BELL, MR. CHARLES "CHARLIE" - age 71, of the Three Point Community, Mascot, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2001, at his home. Member of Three Point Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Preceded in death by parents, Albert and Ora Bell, and sister, Ada Mae Ford. Survivors include wife of 45 years, Hazel Bell; daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and (Lennie) Haun, Becky and (Rick) Wilson, and Penny and (Butch) Brown; grandchildren, Robbie and wife Crystal Haun, Randy and wife Amanda Haun, Dusty and wife Jennifer Wilson, and Angie Hillard; great-granddaughter, Alexis; three brothers, and five sisters, Serving as pallbearers: Jimmy Moore, Ray Bell, Johnny McCarter, Craig Laxton, Keith Burnett, and Jim Leeper. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in the Chapel of McCarty Mortuary with Rev. Ruben Wilson and Rev. Carl Loy, Jr. officiating. Family and friends will meet in the East View Memorial Gardens Thursday at 10:45 a.m. for an 11 a.m. interment icon service. The Bell family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at McCarty Mortuary. A very special thanks goes to Dr. Shelly Durbin and Hospice of UT. McCarty Mortuary, 4004 Holston Dr., in charge of arrangements.

CAMPBELL, LINDA CAROLE - age 56, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, April 9, 2001, at Baptist Hospital. She was preceded in death by parents, Emory and Louise Malone Daniel, and a sister, Vickie L. Daniel. Survived by husband of 30 years, Walter Scott Campbell; sister, Gayle Myers of Knoxville; brothers, Larry Daniel and Terry Daniel, both of Powell, and Doyle Daniel of Nevada. Graveside services 2 p.m. Thursday at Woodlawn cemetery with Rev. Mason Goodman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 871 Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN 37909. Friends may call at their convenience throughout the day Wednesday, and Thursday morning until 12 Noon at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Hwy.

CARPENTER, LORENE P. - age 74, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, April 9, 2001, at home. A member of Dante Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Earl and Gertie Parrott; brother, Raymond Parrott, and sister, Louise Cole. Survivors: husband, Edward L. Carpenter; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Michael Heath; daughter, Donna J. Carpenter; son and daughter-in-law, Edward Jr. and Susan Carpenter; grandchildren, Tammi and Kevin Carroll, Micca Goans, Michael Jr., and Jamie Heath, Gerald and Jennifer Carpenter; three great-grandchildren, Michelle Goans, and Chase and Brandon Heath; special sister, Willie Boring, of the home, Barbara Beever, Charlotte Carpenter, Wanda Henson, Nita Treadway, and Irma Coffey, all of Knoxville. COLE, JAMES TAYLOR - age 80, died Monday, April 9, 2001, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice Center. He served in the South Pacific in the Navy, during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He graduated from the University of Tennessee, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He had been a long-time member of Second Presbyterian Church, also the Uptown Optimist Club, and the Knoxville Quarterback Club. For most of his business career, he had been East Tenn District Manager of a National Wholesale Paper Company. Preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary Lou and Guilford Cole of Waynesboro, Tenn. Survived by wife, Lucy Rowntree Cole; two sons, James Barry Cole and wife, Jackie of Oak Ridge, and Steven Cole of Atlanta; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Robert Hinton of Dallas, Mary and Robert Bryan of Ooltewah, and Laura and Mike Turner of Knoxville; nine grandchildren, Angela and Eric Cole of Oak Ridge, Caitlin and Maura Hinton of Dallas, Rebecca and Elizabeth Bryan of Ooltewah, Cole, Thomas, and Gil Turner of Knoxville; three sisters, Louise Brondum of Pender, NE, Marie Rovere of Florence, Ala., and Doris Klingelhoets of Folsom, Calif.; four brothers, Harold, Robert and David, all of Waynesboro, and Jasper of Mesa, Ariz. Family and friends will meet Friday at Greenwood cemetery for a 10 a.m. graveside service with Dr. Arnold Lovell and Rev. J. Christopher Leonard officiating. The family requests, memorials be made to Second Presbyterian Memorial Fund, 2829 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919, or to the Alzheimer's Association, Eastern Tennessee Chapter, 1924 Alcoa Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.

COWIE, DONALD GORDON - age 88, of Kingston, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at the Ft. Sanders Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. Member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post 110, and the VFW. Veteran of WWII. Preceded in death by his first wife, Florence O. Cowie, and a sister, Betty Swift. Survivors: wife of 30 years, Geneva Melton Cowie of Kingston; daughter and son-in-law, Leslie Cowie Chovanec and Michael F. Chovanec of Leeds, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday in Kyker Chapel with the Rev. Shep Crigler officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood cemetery with full Military Honors by the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston.

COX, BESSIE L. - age 92, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at her home. She was a member of Everett Hills Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her son, Ray Edward Cox. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Wilma and John Fox of Walland; grandson, Harold Fox of Walland; sisters, Lucy Longworth of Knoxville, and Tennie Watkins of Alcoa; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Allen Raines and Dr. John Franklin officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lynnhurst cemetery in Knoxville, for the interment icon service. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.

DONAHUE, MR. LESTER S. - age 90, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at Brakebill Nursing Home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.

EASTERBROOK, TILLIE McCAMPBELL - age 86, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, April 9, 2001, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. She was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by parents, William H. and Elizabeth McCampbell; sisters, Lillian Freshour and Edna Toomey; twin sister, Betty McCampbell; brothers, Shorty, Wayne, and Bill McCampbell. Survived by half brother, Lloyd McCampbell of Powell; sisters-in-law, Helen McCampbell of Knoxville and Edith Stenderup of California; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Residential Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938. Mynatt's, in charge.

FANCHER, ROSA MAE CARDWELL - age 93, of Fountain City, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2001, at her home. She was a member of Greenway Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Rev. John and Sarah Cardwell; husband of 57 years, James Walter Fancher; son, James Fancher; 11 brothers and sisters. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Ann Fancher of Tallassee, Tenn.; daughters and son-in-law, Dorothy and David Newman of Maryland and Mary Louise Hutchins of Knoxville; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Rev. Randy Carver and Rev. James Dunn officiating. Interment icon will follow at Greenwood cemetery. FORMAN, TONYA - age 38, of Jellico, Tenn., passed away Sunday, April 8, 2001, at the family residence. Survivors: daughter, Hannah Forman of Jellico; parents, A.B. and Jennie Ann Forman of Jellico; sister, Angie Forman of Powell; brother, Keith Forman and wife Penny of Bellefontaine, Ohio; grandmother, Doris Lansden of Dayton, Ohio; aunts, Jimmie Roberts and Blanche Smith of Dayton, Ohio; uncle, Ervin Forman of Virginia.; cousins, Ronnie, Doris Ann, Shannon and Matt Tackett, Rick, Gary and Tracy Forman. The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church, Jellico, Wednesday, April 11, from 5-8 p.m., with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m., with Rev. Michael Blankenship officiating. FOSTER, RUBY WILSON - age 90, of Lake City, Tenn., passed away Monday, April 9, 2001, at the Windwood Health Center in Clinton. She was born July 23, 1910, in Anderson County, Tenn. She was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church in Lake City. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh D. Foster, Sr.; brothers, Clyde H. Wilson, and J. Winfrey Wilson, and parents, W.J. and Maggie Cooper Wilson. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Robert D. Stallard, of Clinton; son and daughter-in-law, Hugh D., Jr. and Jane Foster of Clinton; grandchildren, Karen Sullivan and husband,Tom, Mark Stallard and wife Lisa, Kendell Foster, and Kerry Foster and wife Mary; great-grandchildren, Michael, Bryan, Aaron, T.J., Kiah, Emily, and Christopher; brothers, Luther C. Wilson and wife Willie of Lake City, and Ben H. Wilson and wife Ollie of Lake City; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. HUMAN, ROBERT LYNN (BOB) - age 56, of Knoxville, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 7, 2001. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Co owner of Bob Human's Gulf Service Station. Attended East Tennessee State University. Preceded in death by sister, Kathy Human Hale. Survivors include daughter, Tammy Human Herndon and son, Robert Lynn Human, Jr.; parents, Isaac W. (Cub) and Pearl Human; grandmother, Annabelle Bratcher; sisters, Faye Human Boatman and Joy Human Dowdy; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Interment icon will be Wednesday, 12 Noon, at Highland Memorial cemetery, Rev. Dale Chapman officiating. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.

ISAACS, MINNIE FAYONSKY - age 90, died Monday, April 9, 2001. She was a member of Heska Amuna Synagogue. Mrs. Isaacs was preceded in death by husband, Oscar M. Isaacs. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sherry Isaacs of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister, Sara (Serkie) Billig of Knoxville; nephew, Jan Fay of Knoxville. LEACH, NORMA JEAN - age 62, of Kingston, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at Roane Medical Center in Harriman. She was a homemaker and member of Calvary Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. Survived by husband, Larry Lee Leach of Kingston; son, Tony Leach and wife Angela of Knoxville; parents, Tilford L. and Stella Kiser of Oak Ridge; brother, Tilford L. "Bud" Kiser, Jr. and wife, Billie of Madisonville, Tenn.; sister, Carolyn Hanley and husband, Don of Oak Ridge. Funeral services are Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. Graveside services are Thursday, April 12, 2001, at 10 a.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge.

LOUDERMILK, MARY LOUISE - age 91, passed away Monday, April 9, 2001, at Shannondale Health Care. Formerly of Kimberly, West Virginia, Louise had moved to Tennessee two years ago to be near her family. She led a happy and active lifestyle at Heritage Assisted Living until her illness in October. She was a member of the Eastern Star Kanawha Chapter #38 and of Montgomery Baptist Church in West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Loudermilk, Sr., in 1969. She is survived by her son, William J. Loudermilk and wife, Juanita of Knoxville; granddaughter, Cheryl L. Heath and husband Ed of Knoxville; grandson, Bob Loudermilk and wife, Beth of Brentwood, Tenn.; three great-granddaughters and one great-grandson, Kelli H. Corley and husband, David of Nashville, Lori H. Hampton and husband, Trustin of Knoxville, Bethany Loudermilk and Robert Loudermilk of Brentwood, and one great-great granddaughter, Talor Alli Hampton of Knoxville. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, April 12, at 11 a.m. at Montgomery Memorial Park. MARTIN, CLIFFORD MARCUS - age 77, of Kingston, passed away Monday, April 9, 2001, at Roane Medical Center in Harriman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kingston and a Navy WWII Veteran. He retired from Union Carbide after 29 years of service. Survivors include: wife, Lola Martin of Kingston; sons and daughters-in-law, Marcus Jr. and Debbie Martin of Columbia, S.C., and Michael (Buddy) and Cathy Martin of Kingston; granddaughters, Andrea and Natalie Martin, both of Columbia, S.C., Tina Thornton of California, and Carmen Barker of Cookeville; sisters, Elvira Roche and Elizabeth Jean Martin, both of Rockville, Md.; brothers, Franklin Martin of Columbus, Ohio, and William Martin of Delaware, Ohio; special sister-in-law and husband, Stella and Grover Conner of Baltimore, Md. The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in the Kyker Chapel with Dr. Roy Graves officiating. MOUNTAIN, ARNOLD T. - age 81, of Knoxville, passed away suddenly at his home, Monday, April 9, 2001. A former member of Bright Hope United Methodist Church. He was an Alumnus of Lincoln Memorial University and a retired employee of Alcoa Aluminum Co. Preceded in death by parents, Edgar and Iona Mountain; brother, Ray Mountain; sister, Gladys Bailey, who resided in New Tazewell. Survived by wife, Mary R. Mountain; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Bud Martin, and Marilyn and Charles Chumley; grandchildren, Mike Oakes, Dylan Martin, Patrick Chumley, and Karli Chumley; sister, Vera Lynn Poore, and several nieces and nephews. NATION, SARAH HARRIET WAITS - age 85, of Sidney, Ohio, formerly of Claxton Community, passed away Monday, April 9, 2001, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. She was born April 22, 1915, to the late Elijah and Jessie (West) Waits. Mrs. Nation was also preceded in death by husband, Floyd Nation; two sons; one daughter; three sisters, and one brother. She is survived by sons, Ottis, James and Bobby of Sidney, Ohio, Benny of Orange Park, Florida, Paul of Tipp City, Ohio; daughter, Glendith June Martz of Sidney, Ohio; 25 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren, and one brother, J. M. Waits of Crossville. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Woodhaven Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Fritts officiating.
