LITTON, INA RUCKER LINDSEY - of Knoxville, passed away Friday April 27, 2001 at Hillcrest South. She was a member of Inskip Baptist Church and attended Fairvew United Methodist Church. She was the last survivor of the union of Harriett & J.R. (Jim) Rucker. Preceded in death by husbands, Howard W. Lindsey and Eldridge Litton. Survived by daughter, Jane Rule and a son, William (Bill) Lindsey; grandchildren, Melony Haden, Wendy Rule, Luke Rule and Cheri Gaddis; great grandchild, Tory Haden; half sisters, Mrs. W.G. (Christine) Montgomer and Mrs. H.A. (Alice) Loy; half brother, Zane Rucker. Family and friends will meet at Greenwood cemetery 10:30 a.m. Tuesday for a graveside service, Rev. C. Ray Kitts officiating. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the superior and loving care for our mother given by the staff of Hillcrest South. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillcrest South Family Council 1758 Hillwood Dr. Knoxville, Tenn. 37920. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Mynatt's.

MILLIGAN, ELIZABETH G. - age 67, of Gatlinburg, Tenn., passed away Sunday, April 29, 2001, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. She was a member of Glades Lebanon Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Mack D. and Doshie Lee (Squires) Gore. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Teena and Gary Miller; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Dean and Nancy Milligan, and Barry Lynn and Debbie Milligan; grandchildren, Dean Milligan and wife Michele, Denise and Dusty Milligan, and Danna Barden; sister, Adazena Watts; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mack Norman and Ellaree Gore, James Lynnwood and Margie Gore, and William Earl and Inga Gore. Dear friend, Carol Captooth. Memorial Service 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Mynatt's Chapel, Rev. Ben Whitted officiating. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Robert McDonald at Interfaith Health Clinic, Dr. Berta Bregia, and the staff of St. Mary's Residential Hospice. NELSON, RUTH - age 65 of Knoxville died Saturday April 28, 2001 at Ft. Sanders Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frelen Nelson and mother, Zelma Whaley Lewelling. Survivors: sons, Darrell Gene Lewelling, Walter Nelson and wife, Shannan; daughters, Patricia Lewelling Inkerbarger, Virgie Lewelling; 3 granddaughters; 1 grandson; sisters, Eula Matthews, Clara Whaley and husband, Laymon, Juanita Cowden and husband, Wayne; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 7 p.m. Monday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Interment icon 10 a.m. Tuesday in Mt. View cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday at Atchley Funeral Home in Sevierville.

NOLAN, WILLIAM DOVIE (DOT) - of Clarksville, Tenn., formerly of Knoxville, departed this life on Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. Survivors: five children; nine grandchildren; four brothers, and three sisters. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2001, 11 a.m. at Greater St. James Baptist Church in Clarksville, Tenn. The body is at Foston Funeral Home, 816 Franklin Street, Clarksville, TN 37040. Notice by Unity Mortuary.

OGLE, MAYFORD - age 82 of Andersonville, passed away 3:40 p.m. April 28, 2001 at home. He was a member of Fort Hill Baptist Church and a US Army veteran of World War II serving 4 years, 8 months in Germany during the Battle of the Bulge. Survivors: wife, Trula Ogle; sons, Steve Harrison and Jerry Beason; grandchildren, David Beason and Gill & Jerry Lynn, twins of Washington state; brother, Carl Ogle; sisters, Louise Yardley and Pearl Fleck; several nieces, nephews; brothers in law, and sisters in law whom he loved very much; special friends, Jason Stone, Richard Johnson, Jean Chaney, Kyle Ridenour and Bobby Flatford. Funeral service 8 p.m. Monday Mynatt's Chapel. Rev. Burney Hutchinson, Rev. Jack Walker officiating. Family & friends will meet at Hutchinson cemetery (Byrams Fork Rd.) at 10 a.m. Tuesday for graveside service. Military honors will be presented by East Tenn. Veterans Honor Guard. OLIVER, MURRAY M. - age 75, of Louisville, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, April 29, 2001. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church of Louisville, Tenn., and Deacon for several years, a U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Retired from Con Agra with 32 years of loyal service. Preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. (Bill) Oliver; sons, Sgt. Bobby and Joe Oliver. Survived by wife of 54 years, Mildred Oliver; daughter, Linda King; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Amanda Oliver; grandchildren, Keith, Charlie, Joy, Bobby, Jonathon, Brooke and Brandon; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Floyd and W. M. (Red) Oliver; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at Stock Creek cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday for a 1 p.m. graveside service, Rev. Wesley Ingram and Rev. Harold Robbins officiating. Active pallbearers, David Norris, Eddie King, David Rose, Robert Rose, Tim White, and Randy Myers. Arrangements by Gentry-Griffey Chapel.

PHILLIPS, BETTY LOUISE MOSES - age 59, of Niota, Tenn., passed away Saturday, April 28, 2001, at her home. She was a native and life long resident of McMinn County, a member of the Athens Free Saints True Holiness Church and was preceded in death by parents, Leonard and Ellie King Moses. Survivors include her husband, Hugh B. Phillips of Niota, Tenn.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Mike Thomason of Georgetown, Tenn., and Nancy and Joe Cranfield of Athens, Tenn.; two sons and daughter-in-law, Billy and Tammy Phillips of Athens, Tenn., and Robert Phillips of Niota, Tenn.; one sister, Dorothy Sherwood of Knoxville; four grandchildren, Travis, Brandon, Drew and Tyler. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Athens Free Saints True Holiness Church with the Rev. Dewey Morton officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Upper Spring Creek cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Monday at Ziegler Funeral Home, Athens, Tenn.

RENFRO, WILLIAM HOWARD - age 86 of Oak Ridge died Saturday April 28, 2001 at Briarcliff Health Care Center. Veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy. Member of First United Methodist Church. 50 year member of Suthers Masonic Grand Lodge #259 of Norton, Va. Retired Machinist from Martin Marietta Energy Systems/Y-12. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Billy Byron Renfro and Edward M. Renfro and by sister, Elizabeth R. Martin. He is survived by wife, Ida Louise Barton Renfro, Oak Ridge; sons, Hoard Barton Renfro and wife, Barbara of Oak Ridge and Eric Lynn Renfro and wife Froylette of Diamond Bar, Calif.; brother, James H. Renfro and wife, Dorothy of Conroe, TX; sister, Evelyn R. Caton of Charlotte, NC and 7 grandchildren, Paula Renfro, Trevor Renfro, Blake Renfro, Ryan Renfro, Patrick Renfro, Ian Renfro and Sage Renfro. Funeral services are Monday April 30, 2001 at 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. William Mooney officiating. Graveside services are Tuesday May 1, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Youth Choir of the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 4669 Oak Ridge, Tenn. 37830. The family will receive friends on Monday from 7-8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge, Tenn.

WALKER, MARGARET FORD - went to be with our Lord, April twenty-eighth, 2001. Survivors are her husband of sixty-years, Odus Walker of Clinton; seven children and their spouses, Jackie and Norma Walker, Roger and Ethel Davis of Andersonville, Billy and Kay Walker, Barbara and Lester Elkins, Mary and Hubert Webber, Dewey and Becky Walker and Carolyn and Ray Oxendine, all of Clinton; twenty grandchildren and their spouses; twenty-four great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren; one sister, Ethel Thomas of Florida; and one sister in law, Edna Sawyer of Clinton and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her father and mother, William and Lula Ford & seven brothers and four sisters. Margaret Walker loved many and was loved by many. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She lived in the Hillvale Community for sixty years. Funeral will be Monday 8 p.m. Holley-Gamble Chapel in Clinton with Rev. mark Keith & Dr. Robert Burns officiating. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. WEBSTER, ARTHUR RAY, JR. (SMOKE) - age 72 of Corryton, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2001 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. Employee of Johnson and Gaylon Construction Company for 57 years. Member of Byerleys Chapel Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Ray, Sr. and Ethel Webster; sister, Lucille Rogers; brother, Jonas Webster. Survivors: wife of 53 years, Edith Bailey Webster; son, Kenneth Webster; sons and daughters in law, Dennis and Vickie Webster, Gary and Brenda Webster; daughters and sons in law, Linda and Greg Bales, Donna and Warren Beeler; grandchildren, Jason and Sandy Webster, Travis Webster, Jennifer Webster, Courtney Beeler, Bradley Bales, Caleb Bales and Kendal Bales; great grandchild, Alison Webster; brothers, O.H. and Ernie Webster; sisters, Mary Lakin, Eula Boling, Irene Black, Isabell Miller, Betty Day and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 30, 2001 at 8 p.m. in the Chapel of McCarty Mortuary with Rev. Jerry Walton and Rev. Mark Kitts officiating. The family will meet Tuesday morning in the Eastview Memorial Gardens at 10:45 a.m. for an 11 a.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. prior to services. WILSON, EVELYN S. - age 85, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Shannondale Assisted Living Center. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Maryville. She is survived by her husband, William B. Wilson of Knoxville, and daughters and sons-in-law, Sara W. and Jeff C. Jacobus of Maryville, and Elizabeth W. and David C. Henderson of Hertford, N.C. She has two grandchildren, G. Scott Francis of Murfreesboro, and W. Paul Francis of Val Paraiso, Ind., and two great-grandchildren and several cousins. There will be a private family graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests, memorials be made to the William B. Wilson Engineering Scholarship Fund, at the University of Tennessee.

YOUNG, MRS. HELEN H. - of Knoxville, departed this life on Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Unity Mortuary.

ZIMMERMAN, ARDEN R. - age 80, of Knoxville, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. Mr. Zimmerman is a member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. A retired Insurance Agent with Prudential Insurance, and a general contractor. He served four years in the U. S. Army during World War II. Preceded in death by parents, Furman and Jessie Zimmerman and five brothers. Survivors: wife, Helen Zimmerman; son, Gregory K. Zimmerman, both of Knoxville; sisters-in-law, Mildred Zimmerman and Patty Zimmerman, and three nieces. Funeral service 7 p.m. Tuesday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, Rev. Sam S. Cappel officiating. Family and friends will meet at Edgewood cemetery Wednesday for a 10 a.m. interment icon service. AHTEN, LENA HIBBINA WARFEN - age 89, of Knoxville, departed this life Monday, April 30, 2001, at Parkwest Hospital. Born March 14, 1912, in Germany, a long time member of First Lutheran Church, Knoxville, a member of the Afternoon Division of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League of the church. She was an employee of Minnewawa Manufacturing Company for 16 years, a retired farmer and housewife. She was married for 50 years to diary farmer, George Ahten, who preceded her in death in 1987. Also preceded in death by parents, Johann and Luckea Warfen Philipps, and two brothers, Gerd and Jann Warfen. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Ingrid Ahten and Marvin E. Hall of Dayton, Tenn.; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kimberly Ann and John David Henson of Stuttgart, Arkansas; grandson, Kristofer Brian Hall of Fletcher, N.C.; sisters, Elisabeth Schramm and Wiemkea Franzen of Germany; sister-in-law, Frieda Lamberti of Germany, and many nieces and nephews residing in Germany. The funeral will be conducted in the Highland Memorial Funeral Home Chapel Thursday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Paul Bushur and Rev. John Schulz officiating. Interment icon will follow in Highland Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers are James Ford, Howard Hinton, John Pace, Ray Smith, Ron Baer and Jim McSween. ASQUITH, MARY PATRICIA - age 62, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at her Fountain City home. She was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. She was retired from the Tennessee Employment Security office and later worked in the nursery at Lake Hills Presbyterian Church. Miss Asquith had been a semi-pro Softball Player for the Atlanta Lorelei team and was named to the USA Olympic Team in 1974, 75, & 1984, as a third baseman. She continued her love of the sport locally as a coach and commissioner at Fountain City Park, and served as assistant baseball coach at the Christian Academy of Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita M. Asquith. Survivors: father and step mother, Harry and Mary Asquith of Knoxville; sisters, Carol Roseberry of Knoxville, Suzy A. Woods of Morgan County, and Betty Jo Creekmore of Farragut; brother, Mike Asquith of Knoxville; step sisters, Kay Hickman, Kathy Lami, and Sylvia Hall, and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet Thursday at New Gray cemetery for a 2 p.m. graveside service with Father Xavier Mankel officiating. Pallbearers: Mark Roseberry, Andy Asbury, Criss and Steven Asquith, Chip Woods, Seth and Zach Huffaker, and Bill Dunn. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the CAK Baseball Team. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christian Academy Athletic Dept. of Knoxville, 529 Academy Dr., Knoxville, TN 37923, or to the Holy Ghost Catholic Church Youth Group, 1041 N.
