents, Isaac and Ada Williams; step mother, Cindy Williams; twin brother, Chester; brothers, Bill and Doyle, and sister, Lucy. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Ruth Williams; devoted daughter and son-in-law, DeRonda and Carl Brown; grandchildren and spouses, Carla and Jay Collins and Quinton and Christi Brown, all of Rutledge; step sister, Pauline Williams; step brothers, Oscar and Curtis Williams of Tazewell, and several nieces and nephews. WITCHALINE, LILLIAN (TRULLENDER / BAILEY) - age 74, of Dandridge, Tenn., died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital. Born and raised in Salem, N.J., Lillian lived in Millville, N.J. until 1982, before moving to Dandridge, Tenn. She was employed at Wheaton Glass Industry in Millville as a Glass Decorator and Packer for at least 20 years. She enjoyed her grandchildren and her close neighbors. She enjoyed collecting dolls as a hobby. She attended the Swannsylvania Baptist Church in Dandridge. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Anthony Witchaline of Dandridge; one daughter, Christine (Bailey) Antonini and husband of Newfield, N.J.; one son, Michael Witchaline and wife of Knoxville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by Mike Hensley of the Baptist Church on Tuesday, in their home after cremation on Monday. WRIGHT, MILLARD HENRY (BUDDY), JR. - age 61, of Jacksboro, passed away Tuesday, July 3, at his home. He was a member of First Baptist Church Jacksboro, and Jacksboro Masonic Lodge No. 322 F&AM. He was a 26 year Veteran of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement State of Tennessee, Veteran of the U. S. Navy, and a former Boy Scout Leader. ANDERSON, CLEO WALLIS - age 81, of Oak Ridge, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Came to Oak Ridge in 1945. Worked in the Purchasing Department of Union Carbide during the construction years and then for several years at the Laughing Monkey Craft Shop in Jackson Square. She worked for Accountant Don Carson for 10 years and Accountant Charles Rymer for 10 years prior to her retirement. Member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, the BPOE Ladies of the Elks and the Oak Ridge Women's Club. Survived by her husband of 58 years, Lowell W. Anderson; daughters, Sharon Frost and husband Arthur (Jack) of Oak Ridge, and Joyce Helton and husband, James of Smyrna; grandchildren, Michelle Pangle and husband John and John's son, Johnathon of Clinton, Jennifer Frost of Oak Ridge, Robert Helton and his wife, Shannon of Smyrna; great-grandson, Tyler Helton; niece, Kay Ferrell and husband Max of Overland Park, Kansas. BARNES, FRANCES McNABB - age 76, of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday evening, July 3, 2001. Frances was born November 30, 1924. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Kingston. A retiree of Department of Energy in Oak Ridge. She was preceded in death by parents, E. H. Amos and Dossie Weaver Amos. Frances was the widow of James Marvin McNabb and Thomas E. Barnes. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Michael R. and Helen McNabb of Lenoir City; granddaughters, Leslie Saidak and Martha Guldan, both of Lenoir City; sister, Vivian Stalyon; niece, Bobbie Sue Ross, both of Olive Branch, Miss.; step daughters, Judy Watson and family of Knoxville, Janice Nelson and family of Chattanooga, and step son, Thomas N.
