BENNETT, GENE ALLEN, SR. - age 56, of Knoxville, formerly of Louisville, passed away Thursday October 26, 2000 at Fort Sanders Parkwest Hospital. He was the owner of Bennett Roofing and Remodeling Company. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Fraternal Order of Moose. He was of the Apostolic faith and attended the First Apostolic Church of Maryville. He was preceded in death by his father, Orban Bennett; and sister, Brenda Vineyard. Survivors include his wife, Lynelle Bennett; sons, Gene Allen Bennett, Jr. of Louisville, and Kevin Bennett of Philadelphia, Tenn.; daughters and sons in law, Laura Ann and John McMillan, Trina and Lee Ivens, both of Friendsville, Lydia and Wes Morton of Knoxville; grandson, Christopher; granddaughter, Emma; mother, Ruby Bennett of Maryville; brother, Robert Bennett of Knoxville; brothers and sisters in law, Carl and Peggy Bennett of Knoxville, Don and Hazel Bennett of Maryville, Clayton and Ann Bennett, David and Vickie Bennett, both of Knoxville; sisters, Freida Condry of Maryville, Henrietta Daugherty of Friendsville; sister and brother in law, Rebecca and Joe Reagan of Knoxville. BLAIR, LOUISE WHITAKER - age 78, died Thursday October 26, 2000 at her home in North Knoxville. She was a member of Gillespie Avenue Baptist Church where she had faithfully served as church treasurer for 50 years and church secretary for 20 years. Mrs. Blair was presently serving as president of the North Knoxville Civitan Club, an office she had held on three previous occasions. She had retired as WMU consultant for the Knox County Association of Baptists. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. G.W. Whitaker. Her survivors include her husband, J.D. (Snake) Blair; daughter & son in law, Janet & Craig Belitz; grandchildren, Kelley, Mindy, and Casey; sister, Hazel Loy; and several nieces and nephews. CORUM, MR. JAMES HALL "POPPIE" - age 61, of Luttrell, passed away 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2000, at his home. Survivors: parents, Edgar and Edna Corum; wife, Wanda Corum; daughter, Lori Corum, all of Luttrell; sisters, Kay Evans and Pam Hembree. both of Morristown; step children, Rhonda Helton and Greg and Tony Williams, all of Maynardville. To them he gave his love and friendship in a very caring way. Six grandchildren thru love, Dustin and Jamie Boles, Brandi and Michael Williams, Joshua and Derek Williams. DILLARD, FANNYE A. - age 94, of Knoxville, passed away Friday morning October 27, 2000 at her residence. Mrs. Dillard was a dedicated homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and cherished her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She taught school in a one room school house prior to working for four doctors during the depression. Mrs. Dillard was a member of the Orchid Society. She is survived by her loving family, husband, William R. Dillard, Jr. of Knoxville; son and daughter in law, Dr. James W. and Lourdes M. Dillard of Florence, Ala.; two grandchildren, Elizabeth A. Dillard and Alexander W. Dillard; a brother, Herbert L. Routon of Nixa, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by grandson, Jason Goode. KEEBLER, ELOISE CLAIRE - of Signal Mountain, passed away Friday, October 27, 2000 in a local health care facility. She was the daughter of the late Ida Queener Keebler and the late Samuel Taylor Keebler. She was born in Knoxville, Tenn. and grew up in Oliver Springs, Tenn. After graduating from high school in Harriman she entered UT where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts. During the time Miss Keebler was attending the University her family moved to Knoxville. She took all her electives in Elementary Education and taught in Knoxville for five years after which she moved to Wilson Dam, Ala., where she taught in the TVA Laboratory school for five years. She then went to Talladega, Ala. where she was Supervisor of Instruction for the elementary schools of Talladega County. After she completed her Master's Degree at Ohio State University in Childhood Education and Elementary School Curriculum, she taught one year in the Laboratory School at Ohio State and for the College of Education there for three summer sessions where she taught teachers and principals. Wishing to return to the South she accepted employment with the Fulton County Board of Education in Atlanta as Supervisor of Instruction and Curriculum Director of the elementary schools where she remained until she retired. During this period she completed on year of Postgraduate work at the University of Ga. in Teacher Education, Supervision and Elementary curriculum. For several summers Miss Keebler taught teachers in the Colleges of Education at the University of Tenn., University of Ga., Ohio State, University of Miami and Emory University. In college days she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Social Sorority and while in graduate work she was elected to Pi Lambda Theta honorary academic sorority. Professionally she as a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a former member of the Andrew Jackson Chapter of DAR in Talladega and was a member of the Moccasin Bend Chapter of DAR in Chattanooga. In Atlanta she was a member of the Cascade Road Presbyterian Church, the First Presbyterian Church in Talladega, Ala. and was a member of the Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church since moving here. Survivors include a godchild, Mrs. Carlton Wilder, Vero Beach, and her three sons, Tony Tolleson, Ormond Beach, Fla., Christ Tolleson, Atlanta, Ga., and Patrick Tolleson, Raleigh, NC. funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Signal Mountai8n Presbyterian Church with Dr. William Dudley officiating.
